This is one of my favourite maynard songs. it has so much about it. stan mark (his lead trumpet) has a monstrous range and never misses a note. It is such a shame maynard passed away. He will be missed a hell of a lot
I don't know what kind of Flugelhorn Maynard Played here. Perhaps a Getzen Eterna "4 valves model". Recently,I had seen Sergei Nakariakov with a valves "Bb/A" Courtois flugelhorn but the instrument was different (with a very large bell)
Maynard sifting through the cosmic debris..and then bam!! He pulls out the intergalactic Flugelhorn..and lays the funk down!

In Japan, this song is famous as the theme of TV program "All-Japan High School Quiz Championship" for a long time.

@xenorules Maynard said about Stan Mark that he was the most precise of all his lead trumpet. So I agree with you :)

I've always enjoyed this performance! Maynard sounds so on here as does the entire band. The flugel solo is great fun to watch and hear!
