I remember this park and all the fun we had. The last time I was there was the early to mid 70's before they closed it. My ex hubby and I went on the ferris wheel, he screamed bloody murder to be let off the ride cuz he was getting sick. LOL. I can still hear him screaming. Too funny. Thanks for bringing back some great times for me.
I was only two at the time of this video and had not set foot at Riverview Park yet. Some of my best childhood memories are at Riverview. Who ever decided to put an Amusement park on the island was a genius. Two bad they can't rebuild something similar there.
Thanks Gary - that brings back memories. I think the cars and planes were the same when I was a kid mid-70s. Isn't the merry-go-round buldiing still there? I know there was efforts to revitalize the park, but I believe that idea has been dead for years. Long live the Wild Mouse!
I wish there was more of it.. I have to be honest, i'm not old enough to remember this park, though my parents went there. I transfer a ton of film in Des Moines, so i'll be on the lookout for more of Riverview.

The car track still remains to this day though it will most likely be gone in the next few months when a new levee is built. Great video though!
