Hello. Yes,as you say, Bachmann's models are very well made these days.Recently they issue many models with DCC/sound.I think they are all good looking and well made in detail, and a little bit expensive.
@houtokur8 yeah i was affraid you were going to say that, but now that im thinking, i do not need to add too much more weight to the cars, and plus there is only 7 cars so idk maybe it will pull, nice locomotive by the way! and thanks for all of your help
a good thing to do that im doing is im getting the new one shiny mars light 4449 bachmann of course and im getting a soundtraxx tsunami heavy steam sound decoder and setting it to the daylight i tested its whistle on their samples next to the real thing and its accurate it also has the airhorn
Is that right? I think there are many different ways enjoying model trains. I once saw GS-4 pulling mixed trains on real railroad. You can enjoy model trains as you like.
ok thank you very much. a few last things, how does the engine perform at slow speeds? also, does the body (shell) of the locomotive shift sideways after negotiatiing a turn like some other bachmann trains.
I like MTH HO but still really good vid

Hello.Thank you for watching my video and for a comment.
Yes,you are right. MTH products are really well made but for me they are relatively expensive.

@flashperson
Hello.Thank you for watching my video.
This Bachmann-made loco can pull a long train. However, this engine is not equipped with sound.
I enjoyed some of your train videos.

@houtokur8 because im looking for a daylight gs4 that can pull weighted cars about an almos 2% grade, think this can handle it?
flashperson 1 year ago
@flashperson
Hello. As a matter of fact I haven't tested if Bachmann GS4 can pull a heavy train on 2% grade hill.I am afraid it needs more weight on the engine.

would this engine work on 18" radius curves, do those coaches have interiors and do u know anyone else that carries daylight coaches??
solidshots23 1 year ago
@solidshots23
Hello. Thank you for watching my video and asking me a question.
I think 18" radius curve tracks are OK although 22" radius are recommended by manufacturer.
My coaches are made by Con-Cor and have no interiors. They are inexpensive.
Mike's Train House and Broadway Limited have just released new Daylight coaches that have interiors but are way expensive..

Wow!! It's great you are going to get a new Bachmann GS4 and getting a Soundtaxx Tsunami sound decoder.
I can imagine that you now enjoy your new locomotive with Tsunami sound.

I used to have the ho scale daylight but it was broken. Fell and hit the concrete :(
I miss this train so much. oh well i get another one.

No wonder you miss GS4. As you think this locomotive is one of the most loved engines in the world .

you can say that again. Southern pacifc daylight is legendary

Isn't BLI coming out with their GS-4 model?
Jared1452 2 years ago
Yes,BLI has shipped out the GS-4 and Daylite Passenger cars. They seem pretty well made.
The locomotive sounds good and puffs smoke.
houtokur8 2 years ago
@houtokur8 where did u hear the engines sounds?
thelastprimerules 1 year ago
Would have been a better Daylight if you hadn't used Con Cor Sleepers, or dome cars , which vista domes or dome obs.
HunterR909 2 years ago
Yes,you are right. As you say ConCor passenger cars aren't well made. I would like to get those of MTH made.
houtokur8 2 years ago
Anyway, it is a big improvment if the decoder is replaced as you can see on mine You Tube. Nice regards again

hello, What do you think about this engine in his low speed range? What kind of DCC system do you use? I myself use a Roco lokmaus 3 system.
02081912Frabas 2 years ago
Hello, this Bachmann made GS4 is a little bit noisy in its slow speed. I use Digitrax DCS50K and Bachmann EZ Command.
They both have only ten function keys.
houtokur8 2 years ago
Wow, I didn't know they make round end observation cars with domes on top in Daylight colors.
ThomasRivette 2 years ago
Hello.Thank you for watching my video and giving me a comment.
I was afraid Southern Pacific didn't run Dome observation cars in Daylight color. Please ignore it.
houtokur8 2 years ago
Are you kiding, I love it. Where can I get it?
ThomasRivette 2 years ago
Hello. I don't know if it's still available now, but I bought it directly from Con-cor factory.
Why don't you check their Website and look for "85ft. corrugated passenger cars"?
houtokur8 2 years ago
I was talking about models.
ThomasRivette 2 years ago
Yes.Check Con-cor's homepage.
houtokur8 2 years ago
i want one, how much is it?
trainlover479 2 years ago
Hello. Thank you for a comment.
It is made by Bachmann and I bought it for about $140. It's DCC equipped and well made.

My GS-4 pulls well but I understand MTH one looks good and way better made.

Thank you for watching my video and giving me a comment.
I watched your Daylight Loco in your video.I am sure your loco is same as mine.
houtokur8 3 years ago
Thanks, sadly, I don't have any Daylight cars. & I only have 2 passenger cars, so I can only have it pull freight trains & mixed trains.

Thanks,

Hi,David
Thank you for watching my video.
This Bachmann made GS-4 has double headlights but don't blink.
houtokur8 3 years ago
thanks, but the top light on this locomotive appear to be on, but very dark. can that be changed?
Again, great video
thanks
1234567890bf2 3 years ago
Hi,again.
I am afraid top light does not be turned on, neither side lights.
houtokur8 3 years ago
ok thank you very much. a few last things, how does the engine perform at slow speeds? also, does the body (shell) of the locomotive shift sideways after negotiatiing a turn like some other bachmann trains.
thanks again,
david
1234567890bf2 3 years ago
Hi,David
Since this Bachmann loco is DCC operated,it performs well at slow speed, but hums badly.
As I use 810mm(about 32 inches) radius tracks, I don't find a bad sideways-shift of the locomoteve.
Andy
