I like how the GTR rolled out real slow, not using launch control so he would void the warranty, and still ran a 12.60, a good time for a stock GT500. BUT, 11.97 for a "Super Snake" is pretty lame... I'd expect it to be at least a half second quicker.
Being 6000' in altitude kills HP. Besides trap is a better indicator of how much power you're putting down. Et is also dependent on how well you deliver that power to the pavement especially the first 60'.. His trap was low too but I also contribute that to the altitude, lack of o2 and low barometric pressure.

The GT-R should have won this. It didn't even look like the Launch Control was even used(Probably a Driver Error). And American cars have always been known for their huge V-8's, Straight Line speed and lack of handling around corners. Don't get me wrong I'm an absolute Chevy fan for life but the GT-R is an amazingly designed and well executed car that if put into the hands of a proper driver would probably have beaten the Super Snake. But I guess props to the Stang' for pulling one over the GT-R

@000x7 If it rolls off the factory line with a supercharger, than it's stock. The only argument you could make of that is if the supercharger was an optional performance part offered by the manufacturer. Also, the wicked cam you're hearing is from the other car that went before the Mustang and GTR.

@kickwagon Negative, it does not roll off the factory stock since the Mustang does not come out of the factory a Shelby. The GT500 SuperSnake IS an aftermarket vehicle ordered through Shelby and can be only ordered through Shelby not the factory.

@StR1K3R3183 I wasn't refering to the Shelby Mustangs specifically in my last comment. With that said, I think you aren't entirely correct. Maybe a Ford dealership has to order the GT500 and Super Snakes from Shelby, but the typical consumer can walk right into a Ford dealer and buy a GT500, and in rare occassions a Super Snake if they have one in their showroom.

@kickwagon You're right that you can buy these from a dealer, but that is usually because the owner pre-ordered it from Shelby. Since they're aren't many Shelby dealerships around, if any, they deliver to the nearest Ford dealer you order from :)

The GT-R should have won this. It didn't even look like the Launch Control was even used(Probably a Driver Error). And American cars have always been known for their huge V-8's, Straight Line speed and lack of handling around corners. Don't get me wrong I'm an absolute Chevy fan for life but the GT-R is an amazingly designed and well executed car that if put into the hands of a proper driver would probably have beaten the Super Snake. But I guess props to the Stang' for pulling one over the GT-R

@Clatik how? the Super Snake has 300 more hp and torque. and a dragstrip with Rubber and VHT on the track thats all that matters. the only problem with the GT500s are traction. and at a strip a GT500 hooks up and flies. the gtr (WITH launch control) stood no chance at all.

@AdverbAdjective noooo the GT-R is above the Mustangs league all the GT-R needs is a driver mod. when those super snakes go 0-60 in 2.9 seconds stock then you can talk. until then have fun with you 4.0s :). gt-r's= 550 hp, 632 torque compared to the super snakes 750 hp and 650 torque and they both weight the same. where did that extra 200 hp go? thats embaressing

2013 GTR Stats:
0-60: 2.72 sec
0-100: 7.3 sec
1/4: 10.8 sec
The 2010 GT500 with 750 HP couldnt even get out of the 12's...
