  • Thanks for sharing buddy. And never ever stop playing.. I did from the age 28 to 52 and now those lost years make me feel miserable. Not to mention I have to start all over again... Almost... Good interpretation. and ; it is your own.

  • sounds good to me. i love the sound of the piano sounds slightly out of tune..

  • i want my 7:16 of my life back having to listen to this valse being butchered

  • Dear Herbert Midgley: Mr. Chopin meant for the Waltz (valse) in A minor to be sad and melancholy. And a moody piece of music shouldn't be rushed nor played too precisely. In that way, it keeps its intended moodiness. Bravo! You got it exactly right. Stick with it Mr. Midgley.

  • i personally love this song played at a very slow, thoughtful tempo, especially at the beginning. also, it's chopin, throw in some rubato! but better than I could play it, it's a wonderful piece.

  • this boy has some ground-features that are really good and serve as a good and ~secure~ base.

Even time-structure is in some parts very solid.

So you are well-adviced and fully legitimated to just go on with your playing and show your results in Youtube.

I really like several qualities you show (and therefore have)

  • I don't know why everyone is hating on this kid! You know he may not be the greatest piano player in the world. I agree. But at the same time, where is your video of you playing chopin waltz in a minor, on youtube? I have to give it to him though, he is out there trying to make something of himself. You haters have nothing better to do then sit at home and hate! Lighten up! Life is to short. One last thing, go ahead and hate on me, if you'd like! You see, hate doesn't affect me.

  • Poor chair...

  • You suck fatman!

  • lets see how you played the song well

  • Many thanks.

  • Some of the comments were excessive, but the tempo does need to increase a little. However, tempo will come with practice - playing the notes and playing them evenly is more important.

And the penultimate portion of the piece (start 5:48) was very well-done, the section I struggle with. Your best section is my worst - ha! This is a great piece, don't stop playing it!

  • very slow, it needs to be studied a lot more. keep studying it

  • Wth. it says CHOPIN, WALTZ IN A MINOR.

i belive that is something differnt.

    ..but nice job anyways.

  • This is a Valse in A minor.. You're right!

  • i actually think he played quite ok, except the recording is very bad and his tempo lacks variation.

  • It's not bad, but the recording is horrible, I really think it takes away from the performance.

P.S. Pretty much everyone here that is criticizing this unfairly probably can't even play this piece... to those I'm speaking of: suck it or grow up. :)

  • wtf is this....

  • My God, everyone...he tired. Leave him alone. -.-;; I can't stand how people insult others with the piano. Unless you can do better than him, shut the Hell up. 'Kay? And if you can do better than him...shut up anyway. If you don't like it, don't watch it, and make a comment. Honestly...

  • No shit. Never heard of Horowitz ripping on a novice for giving it a go. I'm sure Ashkenazy would rather sit at the piano and work on his own playing than be rude about someone else's.

Those guys love the music and I'm sure they would offer great advice to improve, but not in the idiotic fashion everybody on the internet is such a fan of.

    Damn.

  • well said my friend

  • this is so full of fail.

  • I'm a terrible fan of Chopin, and it's brutalizing to see his piece ripped apart in this way. PLEASE! A bit faster! More feeling! More songlike!

P.S.: I have the urtext edition, and it is the Grande Valse brilliante in A minor.

  • im sorry but, all you do is hit the good notes, with regular errors...

its a good try but try too trill a lot faster,

and this is no good emotional touch...

you must be a bit faster, and with better rhythms...

    althoug well tried!

listen to other compositions of this work and im sure you will be able to play it a lot better next time!

  • this isn't chopins waltz in a minor!

  • Terrible peformance. Does the player feels the rythm at all?

  • whats the hells up with playing the trill when its a mordant written?

  • this isn't waltz in A minor

    srry lol

  • if its not waltz in A minor then what is it cause im trying to find this song i abousolutly love it.

  • This the "Grande valse brillante" in A minor, op.34, no. 2. Might be that there are more A minor valses...

  • this is waltz in A minor

  • off course it is... op.34 no.2 ... it's not the more famous waltz in a minor played by e.g. you
