im so high from oxcycontin tablets i got for my broken wrist un/fortunately i only got 3 left.
Porls left the band again. i bought a live charity cd of the cure and i was worried that rs was the only non bass guitar on it, but its good to hear how interesting and well he carries the show alone. but i missthe tension buildof the two guitars playing over the top of eachother in fascination street
1) PORL IS a paradigm shift on two legs walking --constantly-- never mind the ensuing band's "approach"....that's one of numerous reasons why I like & am inspired by his artist.
2) For me personally: no PORL, no concert ticket in hand.
3) BTW, as I've perceived it, concerning the art of stage- presence/performance/stamina/integrity, Porl surpasses the other band members faithfully, esp. on this latest tour (particularly the '07-'09 shows).
Hi everyone, I was the interviewer here. I didn't know these were up on YouTube! I'd won a radio contest for the opportunity to interview him. It was an honor and I was really happy (and nervous!) to have the chance to talk to him and ask him those questions. You can read a bit more about it on my band The Silence Kit's site, if you're interested. There's a link in a bulletin on my channel.
that was a killer show that night. it was great to see porl again. eventhough the cure started in the 70's they never went away. they have been producing relevant music the entire time, unlike some 80's nostaligia bands that broke up and got back together to tour for money. members of the cure have come and gone, but The Cure is Robert and Simon. without either of them there is no Cure.
Hair or not, Robert is still the same wonderful, intelligent, humble, shy person that he always has been and full of absolute talent!! It is what is on the inside of a person that counts, who they are, not on the outside because if you judge what is on the outside only, then you will be disappointed because we all change on the outside. It is a fact of life. Of course, some of us do change on the inside but luckily Robert hasn't!! Rock on forever Cure!!
Robert is a beautiful, wonderful, talented ,poetic genius of a man whether he has hair or not!!! Everyone changes on the outside , it is what is on the inside that counts and he has what counts!!!
Hair doesn't matter very much when you really think about it. Robert Smith will probably look half King Buzzo and half Larry Fine in few years, but I seriously doubt it will effect the music he's creating.
It's almost certainly a wig..A good one at that..Much easier to maintain when he's on tour..You only have to see the start of 'the Cure in Orange' to realize how much more of a benefit it would be for him. No more messing with it in front of the mirror etc..
Maintain?!?!? Lol, that's the beauty of Robert's hair. he doesn't have to maintain it. He wakes up in the morning (or afternoon..we all know how Robert loves his sleep) and it's done. He has said that many times in interviews.
Yeah, definitely. It'd make him look younger. I don't mind the makeup, it's his look and he wouldn't be who he is without it, but the hair needs a definite makeover. I remember during the KMKMKM days, he cut it very short and it looked really good-maybe he should do that again. LOL
I adore Robert-he's influenced me more than any other performer, but there is something really wrong with his hair in this video, it's too flat on top. I LOVE his look and persona, but he needs to tease the top of his hair.
@rockerbaby121 I saw him at London Heathrow airport 2 years ago. He signed about 15 autographs and then had to go. I got my pic with Smith and he signed a guitar magazine I had. My GF was able to snap 2 good pics.

The interviewer should have asked Robert how to spell "Fire in Cairo"

Well you people are lucky, you can watch this without problem. I can only listen, because if I look at his face, I hyperventilate and pass out.

Regarding the initial "Porl-Presence" question:

2) For me personally: no PORL, no concert ticket in hand.

Is that a wig Smith`s wearing? If not having that bird`s nest on my head 24/7 would really piss me off ; (

That was really strange and funny when Robert and the interviewer just appear in the video out of the blue (in the beginning).

He is 50. I am surprised that it lasted that long being male, over 40 and brutal hair hairstyling.

He's just balding - if you get a picture of him from behind it's very clear.
Yeah, maybe he needs a "Porl-makeover" :D

Wonderful man, and one of the most brilliant musicians ever, in my opinion. May The Cure continue to rock it till the end of time.

He is so cool... he appreciates his fans and wants to share his music. Unlike many greedy fucks in the music industry who just want to make money.
