@KitaxNekoSama57 Thank you. I believe it's never explained in game but (as seen in the instruction manual to F-Zero and in Super Smash Brothers) Captain Falcon may have used his Falcon Flyer. Unlikely, but the story is pretty random anyway.

He was trying to get Falcon's attention. The whole reason he started a roit in Lightning was because Black Shadow knew that Captain Falcon would come alone. Then, Shadow would be able to try and 'eliminate' Falcon before the Grand Prix (which he needed to win to get the Champion's Belt for Deathborn)

in my game when i raced goroh in hard mode he died kinda funny so to insure i didnt die i took my time about 5 min. cus 1 hit would kill me
