I don't understand how the narrator could harp on the controls - the whole point of this game existing was to promote usage of the analog sticks. While some actions were tough to pull off, they were intentional - this isn't supposed to be a cakewalk.

i think the controls were flawless. The analogs work perfectly, and it was so helpful being able switch through the gadget at anytime (during a jump for example). This is my favourite 3d-platformer ever!, yes, even better than Mario Galaxy. The soundtrack was also a huge inspiration for my musical taste, and made me discover music like jungle and techno.

Well "on the loose" is a REMAKE of part one!

the one your talking about is "Ape Escape Academy" and "Ape Academy 2" (which the game that contains minigames)

well there is a PS3 version released its called "Ape Escape on the Move" which you need a PS3 move controller and there is a "Ape Escape 4" but not yet announced.

I don't know the series kinda lost its replayability after the second one. And what does he mean? First of all part of the challange is learning to use the gadgets with the right stick. Second of all why would I want to fly around by spamming the X button? Third if it only used buttons then many things would suck A. RC Car, You could call it out and take control of it, but then how are you gonna dodge? B. HighFlyer, I'm not going to get CarpalTunel just cause I wanna climb a cliff!

The camera is the only valid point that this guy had. The point was that you had MORE control with the right thumbstick instead of just spamming the x, triangle, circle, square buttons. With weapons like the flyer and the hula hoop, its just not the same feel, and you'd only be able to use weapons in front of you. If a monkey ran to your side or something, you could just move the stick to the side.

My favorite game for the PS, it was so much fun and had a great soundtrack. :)

This was the first game I EVER got. We used to get PSX demos to play that came in the mail, and this game happened to be one of them along with FF8 and a few other games.

I remember watching my dad play when I was 5 or so and he totally sucked at it.. XD Even I was better than him at it lol.

At an electronic store,(Frys was the name of the store I think) I recall begging my parents to get it for me when I saw it on display. Ape Escape will always have a special place in my heart!

I do, I watch videos of all games and this guy happened to review a Spyro vid, of course, he mentioned the DATE OF RELEASE as some big important thing, despite the fact the game's aged much better than other games. *coughmario64cough* and gave the game a bad mark because of it, which is bullshit if you ask me.
