  • jeden Euro für Ireland, but no Euro for Greece this lacy peple, which are lyers und sie sind korrupt, the greece people and they are lyers. not honest like irish people are.

  • @segdaas bitte does not mean thanks if that was your point...

  • RONNIE DREW CRASHED HIS CAR THROUGH A FENCE ONE NIGHT DEAD DRUNK,WHEN THE POLICE SERGEANT ASKED HIM IF THERE WAS ALCOHOL INVOLVED. HE SAID OF COURSE THERE WAS DO YOU THINK I`M A STUNTMAN

  • @221flynnbrian This is great! Thank you!

  • I miss Ronnie Drew! Dublin personified!

  • Sounds like my Uncle Pat's wake... only he didn't rise. But my two cousins did get in a fight at the after party and a bottle of corn whiskey made it clear cross the room and smashed in the fire place.... nothing like a good funeral.

  • the guy in the preview picture with the noose round his neck looks just like irish from red dead redemption

  • what a singer and whata guy

  • This song is great but that bit at the end is so gay.

  • I recently learned that Ronnie Drew died a few years ago. It was the biggest disappointment of my life.. ;(

  • merry xmas to eire and the uk love all u both. i live on from my irish grandfathers wake ....

  • I´am basque,i love this music,is the soul of Ireland.

  • Who is the man in the photo being lynched?

  • @AMSGRADE8

    Ronnie Drew

  • @Cathain78 Ok, I thought it was one of the members of the Easter Rising.

  • I listened to this when I was 9 years of age on a vinyl record- my parents (dad - from Mayo, Mum - from Kerry) were playing the card game 25 with friends from Mayo - I can still smell the whiskey, bacon and cabbage, soup and crisps and hear them cursing at each other in Gaelic as they won and lost hands. I am currently drinking lots of red wine and cursing (in Gaelic) my typing. Anyone for a game of 25?

  • @carolvoder My Granny and Dad who are both Irish curse in Gaelic, unfortunately I haven't a clue what they are saying. Despite this they hold a certain place in my memories too :).

  • As an American I am very jealous of the culture and history of countries like Ireland and Germany. with not even 250 years behind us we can't seem to talk about anthing but a few wars and try to pretend slavery didn't happen.

  • My question as a true fan of Irish music:

What's that f****** awsome song about!? xD

I love to listen to it, but i don't understand a single word, nor the story told...

  • @TheRockYouNeed

try google with : Finnegan's Wake lirycs..

  • @TheRockYouNeed i irishman is very drunk and falls of a lader and they think he is dead. then then strong smell of whisky wakes him up. this is wut i think but i may be wrong

  • @porygon110

    thx :D

  • @porygon110

The people at the wake get drunk and fights break out. Someone throws a bottle of whiskey and it spills all over the corpse. The spirit revives the corpse and brings the man back to life and he joins in the party :)

  • please explain the fellow in the noose; one of my ancestors?

  • whisky or whiskey ?!?!

    question from a german :)

  • Comment removed

  • @eRaZeHyDrOzZ whiskey is the name given if it was made in ireland or america, whisky is used for everything else.

    answer from an irishman :)

  • @rokkinink ^^ thx

  • @rokkinink

Almost - "whisky" is the name that was used everywhere until the Scotch producers trademarked the name. So now Whisky refers to the Scottish stuff and Whiskey refers to everything else. I actually prefer Irish whiskey as it's a lot smoother. Blended Scotch can be pretty rough on the throat, although the better quality single malts can be sublime. If you can't afford a good malt though, go for an Irish. A good Jameson's is hard to beat :)

  • @Cathain78 I totaly agree

just bought a bottle of Jameson to celebrate the days between the years.

Learned to love it as I had the pleasure to ride and hunt in Co Limerick

  • @Cathain78 guess it depends on who's tellin ya! just lookin it up now and every other site is basically sayin what i said, tho i did know that the change in name came about because the scottish producers wanted 2 distinguish themselves from other producers. I've got 2 agree with ya on the Irish whiskey over the Scotch tho, like ya said ya cant beat a good Jameson! Happy drinkin my man!

  • @eRaZeHyDrOzZ Whiskey haha :) :)

  • My only question is why this has 11 dislikes.

  • 26+6=1 UP THE RA!!!! BATTLED BUT NEVER BEATEN IRELAND WILL BE FREE FROM THE EVIL BRITISH HUNS SOON

  • irish misic always makes you want a drink

  • @MrMrbobblehead

Very true! You can't stay sober while heraring this.

    Greetings from Germany...oh and cheers!

  • scrapman999 ya if they try to force their religion on me... america will never be a islamic state neither will ireland

  • @imrightyourwrong24 Sounds like you have your head in a state already!

  • Fuckin wankers the lot o ye!

    Good song!

  • why is it on every irish song i find there is at least 1 comment about terrorism/america or the IRA it has nothing to do with it. love Ireland, enjoy music :)

  • @Snowboarder1995able too right mate enjoy the music and quit babblin on about shit that dont bloody matter

  • scrapman999 and if you try to say martyrdom then you need to look that word up every pussy hijacker on those planes committed suicide and is rotting in hell along with every cleric that has circumcised a little girl your version of islam offends the world not just me so go back to durka durka ville and fuck off

  • @imrightyourwrong24 Female circumcision is a cultural act not religious, pussy hijackers are people feel such a great sense of injustice and are willing to do something about it, terrorism is wrong, but what leads to those acts isnt being resolved, the muslim lands carry an inordinate share of the worlds poor and the west manipulates their politics and props up tyrannical leaders. The pussies are the politicians who are too self-interested to try to fix poverty.

  • @PVSJuicer To right my friend!!! All we get is propoganda news. Anyone who really wants to really read into it will find out the truth problem is people don't and are happy to believe the bull shit

  • Comment removed

  • @scrapman999 Since there's only about 5 million muslims in America, the matter of time you are talking exists only in your delusions.

  • scrapman999 im not trying to be harsh on islam dont get me wrong but i dont think you guys have a chance in hell of taking over america we are one of the most gun carrying societies and we are the first country to use terrorism so bring your camel jocky simple self over and see if you can touch us with out killing your self...... you guys need to read the q'uran more often then you would realise suicide is unforgivable

  • scrapman999 dude i was drunk and made a typo thats why there is a asterisk at the beginning habeb... why are even watching this if your a pro english muslim. and i never said i was catholic you fuckin camel jocky go new york and talk your bin laden bull shit. god bless ireland and god bless the u.s

  • Comment removed

  • @scrapman999

ha no one wants to be islamic! the only people that practice it are the ones that were brainwashed as children, but thats true for all the religions

  • @purpleSun6292 ensuring you carry a superiority complex through life by only seeing difference and condemning others adds nothing to this world.

If you had spent any time living with muslims you'd understand all the lies you are being fed and soaking in through the proagandist media, you simply have no idea what you are talking about. Your ignorance is disgusting and you are a hateful person.

  • @purpleSun6292

    Particularly militant Atheism ;-)

  • @scrapman999 I don't think religious take-over and death of cultural diversity is anything to be bragging about . . . you sound like one of those crazy modern fascists . . . Have fun in "Amerika" though. I live there, and it's shit at the moment, so I'm not so certain there's much you could do to make it WORSE . . .

  • @scrapman999

That's kinda fucked up. I'm an american, and I'm not a patriot or anything but goddamn. People died trying to save others that day.

  • I may have been born in America...but I'm an Irish girl and I'm raising a glass(or twelve) to the Dubliners and Ronnie. Thanks, mate, for letting me see Ireland through your music when I could never visit on my own.

  • @xeiroe This is local Irish Music as brilliant as it is but come to Ireland and see what music can be - mind you you need the key - It's not given to everyone

  • @xeiroe you had me at (or twelve) !!!!

  • Oh sweet Jesus they were in Doolin 1979 ,good old days!

  • Poetry.

  • and the moral is - lay off the whisky lads

  • @SuperMark77777 - No, what? The moral is that whiskey is water of life!

  • @SuperMark77777 dont be stupid

  • @SuperMark77777 Sub par to average at best mark77777: Lay ON the whiskey! No man has ever died from drinking good irish or scotch whiskey. Why do they call it the water of life? It extends your life and brings vitality and vigor. Don't be such a lame wanker. Pour yourself a good measure of jameson or bushmills, or as i prefer, a johnny walker, and live life!

I once met him backstage when I was a teenager, and I recall him being so very friendly and charming, after the show still sparkling with energy and wit then, inviting me out with his family - but alas, my dad was waiting for me outside, so I could not. A chance passed.
