There is a fine line between discipline and abuse,My father was strict,at that time, I thought he was hard on me,but years later, I learned something very valuable,He said if he never disciplined me,the world would have,through PRISON, When I became a Correctional Officer in a max prison,I saw the light. Hi Wordavee. Most people do not realize that there is a fifth category of abuse... it is called Spiritual abuse. This is when people abuse others in the name of God and use the Bible and their authority (head of the family) to manipulate and abuse others. These people are not true Christians (a heart transformed by Christ) but they claim to be. In the same way, just because u put on a cowboy hat & some boots does not make u a true cowboy. God cannot stand abuse, & will judge those 4 their acts

We are not obsessed with god, I would be very happy if you stayed in your churches and mosques and did good works, but when you come out and deny the titanic amounts of work done to inprove our lives by scientists, try to curtail our freedoms of speech and thought to comply to your beliefs, and kill us simply for not believing what you believe, then we have to fight back. In one day the chronic depression that I had for years and years, that no therapists could help, and then the Lord in one day healed me. Yet I can do this for myself.

Jesus Christ lives, he is our Lord and our Savior and we need him for much more then getting over abuse, physical or mental issues. We need him to save our souls.

Thank you for sharing your testimony. I`m glad your relationship was restored w/your parents. You are around my age & that era of parents seemed to be much more authoritarian than parents these days. So I can imagine them trying to be good parents by following really bad advice (although the advice was considered good of course). Anyway, child abuse is always a sad testament of mankind.

I don't think God forgives anyone who does not truly repent. So, neither do I. I also don't think God wants us to be credulous. However, I do believe that unreasonable pride is a sin and opens the door to all kinds of horrible stinking crap. So, I rely on Christ for Ultimate Justice (either he paid or they will) and it is because of that Justice and the power of God that I can overcome my vanity and let go. Yet, I won't forget and will not trust them until they prove themselves worthy.
