Oh my f'n god I could not remember the damn name or artist of this song for about a damn YEAR! And randomly I just remembered and I haven't been happier!
What an amazing song!! I was 13yo when this song came out and it was one of the first albums I bought back in the day. This is the kind of music that brings back memories!!
@zcomecuca ehhh im not ashamed to admit it. Hall & oates is a great group! and masturbating at the time was a "Normal" teenage thing. i would even sit out and jack off my other guy friends or finger my girl friends whoever sat out in the car with me at lunchtime!
I saw Daryl Hall back in 1982-1983 in Tower Records in NYC - and he was singing this song with a pack a cigarettes in his tee shirt pocket. I remember just standing there watching him soaking it all in, his wheat colored hair and his beautiful green eyes. This man was georgous in every way. I'm glad I've had this opportunity and always loved this song. There are moments in life we all remember, I will always treasure this one...
Simply put,,, these men are excellent musicians (the bass player really stands out in this respect). They hit it out of the ball park on this one. I've especially liked this song for the longest time; the composition, arrangement and production are first class. In certain way, indistinguishably vague now in retrospect ,,,(the 80's were like that!!) this beautiful song saved my life more than once. RIP Lanci,,

WOW! Hall & Oates were imo one of the top recording artists of the 80s. They kept cranking out hit after hit. Such great musicians whose music has stood the test of time and what wonderful times they were. It still sounds as great as it did back then. I loved it back then and still do!
This Song is For My Baba!!! We Can Now do One On One Together without getting into Trouble. My Baba and I met in Elem.School and it was so hard not to do that! Now we can without getting into trouble because We're Adults! We Can't Wait to do One On One Together!!! This Song is for My Baba from her Boyfriend/Husband!!!
I got this Hall and Oates Tape and I'll play this Song when I'm with my Current Girlfriend/Wife and She Will Love it A Lot!!! I Will Love it A Lot Too!!!!!
Pretty Quick my Current Girlfriend and I will Do One On One Together and many More and We Can't Wait!!! I'm getting a Boner just thinking about it and when my Girlfriend/Wife here's this song playing on the Radio she will be thinking about me and she will be getting Wet!! Thank God my Girlfriend/Wife can do something about it now because it was so hard not to do this when we were kids because we would of gotton into Trouble but now We're Adults and Now We Can and We Can't Wait!!!

@BBQFanNo1 well, actually, I was ignoring these comments, considering you all have a boner for a band from the 80's, but it's startin to get annoying, so get this straight middle aged losers: my GIRLFRIEND made my youtube account, she is the one who made me join youtube in the first place, thats right, girlfriend, something you guys havn't had since hall and oats had a #1 song, now when was that?
and this is the worst song I've ever heard in my life.
@KittensXD Well we see who wears the pants in the family. See my girlfriend has a youtube account as well and she couldn't have made me get anything other than whats required of a non pussy-whipped straight middle-aged cat. Wow blaming your girlfriend for your being on here while looking up a Hall & Oates classic then bashing on people who appreciate it for the classic it is would indeed be quite gay.....
@zebbie2000 actually, i was looking for a song with a similar name (or at least i thought) it turned out the name couldn't have been further from it, but i wasn't blaming my girlfriend, i was just saying that's why my name is what it is.
And as i said before, there's a reason these people haven't ever had a number one
@KittensXD Uh... I'm truly sorry to break this to you but.... Hall & Oates had SIX Number 1 records guy... Look it up..... You don't have to like them but don't disrespect them to not even research before you say things you don't know about. I have varied musical tastes and I seem to recognize apparently that some CURRENT artists like the "80's bands" like H&O enough to mimic and use samples and do updated versions of some of their songs.......I don't know.... So what "current" band is it that you nut-hug that makes you an expert on bands... 80's or other. Keep it mature Troll is really played out.... this is a conversation... ah kids
@zebbie2000 calling me a troll isn't an insult, I basically just called myself one XD well, I don't like the popular bands right now all too much because rap isn't my style, but here are some bands that I like that still get a lot of fans, high ratings, and hit songs in their genre: Yellowcard sum41 panic! at the disco Rise Against (new album just came out :3) blink 182 we the kings skillet meh, a few others
Another great tasty bass line by the late, grea T-bone Wolk. Listen to all the great hits from Hall and Oates and the great contribution he made. Good work T-Bone!
Did you know that this song is not really a love song? They wrote this song because the were so overwhelmed by their notoriety at that time and just wanted to be out of the public eye. Eventually they did just disappear and said they should do so while at the top of their game. The girlfriend and sister of Darryl were regular contributors to the ideas and lyrics of their songs, almost like a family business. Also, they were managed by Tommy Motola-once married to Mariah Carey.....
MAn this song is still banging. They kicked the door down for white atrist in r&b. Christina, Justin and Mariah betta thank heavens for Daryl and John
Now I know why I liked this song so much in my youth, looking past the melody and the words as I understood them at 20 years old. Wow, thanks for the insight.
Cool white boys. I remember seeing them on Soul Train. Do you hear Daryl’s riffs 'oh oh I can feel the magic of your touch...mmhm' Classic. I was grooving to this at 15 and still bobbing my head to it at forty. Eminem and Justin betta thank Daryl and John, they kicked that door wide open. Thanx AssortedGenre!

@SouthSdChi WOW! I can understand that being the case if your friend was say 25 or younger, but 36? That is crazy. Did you send this to your friend so they could hear it for the first time?

This is a very good song of "One on One" because it sounds like both Daryl and John were being very emotional about the song. Alaina
