I disagree. When running the 200 and 400 meters it important to hold your form throughout the race even the finish. Dipping your head will only slow you down more during the deceleration phase but that does work for the 100 meters.

They peak in their late 20's (around 28). 2nd, Usain was not at his best in Berlin because he lost a lot of 200m training time after his foot injury. So yes, he was definitely not running at 100% when he ran 19.19s. He was tired, his form was off, he was swaying all over the place. As he himself said, it was a fast time, but it was not a good race.

i dunno man it starts getting hella hard to improve as you get closer and closer to that sub50 mark..
i ran a 53.4 my sophomore year and expected to run a sub50 by junior year but only ended up running a 50.6 after a lot of hard work, sweat, and vomit..
i'm not saying you won't be able to do it i'm just saying not to expect a sub50 to be such an easy deal

I disagree. When running the 200 and 400 meters it important to hold your form throughout the race even the finish. Dipping your head will only slow you down more during the deceleration phase but that does work for the 100 meters.

Are you serious? Bolt's "attitude" has brought millions back to what was a dying sport. The fast times and the serious faces were doing nothing. His jovial and joking attitude has revitatlized the sport. So funny, because now most of them have taken a leaf from his book with the joking around and relaxing prior to races and even Tyson Gay has said Bolt's personality was needed in track and field. The main point I'm trying to make is that saying tyson can run 9.69/19.30 and beat bolt isn't a valid statement when you consider that bolt is setting new standards and milestones just when tyson has reached the old ones. 9.71 is impressive against 9.69 but when you compare it to 9.58 it just looks good. What it takes for tyson to beat Bolt honestly is AGE tyson is 27 years old by the time they meet for the next world championships he will be 29 its just a matter of time before he loses a step

Also before the final of 100m alot of people said it may take a new word record to beat bolt. No Tyson isnt scared of Bolt. If u look at the time he ran in the 100 (9.71), thats the 3rd fastest time in History. Tyson is BETTER in the 200 then the 100. He even said he prefers the 200 to the 100. He has A better chance of beeting Bolt in the 200. Plus bottom line is i dont think being the 2nd fastest person on Planet Earth is anything to feel bad about.

Then he went on to run (19.30 ) in the Olympics. But Gays best time is a (19.58) RBK Grand Prix, done for preperation for this Berlin Championships. BETTER THEN BOLTS PREVIOUS BEST ( 19.67 )! What makes you so sure Usain Bolt can't run under 19.00 seconds in 200m? He's only 22 years old, and Tyson is 27. That's a five year difference! Tyson is getting older, he's probably close to retirment, while Bolt has many years ahead of him to improve. You obviously don't know a lot about track and field.

Wow, it's like you know nothing about track and field. Don't post if he don't know the facts. First, no athlete peaks at 23. They peak in their late 20's (around 28). 2nd, Usain was not at his best in Berlin because he lost a lot of 200m training time after his foot injury. So yes, he was definitely not running at 100% when he ran 19.19s. He was tired, his form was off, he was swaying all over the place. As he himself said, it was a fast time, but it was not a good race.
