you should just cut it in half scoop out the seeds rub it with olive oil salt and pepper and roast it at 3:50 for 35 minutes in the oven ...let it sit 10 min and scoop it out...
Just wanted to tell you, i made this for dinner tonite and it was really really good. Im on a low carb diet and its nice to find another way to use spaghetti squash. So thanks again for the great recipe.
excellent video, thanks for the great recipe and the warning about turkey meatballs lol. keep up the low carb way of eating..its light years ahead of any other eating lifestyle.
this is awesome. my mom made it tonight and i was a bit skeptical at first. im a huge pasta fan. i was really suprised! turned out great and microwaving it is quick and easy so i might be making this myself sometime soon! good bachelor food!
You seem to be very misinformed so ill let you know. to lose body fat, exercise. Weight train first then cardio. Find you maintenance calories then cut that by 500 and you will have your caloric deficit. Calories mean way more than what you eat. CARBS ARE GOOD FOR YOU!!!! lol
I think you were so quick to correct me that you didn't pay any attention to my vid lol. I never said carbs weren't good for you. I said that I cut them out of my DINNER. That is a personal choice. Also most of the people who watch my vids know that I encourage working out. I work out 6 days a week (weight training and cardio) and encourage my viewers to do so. Thank you for the info, it was helpful...but please pay closer attention next time.
The bottom line is low carb is the new "low fat" from 20-30 years ago. It promotes even more chemical laden foods instead of real whole foods. I do like how you promote whole food and not processed food. But squash is a prime example of the worst carbs one can eat im sorry. pure sugar and little else but some stray vitamins.
@steveWOW1 Wow, indeed. You obviously have a very incomplete idea of how your body works. That's really sad. You should study a bit, and learn how and why the human body makes fat. Calories have little to do with it.
Yes, muscle tissue burns more calories, or more importantly, more glucose than does fatty tissue. However, this seems to be the extent of your knowledge. You should really learn something about it .Go do some research, instead of just parroting what other people have told you.
@steveWOW1 actually carbs are whats killing the country..30 million diabetics PROVE that carbs are not good for you..a carb is noting but glucose..whats so great about that!
Thanks for the video! I made this dish last night and my parents and I Loved it! My lil sis refused to try it but she's a teen so what can u do :P lol. I looked up spaghetti squash and it IS low carb. Even if it weren't it's still a vegetable so it's GOOD FOR YOU!!!
@Steve: Leave Miss Diva alone and let her do her thing :) thanx!
No carb mean? Spaghetti squash is pure carbohydrate...it's calories are all SUGAR which is in fact the worst kind of carb you can eat. you are much better off using WHOLE GRAIN pasta...
That meal looked great!!! I saw the comment about how you roast the seeds and make the homemade meatballs, so I wanna know that too!!! Whenever I can get out of this blizzard I'm gonna make sure I pick it up :-)
It looks good. I will try that. I love pasta but I need to cut back so I will try it out. Thanks!! (ps) the fast forward part had me LMAO so thanks for that too
Right now...I am not having carbs (breads, pasta, wraps, rice, etc) at all. If i do, occasionally it will be whole wheat (not wheat...it must say whole wheat). I still have fruits and veggies. I don't deprive myself of it, but since cutting it out, I don't feel a need for it. So this is a realistic method for me. Cutting simple carbs (white breads/ white pastas) helps to assist in weight loss...because they they turn to sugar which leads to weight gain
Yes, blend it up after cooking the squash add eggs, butter, cream and spices, bake it in an almond or pecan crust, top it with whipped cream and you will be in low carb, pie heaven!!
I keep telling myself that I'm going to try squash this time of year, but never really do. This recipe reminds me to take a look at spaghetti squash on my next grocery shopping trip. I like that you did double (more like triple LOL) duty in the kitchen. I do the same thing too. I'll have the microwave and stove (and sometimes oven) all going at the same time too. How do you roast the seeds and make your meatballs? I would enjoy seeing those videos too ;-). Cool alternative to pasta!
I'm glad you like. I actually cook those at sepearte times. I haven't mastered cooking different items in the oven at the same time. I'm always scared to do that lol.
I love all kinds of squash and cook squash often. I put it in my homemade chicken soup This dish looks DELICIOUS! I make my meatballs from scratch too using turkey ground meat. I'm going to make this dish this week. The only thing is I'm against cooking using a microwave, so I will have to boil my squash on top the stove. I've never owned a microwave and never will. I was even offered one for free and turned it down. Thank you very much for this tutorial.
you could also cook the squash in the oven. Split it in half, lay in a baking dish with a little less of 1 inch of water (lay in open side down). Back on 350 for an hour.
ohhh yes. When i eat it by it's self it has a slight sweet nutty taste to it. It's not bland at all. Then once I add in the sauce...i don't even notice the taste (weird...i know)
That i honestly don't know. I don't like to count calories...but... check out the vid in the description box. You can see the original vid I got this idea from. The women cooks her meals based on weight watchers and also posts the calories at the end of the vid. Hopefully that will help you out...cause I suck at that lol

You cook squash the hard way. Just cut it in half raw and put it in a pot of boiling water until done. take out and scape with fork....
cfoster3406 1 year ago
@cfoster3406 eh, I wouldn't say it's that hard way...but the fastest.

Spaghetti squash is 100% Sugar carbs. The worst kind of carbs for a fat loss diet. You are much better off using WHOLE GRAIN pasta.

This is great! Though i'm discouraged by the knife part, lol. How long do you suggest placing the squash in the oven if we don't have a microwave?

I would suggest an hour.
