It's easy to be a "closet Christian", but extremely difficult to be full-on public and open about your Christianity. Sometimes, it seems easier to be quiet about your Christianity for fear of persecution, but what good is that? Christ's word was meant to be shared and as Christians we MUST tell the world who Christ IS and what He has done for ALL OF US.
Love God loudly. Afterall, we've only got one life to live...
Wow very nice...those sound like some of the thoughts went through last year after seem my dad face cancer and despite all have such a great expectation of heaven and joy at every moment sure that at times God is with us until the end!
This was the theme song to this yr 2011 Scentsy Convention! In a room full of 10,000 other Scentsy brothers & sisters is very moving! The meaning of this song is so true! U can make a difference! We started a challenge to take a small post it note and write a lil movtivational inspirational note and stick it somewhere (restroom, break room, grocery store, gas pump, ANYWHERE) bc that one person who sees it might have needed those uplifting words! Be that ONE person!
Why do so many of you feel the need to talk about God and Christianity in the comments section of every CCM video?! Seriously....why can't you just enjoy the song or discuss the artist...sigh
Just want to say, if it said "She's the one" that would be weird. xD But yeah, I see your point of view of things, and glad we had this discussion. ^.^ (And I forgot that we were talking about this song for a moment, when I said in the comment below " I still don't see how this song could be about women...." Sorry :/)
@chinook1029 before God and he will say " what did you do for my kingdom and glory?" if God has giving you the chance in music why waste it? isn't all this temporal? or what could be more important than people hearing the message of Jesus Christ. Matt Maher is a catholic singer and i enjoy his music very much b.c guess what? it's about Christ , it's about God.
@leticiafrenette i not saying he's not a great guy as even atheist have contributed alot to help the needy. I'm saying that there aren't many devoted Artists to the cause of Christ. Most people just want to be known as if they didn't want to be known they'd sing about Christ or the word. Are we so ashame to now even say Jesus in one song? to me Brandon heath's music is not Christian. He's like jack Johnson , Second hand serenade, John mayer etc. ( not saying they're evil)but its not christian
@chinook1029 what you mean? these new artist just wanna be popular ... they don't see that has called us to do everything for his glory not ours or for the glory of the world. I'm sorry but that's what God says on his word. Paul had more to lose than Brandon Heath or any other so called Christian artist and he was willing not only to lose popularity ( as he was a great jew with great credentials) but he was also willong to lay down his life. this new artist just want people to like them .
@blopajmbar62 I see what you are saying, but in my poinion, Christian Artists speak the word of God, not just for popularity, some of them started out as pastors and they are trying to spread the word of God. But I am sad to say not all are like that. I guess if they really wanted popularity, they would be doing main-stream songs, not singled out in thoughts about God. This song in particular doesn't really point to God, but Brandon Heath usually implies Him.
@chinook1029 If they wanna bring people to Christ wouldn't it make sense to at least name Jesus? Most of the songs i don';t hear jesus or even God. I mean what if Paule or the apostles preached and said we "come in the name".... people would have wondered ... "well what name?" but they never took the message that way. They said"in the name of Jesus" "Jesus" the name above every other name. People will never come to Christ unless we mention Christ.
@blopajmbar62 Maybe. Here's a scenario: A man is scanning through the radio, he has never been shown to God before, do you think he will turn to a song that says Jesus a lot? Someone who he doesn't understand, or turn to a song that POINTS to God and Jesus, with a good beat to it, and good, clean, lyrics?
@chinook1029 well as i said these new artist who sing about "God" don';t you realize their songs could be about a woman as well? i found many atheist say i dont believe in God but this song reminds me of my girl ... shes my everything. So no i don't think the man will be taken towards God ... he will be taken home .. to his wife( or woman ) to their bed , to sex . that's it. Paul says i have refused no know anything other than Christ and him crucified"
@blopajmbar62 Just to say, I really don't think Brandon Heath is a new artist, he at least has a few years with him, and secondly, it depends on what type of song it is. Yes, Christian had rap in it, but not ALWAYS about women. For example, tobyMac is a clean Christian rapper. You just have to listen to the song very closely, and also hear it in the way everyone might hear or think of it. But, do you HONESTLY think this song is about women? I don't see that.
@chinook1029 i didn't say his songs are about women what i said it's they could be about God and as well about a women . "You just have to listen to the song very closely, and also hear it in the way everyone might hear or think of it." that my point. is Jesus isn't even mentioned .. if we have to listen closely how are people who don't know God listen closely and conclude that a song is about God. artist don't even have to mention God but the lyrics must point towards him .. for example I've
@chinook1029 heard songs that say things like "cross, sin, king, savior, nails, throne , creator ..etc etc" even when they don't mention God or Jesus they will point you to him with certain words that can not be about women or bhudda, or allah but only about Jesus and his sacrifice and his love. Many "Christian artists sing and the picture i get is this song ( if a non believer hears it ) will deff capture their minds to think of a girl and deff not God
@blopajmbar62 Yeah, I see what you're getting at. But even though they say Nails, or Throne, may not fully refer to Jesus. (Hopefully, that is what you would think of when you hear it) but a different religion, anyway, may beleive somewhat remotely, that the song points to their god, or leader. Anyway, I still don't see how this song could be at women. Sure, it says the one, but does it say, "You're the one" a lot? The singer is talking about the listener, not the listeners wife.
@chinook1029 im not talking about this song . I'm talking about his new album...actually in this album in the entire album he dint mention Jesus once. In the new album i heard a couple songs that to me were either about a women or God. i havent heard a song of him talking about Jesus at all. I dont know how can be presented on JCTV when his music doesn't reflect that of "taking the gospel to all the world. " what a great waste of advantage. popularity and fame will fade ..one day well stand
@blopajmbar62 Hmm. Very true. At least he does not speak false teachings, if none at all. They have good meanings behind them, and I think that stands close to what Christians should be doing.
@chinook1029 well even atheists believe in behaving good and caring for others ...that doesn't mean that just b.c they think that way they are right with God. Only Jesus makes us right with God...the message can be pretty and beautiful but if it is not the message of Christ is worthless as the bible says with out Jesus ..our" good" works and "good" behavior is nothing....
@blopajmbar62 It's just the human nature to act through kindness. I just think that by being a good person, they are bound to come into contact with a Christian.
@tylerxbox1997 only one song? what about the rest? tell me how many times Brandon in his new album says the word Jesus? i'd really like to know. In his album give me your eyes ( i think thats the name ) i heard the entire album not even once did he say Jesus :/ . Instead of entertaining the world ... shouldn't this artists give us strengh talking about the Lord helping us get through with real christian music? but i guess not
@blopajmbar62 to be honest "leaving eden","the one", and" now more than ever" are the only songs i've heard from his new album so i can't really say anything. :/
And it makes u want to act to... Now is the time for US to act. Soldiers of Christ.... Drop ur weapons! "one who lives by the sword shall die by the sword" we must act with faith and knowledge.
Brandon Heath wrote "The One" when he read the news that Dorothy Height, known as the Godmother of Civil rights, died at age 98. This song is about how one person can make a difference, and it is up to us to act.
Just takes one to start it all again and soon it will all make sense to the believers.
