@KenanVideos imo, this phone is still one of the best phones ever produced in the world (ok, you have Super Amoled now, but where do you find a good looking phone with stereo speakers (still) outstanding display, flash and 720p recording?? It will beat the Galaxy S (not in screen quality but certainly in buildquality and design i think, did i mention the Flash btw??).

Texting is lovely! The sensitivity is great and now and again ill press the wrong key, but it's takes less than half a second to correct it anyway :) Shame there's no auto correction like on the iphone.
The touchscreen is never sluggish, however the interface is sometimes sluggish. I have had quite a few occasions where it stops responding. A quick reset fixes it always. Though I don't have the latest firmware anyway so that may be fixes.

dude i think i have an idea on what that 'teeth' thing is. It stumped me but with a little help we came up with the idea of a stand lol works great, props it up well 8D. place the longer length side on the desk and the vertical part to hold the phone in place and the bottom teeth hold the base of the phone in place
damn, cant wait 4 this to come to the US, if it is at all, i will get this over the iphone 3gs, just because it can replace my main camera. and video play back on 720p. trade off is the 3GS have faster processor, so game will be sweet on it.
This samsung has an ARM Cortex A8 CPU similar to the iphone 3gs. It runs at 600mhz. But if you want games, then iphone definitely has tons of that on the appstore.. :)
A lot slower than anything on my ipod touch. Including 3D racing games. I have a video on it. It's a shame, but apparantly it can run faster games when they're specifically made for the Omnia HD.

I've found the reception to be pretty good for my area on Orange. Just as good as my previous phones (LG Viewty, Samsung U600), probably a bit better :)
I have a weird question, when you use the internet, is there a thing to authenticate? By that I mean can you choose a network and then sign on with a name and then a password for that name? My company has this internet that requires you to use your name and password while on the network. Its frustrating trying to explain :)

Also got staff discount so it's now £22 a month. Unlimited texts, 200 mins, and all my magic numbers makes the lack of minutes not matter :)
sorry what happens after the 18 month contract ends do you own the phone that or do orange own it. than do you have to sign up for another contractwith them or could you change net work and keep the phones. cheers.
When the contract ends you can keep the phone and do whatever you want with it :) You can upgrade your contract and keep the phone, or get a new one (like i did). Or you could keep the phone and get a sim card on a new network. Or just get a new phone on a new network xD

Alright fella im getting one of these babys to replace my N95 (oh yes) my fav feature of my old phone is the speakers so i can play tunes and not have to carry portable speakers, not the best sound but will do for sitting in the park and the like, qestion is the sound better on the samsung the same or worse
You don't have any vids over the web browsing capability/quality (or lack thereof). Any comments about it? Do you like it, is other flash (aside from YouTube) supported, etc.?
I want to get one up soon but ive been real busy. Browsing is quick and pretty good. Youtube is pretty poor quality though I've found. Havn't tried other flash things yet.
The browsing isn't as good as the ipod touch/iphone, but then again i don't think anything else is at the moment.
It will be on sales in the Asia Pacific region around early July due to the more complex language options of the region that needs to go in the phone.

If you go to one of the phone shops I dunno what one like phones4u or carphone W they can check the signal strength of Orange in ur area. I was worried about that too but Orange a pretty good for coverage

DNLA isn't that popular yet.... so unless your gonna buy a new £1200 plasma to go with your new phone, the only way you can watch your video recordings in full HD is to convert it to XVID using TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER then put it on your PS3.

ello mate cheers for the video upload. i still cant make my mind up to get this or not yea, for one reason the typing i saw in a video sometime ago, the typing that i saw was dreadful. how have you found it as there isnt multi touch you cant press 2 letters at the same time with out it discarding the first letter, have they changed this or not?
Hmm, i think pressing another will discard it. But I honestly find it really easy to use, though I have been using a LG viewty for a year and a half. Typing is very easy on the phone though.
I looked on the more widgets download section and it only has the google toolbar. Maybe it will be updated soon with more. But the Facebook app is actually just a link to facebook mobile.

Hi there, Good vid. I'm looking at buying this phone but have a couple of questions. How does it handle e-mail (gmail), is is through the gmail app or can it handle pop email so messages appear in a simillar fashion to texts?
I probably won't set up emails so I don't know sorry. There isn't a facebook app yet on the download list, but they'll probably add is soon. But the app is actually just a link to facebook mobile apparantly.
okay I got a question that is important to me. we know that the phone records videos at 720p at 24fps (frames per second). I'm not so impressed with that HD sample because of that 24 fps. so,I wanna know can the phone record video at some resolution that has 30fps as better Nokia phones can do. thanks
Thanks for posting these videos. A lot of people are interested in this phone and it's hard to find real user opinions on because of how new it is.
Next time you make a video, turn the brightness down on the phone. The high brightness is what causes the blurry glare that you see in most of this video, and you can see the screen much better when it dims after a bit of inactivity.
I'd also really like to see the speed of the camera in between taking pictures and how long they take to process?
Unfortuanatly I figured out the brightness down thing after I made all these vidoes LOL. Oh well. Sure, I'll do a whole deeper look to the phone in general :) I'll record and upload tonight. Along with (if I remember) a sample of the recording quality in a pub!

Hmmm, I can only try it with another Orange SIM as I don't have one off another network sorry. However, I'm still going to think that the phone is locked. The phone only became available the other day to Orange, and it's exclusive too. Mine wasn't a normal upgrade either... I said I was going to leave, then they just offered me a better deal. Hope that helps, as I'm sure 99% sure it's locked :)
Oooh, touch decision. I went for Omnia HD cause I'm a dedicated Orange user :) lol.
Even I find it hard to say why not to get the iphone... I didn't cause I have an ipod touch. I didn't want 2 identical devices :P Plus, I want a good camera as my phone has always acted as both, so the Omnia was a no brainer for me when I saw its specs.
But the iphone has the app store... which is just amazing imo. I'm addicted to it on my ipod!!!

yep, both are very nice though not perfect imo so difficult to choose:) design, camera, features etc.
the main thing is that I want a big capacitive screen, so the choice is very limited... for exmple LG Arena would be very nice but the sreen is only 3.0 and a bit too small for me...
I owned iPod Touch for a week and was blown away by it's capacitive screen and UI, I actually used mainly the web browsing and other stuff but not iPod by itself:) anyway after my HTC Tytn II I was very impressed:)
Could you show us how well the browser operates? Speed of loading the page matters most, but also if you could test something like a youtube HD clip through the browser on the phone that would be great, as it would give us an idea if Hulu would work for us in the States :)
I've got the wifi set up on it which works fine (a little slow, but that's because my internet connection is terrible anyway).
I can't try non-wifi internet though because I need to ring orange for them to update my SIM. I've been a but too busy with exams at the moment to be able to.
i also read that there would be a fm transmitter on that phone. and i would LOVE to have that for listening to music in my car. but guess it was to good to be true...

I was also worried about the talk of the battery cover, but it's very secure! It actually takes me a fair bit of effort to get it off, so I know it won't be coming off accidentally anytime soon.
Unfortuanatly my laptop can't play HD videos, so I don't have any to see if it works. Though I've put the season 5 finale of lost on it (2 episodes in one) and it looks fantastic. My futurama movies didnt work... maybe wrong format. I'll include it in the next video I do showing off the games :)
I tried both. One played for 3 seconds and stopped (both sound and video). The other (realplayer) had an error message warning that it won't work properly, then just played the sound. Quite wierd...

When the contract ends you can keep the phone and do whatever you want with it :) You can upgrade your contract and keep the phone, or get a new one (like i did). Or you could keep the phone and get a sim card on a new network. Or just get a new phone on a new network xD

Alright fella im getting one of these babys to replace my N95 (oh yes) my fav feature of my old phone is the speakers so i can play tunes and not have to carry portable speakers, not the best sound but will do for sitting in the park and the like, qestion is the sound better on the samsung the same or worse

You don't have any vids over the web browsing capability/quality (or lack thereof). Any comments about it? Do you like it, is other flash (aside from YouTube) supported, etc.?

I want to get one up soon but ive been real busy. Browsing is quick and pretty good. Youtube is pretty poor quality though I've found. Havn't tried other flash things yet.
The browsing isn't as good as the ipod touch/iphone, but then again i don't think anything else is at the moment.

Yup, that's why I gave the warning about the crap quality at the beginning xD It was just to show what's in the box and a very quick overview of the phone. I hadn't had it for long at that point (literally a few hours) so I didn't know too much about it.

If you go to one of the phone shops I dunno what one like phones4u or carphone W they can check the signal strength of Orange in ur area. I was worried about that too but Orange a pretty good for coverage

DNLA isn't that popular yet.... so unless your gonna buy a new £1200 plasma to go with your new phone, the only way you can watch your video recordings in full HD is to convert it to XVID using TOTAL VIDEO CONVERTER then put it on your PS3.
If anyone else can think of a different way plz let me know

ello mate cheers for the video upload. i still cant make my mind up to get this or not yea, for one reason the typing i saw in a video sometime ago, the typing that i saw was dreadful. how have you found it as there isnt multi touch you cant press 2 letters at the same time with out it discarding the first letter, have they changed this or not?

Hmm, i think pressing another will discard it. But I honestly find it really easy to use, though I have been using a LG viewty for a year and a half. Typing is very easy on the phone though.

I looked on the more widgets download section and it only has the google toolbar. Maybe it will be updated soon with more. But the Facebook app is actually just a link to facebook mobile.

but may i ask, in the prototype used at the MWC 2009 the menus were kinda sloppy and laggy. is this also the situation at this final version? judging from the phone its super smooth and not laggy at all.. and also, do you miss the multi touch feature, that the iphone has? i self never had an iphone, but i heard from some people its sad that its not a feature on the samsung omnia hd.grtz

Hi there, Good vid. I'm looking at buying this phone but have a couple of questions. How does it handle e-mail (gmail), is is through the gmail app or can it handle pop email so messages appear in a simillar fashion to texts?

I probably won't set up emails so I don't know sorry. There isn't a facebook app yet on the download list, but they'll probably add is soon. But the app is actually just a link to facebook mobile apparantly.

okay I got a question that is important to me. we know that the phone records videos at 720p at 24fps (frames per second). I'm not so impressed with that HD sample because of that 24 fps. so,I wanna know can the phone record video at some resolution that has 30fps as better Nokia phones can do. thanks

Thanks for posting these videos. A lot of people are interested in this phone and it's hard to find real user opinions on because of how new it is.
Next time you make a video, turn the brightness down on the phone. The high brightness is what causes the blurry glare that you see in most of this video, and you can see the screen much better when it dims after a bit of inactivity.
I'd also really like to see the speed of the camera in between taking pictures and how long they take to process?

Unfortuanatly I figured out the brightness down thing after I made all these vidoes LOL. Oh well. Sure, I'll do a whole deeper look to the phone in general :) I'll record and upload tonight. Along with (if I remember) a sample of the recording quality in a pub!

the tv you are watching it on has to be dlna enabled (built in) and then you should be able to pick up the dnla signal from your tv and stream it :)

Thanks for reply, but have you tried a different SIM? If not, could you try please if you have one, as I know that for example T-Mobile and O2 usually don't lock their upgrades... but not sure about Orange.

Hmmm, I can only try it with another Orange SIM as I don't have one off another network sorry. However, I'm still going to think that the phone is locked. The phone only became available the other day to Orange, and it's exclusive too. Mine wasn't a normal upgrade either... I said I was going to leave, then they just offered me a better deal. Hope that helps, as I'm sure 99% sure it's locked :)

so at least you will know if your phone is locked or not;)

Oooh, touch decision. I went for Omnia HD cause I'm a dedicated Orange user :) lol.
Even I find it hard to say why not to get the iphone... I didn't cause I have an ipod touch. I didn't want 2 identical devices :P Plus, I want a good camera as my phone has always acted as both, so the Omnia was a no brainer for me when I saw its specs.
But the iphone has the app store... which is just amazing imo. I'm addicted to it on my ipod!!!

yep, both are very nice though not perfect imo so difficult to choose:) design, camera, features etc.
the main thing is that I want a big capacitive screen, so the choice is very limited... for exmple LG Arena would be very nice but the sreen is only 3.0 and a bit too small for me...
I owned iPod Touch for a week and was blown away by it's capacitive screen and UI, I actually used mainly the web browsing and other stuff but not iPod by itself:) anyway after my HTC Tytn II I was very impressed:)

Could you show us how well the browser operates? Speed of loading the page matters most, but also if you could test something like a youtube HD clip through the browser on the phone that would be great, as it would give us an idea if Hulu would work for us in the States :)

I've got the wifi set up on it which works fine (a little slow, but that's because my internet connection is terrible anyway).
I can't try non-wifi internet though because I need to ring orange for them to update my SIM. I've been a but too busy with exams at the moment to be able to.

I was also worried about the talk of the battery cover, but it's very secure! It actually takes me a fair bit of effort to get it off, so I know it won't be coming off accidentally anytime soon.
Unfortuanatly my laptop can't play HD videos, so I don't have any to see if it works. Though I've put the season 5 finale of lost on it (2 episodes in one) and it looks fantastic. My futurama movies didnt work... maybe wrong format. I'll include it in the next video I do showing off the games :)

I tried both. One played for 3 seconds and stopped (both sound and video). The other (realplayer) had an error message warning that it won't work properly, then just played the sound. Quite wierd...
