"Highly recommended for anyone interested in an upclose and personal look at the harrowing bloodshed of the Vietnam War." 5 Stars - Midwest Book Review
Great vid, love the pipes, thanks... Can you tell me which AHC flew the Combat Assault for the instertion? Thanks, from the son of an Army Aviator that flew a tour in Vietnam...
The 3/21 Battalion logs don't show which birds were at the pick up zone that day. However, it is most probable that it was the 71st AHC since they did most of the CAs for the 3/21. We were most likely picked up by the Rattlers.
As you can see by my screen name I'm the proud son of a Rattler. dad flew with them in '65-'66 before they moved to I Corps. As you know, the helicopter crews lived and died for the Infantry- you guys were the sole reason for Army Aviation. The crews felt a huge sense of responsibility for the Infantry.
@Grabump Thank you for your kind comment.

We as grunts always appreciated the good job the pilots did in getting us in and out of LZs, especially out.
