This is a really lovely and quietly passionate interpretation. Thank you. So nice to hear a much different take on this very well known piece of repertoire. BRIAN
A beautiful piece of music which invokes memories of a lost love. But don't let that put you off Maxim. Take it away! You play this so beautifully that it brings tears to my eyes anyway.
i think that everyone has their own interpretation of the music. if you think it is not the way you are supposed to play it, why don't you try. and stop sitting around and criticizing people.
Could you elaborate? I'm a violin student so am curious what you mean by the 'Horrible vibrato' and as a viewer... where is the show in this video? ty.
i think stopped playing as he wanted to do more conducting and I read from somewhere at one stage, he suffered from a shoulder injury, but im not too sure.

Maxim got his own style and he really sounds good. He compares music to the event and that's a good part of him.

What an excellent interpretation. Surely Maxim can feel what Beethoven used to think when he composed this adorable song..

not supposed to over vibrate with beethoven. Just like with mozart your not really supposed to make your trills super fast.
carrottoponcrak 2 years ago
@bonjitomj vibrato is when you slide your finger slightly up and down very quickly, horrible vibrato is when the player does it horribly

well... im sorry, i dont like it.
Horrible vibrato... he was good with the show, not with the music..

it's to do with being beethoven. I had a masterclass on this once, and I had to vibrate like that..it sounds bad, but it's how it should be played...

Well... by the time yes... one year ago he had a worse accident with one arm... and is still in treatment, but hopes to come back playing soon.

The best interpretation of Beethoven's "Romanze op.50 in F-Dur" I ever heard.
In my opinion, Maxim Vengerov has the most excellent instrumental technique (of all violinists) in the world (with Anne-Sophie Mutter).
Of course it depends from the conductor, too:
Slava Rostropovich is simply a musical EXEMPLE.
