The USA is not a parliamentary government. In a parliamentary system the executive is selected by the parliament. While in the USA Congress does not select the executive (President). This is done via a vote of the people through an electoral college.

The USA is a representative democracy where we elected people to make those decisions for us. As for sending the army back to the USA, that would mainly fall under the President's responsibility as he is the commander-in-chief of all the armed forces in the United States. Unless the Congress (our legislative branch) votes to stop spending money on the war, in that case all the troops would have to come home.

Communism is a western idea. We Chinese have suffered greatly by that mistake and we have got rid of it.
China has a nationalist authoritarian government that most of its citizens support. It has an economic policy that is extremely capitalistic and a social policy that is authoritiarian with little tolerance to dissident. It has worked well for us.

Hi there. Interesting video, but it's not true that protesters have followed the torch everywhere it went in the world. It had a much more peaceful reception in South America (I believe Argentina), Africa, and Malaysia. I'm curious if the American media reported about these torch relay stops.

I do not recall seeing on television the peaceful torch relay stops, but I did read about some of them in the newspaper. What, you expect the truth from the American news media? Besides the reporters in America have a slogan, "if it bleeds, it leads." Meaning no protest, no reporting. But I can assure you if there is another torch protest it would be all over the American news. Much of it has to do with the support of Tibetan culture in the USA.

I agree, perhaps they should first try to get the communist to allow the Tibetans keep their culture and their religion. But you know what, Communist would never allow that, so I guess that is why they want to be free, to be free of communist like people all over the world want, freedom from communist. Also freedom from having the communist kidnapping an 8 year old child and making it legal.

actually, the rebellion or rioting was most due to lack of social welfare on the tibets, where they're not getting enough of the profit from the chinese morderisation. it less of issue of religion since they are allowed to pratice but its just they dont have a spirtual leader with them. so we come back to dai lama

well in all, honest NO, cause his a spiritual leader, not represent tibet but he will bring stablity to tibet to a degree, unforunetly where in a countries where the entire population is religion. the dai lama is the only one they could look to, regardless of this past. simply tibetan people wont look at that, only beacuse his symbolic to there religion. it the only way to bring stablity.
