The 350 has a stock ET of 13.7. and twin turbos don't do anything without a built turbo engine to make full use of them. otherwise your stuck only running about 5-7psi. any more and like firecracker, zzzzzzzzzzz pop! but when you build up a turbo motor you can run considerably more boost. I can make a grocery cart out the 2 of them. its not the car, its the builder.

@squirrelTC I agree. The ford 302's, if you drop the comp. to about 8.5:1 and add some turbo pistons, they will throw out some outragous power. Large bore+ short stroke+ Boost = screamer. but fords can be spendy. If im on a budget I go chevy, nothing is cheaper than a 350!! and they like to be supercharged, add a cam, good heads and some ok aftermarket internals with the blower and you can get about 600 hp pretty easy.
I do agree that a twin turbo Z is going to put a hurting on a stock SRT-4, however a stock 350Z vs a stock srt-4 = advantage SRT-4, especially from a roll.
If the SRT-4 has some significant upgrades, big turbo, meth/water, etc, could very well pull on a twin turbo 350Z, but neither of these cars seem THAT fast :)
I should clarify: Yes I do know that the last year 350Z manual tranny was actually quicker than the stock SRT-4, but all the other ones were not, very very close but the SRT-4 was just a hair quicker. Now the 370Z, wow, best car out there for 30K

Agreed. Considering these cars stock for stock have similar track times. I own a 350Z and my roomate had an SRT-4 with a stage 1, intake, etc. basically same setup. Cool cars, but I'm sorry to say that a 350Z would blow the doors off of the SRT-4 if it was infact TT (as you said)

you dont determine a car's capability by racing on a straight line. Sure everyone likes drag racing but... the real way to learn how one car truly beats the other is in a track circuit. The SRT-4 with its front-wheel drive and supercharger, and since it's a lot less weightier than the 350 not to mention they handle pretty nicely, has the advantage over the 350Z, as much as you dont like that, it's a fact.
However since this was a straight race, 350 won with its superior speed
the 350 was designed for drifting, which would account for its power and heavier weight. as far as just on the track tho, im not quite sure but i do know that 350s do well on the track. i wanna see how well the 370's do
Just remember, Dart, the SRT-4 is lighter and has a supercharger, not a turbo. And a front-wheel drive nonetheless. Despite the small engine, a 4-cylinder, it's to he capability of beating a 350Z if you turn in right around the bends. I'd like to see an SRT-4 and a 350Z be driven by professionals to show this, and see which one's going to win.
yea im aware how a 4 cly fwd car does on a track. i own a 06 civic SI and its definently not a pushover on the track. its fun and keeps up with a lot of higher end cars exluding the evo and sti of course. however the type r civic and mugen si are awesome on the track, thats what they were specifically deisigned for.
well, the Neon has less weight and only four cylinders, along with a supercharger. It's a little different than a turbo-powered one. A turbo is charged when there's airflow, as opposed to the supercharger, which is always charged instead of shifting the turbo on each gear you shift. I'm not sure exactly if that's how it worked, but it's how I heard it worked. Then again, I'm no expert on car mechanics =/

@nissangtrable Srt 4 neon stock ET is approximatly 14.2 seconds. not what i would call slow for factory 4 clylinder. The 350 has a stock ET of 13.7. and twin turbos don't do anything without a built turbo engine to make full use of them. otherwise your stuck only running about 5-7psi. any more and like firecracker, zzzzzzzzzzz pop! but when you build up a turbo motor you can run considerably more boost. I can make a grocery cart out the 2 of them. its not the car, its the builder.

If you want a turbo, build a turbo motor. other wise i don't care what make the engine is, it will break somthing when you put boost to it. Extra pressure means more stress, more stress, you need stronger parts.

@boostin350z What? My friend has a 03 stock SRT-4 it maintains about 16-18 PSI. and we raced my stock 2003 350z from a 40 roll and man i had no hope. I have also saw a TT 350z beat a Gallardo. & I know Greddy makes a Damn good TT if he was truly racing im not impressed by the Z! He may have some Turbo lag or something. lol

@squirrelTC Even if it was a TT, you can't just slap a TT kit on a stock engine and get a whole lotta performance. probly only run about 5-7psi without blowing rings, head gaskets, or burning a hole in a piston.

@squirrelTC I agree. The ford 302's, if you drop the comp. to about 8.5:1 and add some turbo pistons, they will throw out some outragous power. Large bore+ short stroke+ Boost = screamer. but fords can be spendy. If im on a budget I go chevy, nothing is cheaper than a 350!! and they like to be supercharged, add a cam, good heads and some ok aftermarket internals with the blower and you can get about 600 hp pretty easy.

I do agree that a twin turbo Z is going to put a hurting on a stock SRT-4, however a stock 350Z vs a stock srt-4 = advantage SRT-4, especially from a roll.
If the SRT-4 has some significant upgrades, big turbo, meth/water, etc, could very well pull on a twin turbo 350Z, but neither of these cars seem THAT fast :)

Agreed. Considering these cars stock for stock have similar track times. I own a 350Z and my roomate had an SRT-4 with a stage 1, intake, etc. basically same setup. Cool cars, but I'm sorry to say that a 350Z would blow the doors off of the SRT-4 if it was infact TT (as you said)

you dont determine a car's capability by racing on a straight line. Sure everyone likes drag racing but... the real way to learn how one car truly beats the other is in a track circuit. The SRT-4 with its front-wheel drive and supercharger, and since it's a lot less weightier than the 350 not to mention they handle pretty nicely, has the advantage over the 350Z, as much as you dont like that, it's a fact.
However since this was a straight race, 350 won with its superior speed

the 350 was designed for drifting, which would account for its power and heavier weight. as far as just on the track tho, im not quite sure but i do know that 350s do well on the track. i wanna see how well the 370's do

Just remember, Dart, the SRT-4 is lighter and has a supercharger, not a turbo. And a front-wheel drive nonetheless. Despite the small engine, a 4-cylinder, it's to he capability of beating a 350Z if you turn in right around the bends. I'd like to see an SRT-4 and a 350Z be driven by professionals to show this, and see which one's going to win.

yea im aware how a 4 cly fwd car does on a track. i own a 06 civic SI and its definently not a pushover on the track. its fun and keeps up with a lot of higher end cars exluding the evo and sti of course. however the type r civic and mugen si are awesome on the track, thats what they were specifically deisigned for.

well, the Neon has less weight and only four cylinders, along with a supercharger. It's a little different than a turbo-powered one. A turbo is charged when there's airflow, as opposed to the supercharger, which is always charged instead of shifting the turbo on each gear you shift. I'm not sure exactly if that's how it worked, but it's how I heard it worked. Then again, I'm no expert on car mechanics =/
