This is excellent! Our text book on my Anatomy & Physiology class leaves a lot to be desired and doesn't make anything easy to understand. However, you make it quite easy to grasp the concepts by explaining things as simply as possible.

isn't that explanation for NON-STEROIDAL hormones only (1st & 2nd msgr system)??? steroidal hormones act differently, don't they?

Yes, this is used by protein hormones. Steroid hormones are fat soluble, so they actually enter through the cell membrane, attaching to a receptor site in the cytoplasm. The receptor brings the steroid hormone into the nucleus where it gives instruction for protein synthesis.
