basically all of this incident was caused by pepsi and their workers who were incharge of the pyrotechnics. pepsi later tried to blame michael for putting on too much hair gel and pepsi said that it was made worse by the hair gel, they basically tried to make out that everything would have been fine if michael hadn't been wearing so much hair gel which is absolute nonsense.
