  • What time of year did you record these? And if I wanted to go to hawaii to see any of these beaches what time of year would you recommend? Are there any other specific recommendations you'd have?

  • @Munchprime - I shot this right at the end of summer, just when everyone goes back to work and school. Winter you get more rain and bigger waves, though. I try to shoot in the low rain fall months just from a production stand point.

  • How long is the DVD with the sound of the waves?

  • Any Southeast Asians beaches?

  • I can't tell, but did you film Kaneohe bay? I just can't find the sandbar, so I can't recognize it! :-D

  • Chinaman's hat at 1:29! :-D

  • I would love to go to the Carribean!!

  • Which beaches was that..

I'm going this summer to Oahu & Big Island..

  • BEAUTIFUL AND RELAXING I LOVE IT !!!!

  • So bummed how much the flights were to Hawaii as I've always wanted to go there.... Totally stunning!!

  • was that seal dead

  • @TasteTheRainbow29 - Why would I shoot a dead seal? (unless it were already dead?!) - LOL - I only 'film' sleeping seals. ;-)

  • @wavesdvdcom Maybe it's dead because you shot it

  • @beccaboo617101 - Maybe, it's just dead tired and sleeping. ;-)

  • WILL SOMEONE PLEASE REVIVE THAT POOR SEAL

  • @TasteTheRainbow29 I was thinking the same thing lol

  • @TasteTheRainbow29 If you look close at 1:40 you can see it breathe. Also, dead things usually get lots of insects on them pretty quickly. If it's not covered in flies, it's probably alive.

  • great video, very relaxing!

  • AMAZING! I LOVE IT. WANT MORE PLEASE.

  • This short poem I just wrote was inspired by your video!

    Simple things

    Are gifts from God,

    If we let them........

    Be everything.

  • I have found, as I get older, & hopefully wiser, that I don't need skydiving, bungee jumping, mountain climbing, speed racing, or any other kind of extreme sports to give me thrills! Just give me the breaking of dawn, a bird soaring in the wind, a gentle rain, a child singing, a gorgeous sunset, a dove cooing, a full moon, a silent night, and yes, a breaking wave---these are the things that thrill me now! Thank you so much for posting these wonderful videos! I really appreciate it!

  • O M G ... so gorgeous i want to be there

  • Quel dépaysement, c'est magnifique et apaisant quand on pense aux soucis quotidiens. Merci beaucoup, cela fait du bien

  • So beauty & peaceful, Very very Relaxing.♥♥

  • i feel relaxed! :)

  • Meditate you'll feel even better thats what I always do come here listen and Meditate ;D

  • Wow, your videos are the best!! Love them! Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

  • just amazing video

  • fantastic

  • I just moved to the mainland, I didn't feel home sick until I watched this, especially in the begining, I am from the east side of O'ahu. What the heck am I doing in Colorado, it is freezing here. My heart is still at home. Kevin

  • Very relaxing !

    Thanks.

  • cool in HD

  • Way better on Blu-Ray - less compression - big screen.

  • from normal to HD is a huge difference but also from average speaker so expensive audio system the difference is also huge.

It's all very beautiful but the beach at 3:50 it sounds like it was a windy day.

thx for this i still loved it

  • yes, a very windy day, that makes sound recording more difficult. As, we try to make it a relaxing video and not a wind storm.

  • if only i could watch this without it buffering every half a second =[

  • Try pressing pause... let the video download - the red line will fill the window... then press play. If it still is skipping, your computer is not quite fast enough for smooth playback.

  • Very relaxing....falling asleep as I type zzzzzzzzz

  • Super!

  • I bet it is to hot for me.

  • If the 78-85 avg degrees is hot? Its perfect. Hawaii is far from the tropics and is not super humid or hot like the Southern Caribbean for example. Aloha.

  • I have lived in Buffalo my whole life, here people put their ac's way up when it gets over 70F haha. I like -10 more then 85.

  • That must have been big (makena) beach on maui! I wanna go so bad now! Good stuff!

  • Hi Mike, the quality of the HD for the internet is a lot lower and highly compressed vs broadcast vs Blu-Ray. I'd just recommending getting our dvd or Blu-ray precisely because they are made for TV. I put this stuff up for internet only with lower quality. The Blu-ray is 20 Gigs with high data rates looks awesome. The DVD at 5 gigs looks 90% as good at normal viewing distances. Check out our website or amazon for more on "Hawaii beaches"

  • wow press the hd button and look at the palm trees before and after

  • Thats the beauty of hd. Lots more resolution.

  • FYI - I have youtube on my HD TIVO and have watched this clip back and it looks horrible worse than vhs... The DVD and Blu-ray are the way to go for under $20 for 110 mins of Hawaii eye candy.

  • wow i should go there after i graduate

  • Omg that beach is so beautiful O.O

  • What is your favorite beach that you would like us to shoot next?

  • If your asking me, Makapu'u and Lanikai beach would be nice to see. Also Sandy Beach during the summer months when the waves are kicking up can be special.

  • Those are all on my DVD too. Though Lanikai has been severely eroded and is not its old wide beautiful beach that it once was. Sad.

  • During the video 4:31 to 4:50 what is the name of the beach? Thanks

  • That is Yokohana Beach at the end of the road on the west side of the island.

  • Thanks! I have been to Hawaii four times and never went. Looks beautiful. I noticed the water has a green hue to it, are you using an filter of some kind? I remember Hawaii's water being very blue.

  • Maybe, ;-). I was learning color correction on this dvd, I will try to be a bit more natural on the sequel. The beaches is also less orange. Try google maps Satelite and turn on the extras - pics and videos... and you can see all the beaches in Hawaii are well geo-tagged. You will see many of my pics and videos linked there.

  • I wanna go to hawaii my dream :(

  • if its your dream you should try to realise it ;)

  • :) maybe if i get married i need find a right guy and go for it :)

  • That is soothing :).................sorry but i wanted to say that i just made a slide show video of like 50 photos i got at Baby Beach on Maui (i live there) so if you like this check my video out please and dont mark this as spam, thanks Mahalo.

  • Wow..

    I love the turquoise waters...(:

  • needs some sharks, ha haa, just kidding ; }

Do you use a polarizer on the lense?, it makes it look like your' wearing your best sunglasses, the clouds just 'pop', it's amazing...

  • Actually, there was a shark attack where I shot on Barking Sands Beach on Kauai. And yes, I do use a polarizer and color correction. Hawaii Beaches 2 will be a bit more natural, as I was learning on this title.

  • ahh I'll be listening to this for a while! :D

  • shoreeeys

  • kauai mo betta!!!

  • SHIT

now theres going to be loads of tourist

  • The video and sound quality is stunning. Such a beautiful window to relaxation in the middle of a busy day.

  • My grandma totally has this dvd.

  • I am glad to see the input from around the world on the beauty of the Seychelles, Thailand, Indonesia, Hawaii, etc. I have traveled to Oahu., Maui, Kauai and many caribbean islands. I pretty much love 'em all but the main question is not which is the best etc. The main question is how are we going to keep them that way in light of the massive burden of human polution. Check out the info on the pacific gyre/plastic trash in the N.Pacific. I heard it is twice the size of my home state, Texas!

  • I would not mind being there right now.

  • O hell what about the maldives islands!!

  • Indonesia have nice beaches too depen where u go. Some just full of tourist some nice clean and quiet just like Hawai

  • Thailand has better beaches than Hawaii, as well as many other countries. I think Hawaii is very overrated, but americans go there because they are afraid to travel anywhere that isnt american or close to it.

  • or because they don't feel like spending the extra effort to travel to a different country/spend the money to buy a passport at that time.

  • Thailand has good beaches but everything is so commercialised and crowded. I still prefer going to hidden private beaches in the Philippines and islands in the pacific coast.

  • good point

  • i agree with yuka, Hawaii is paradise, why try to enhance paradise, if you shoot on the right day in the right light, you may achieve your goal, dont cheat yourself. on Oahu, the tourists do tend to fill most of the beaches, but there is alot of times certain beaches are secluded, i spent half a day at lanikaii, and there was only 1 other person there, went down to sunset on the N.S. , and the beach only had a few people on it , i was amazed how big that stretch of sand was, only 11 people there

  • I looked into shooting on lanikaii. However, its a private island and very expensive to stay and get too. As for enhancing reality - my job as a filmmaker / artist is to create the best shot I can. If you? want reality, google images will show you plenty of washed out pics. I am not there to document the beaches or the homeless that are taking over the public beach parks. Even the hidden beaches have now been populated thanks to google satellite maps and rented 4x4s. Paradise not so lost. ;-)

  • beautiful beaches!

  • Nice bitches indeed.

  • You are spoiled and jaded

  • At least I'm not a FAG!

  • Thanks, beautiful.

  • ive lived there my entier life that looks so fake to me the water is not that blue the sand is not that gold and its always filled up with tourists

  • You are right. I am still learning color correction, the early shots of the sand are a bit to orange or saturated, the later are closer. As for the water... shhh... Im making it a bit better than it looks. Hollywood and artists are not about reality.... than as much beauty.... I am still trying to find the balance. My next dvd, I will make sure the beaches are better.

  • You are spoiled and jaded. If you do not see the beauty right before your very eyes then you do NOT deserve to live there!

  • eh bra i was born here i am 50 percent hawaiian who are you to tell me not to live in my own birthplace were my ancesters lived if anything you shouldent be able to live here k

  • look how blue that water is. Beaches here in MA have nothing on Hawaii, I want to go there SOOOO bad

  • i live in MA too and yea you're right the beaches here are pretty bad, i've been to the Bahamas and Mexico before and let me tell you there beaches are amazing.

  • I went there for my 8th grade class trip

  • ok now why the hell would you put a dead seal in here what the fuck 1:53

  • maybe it was sleeping

    LOL

    o.o

  • HE is sleeping... watch, he moves when the waves hit him. Come on, its a metaphore for you guys to relax... not die... LOL... Rest in Peace now... like my holy monk seal.

  • WELL i was dozing off to fast to pay attention to the video!

    haha

"its a metaphore for you guys to relax, not die"

    LMAO.

    XD

  • THAT nigga is out stone cold out

  • lmfao.

    poor seal thing :[

  • its sleeping u can see it move when the water touches it

  • lol...i lived there for three years and after my second year i hated Hawaii, but I wouldnt mind coming back to visit.

  • Wow... This is absolutely beautiful!

  • the sand looks like i dont even know but its awsome

  • aaaand Screamer!

  • holy cow i can sleep for an eternity to this..

  • Picture this in an IMAX!

  • Cool to bad I can go to these beaches when ever I want

    5/5 :D

but at 3:14 that is rabit island right sorry I forgot

  • Are the DVDs actually in HD? What kind of discs? Blu-ray? AVCHD?

  • Hit the replay, It's worth the extra six and a half minutes to relax sumo.

  • Why do you not just watch the other 3 segments of the other 3 islands? Hawaii is my favorite.

  • what camera did you use?

  • I noticed you timed the shot change with the sound of the waves. Nice detail!!

  • Shh... more secrets you're giving away. Editing is suppose to be hidden. ;-)

  • A+ .

  • oh my

  • cool!

  • wow at 1:32 the volcanic island loks so much like Mako island

  • *sigh*

its been 5 years since ive been to the beach lol

  • what time did you go to film these places? ive never seen Sandy's completely empty like that

  • It was like early Tuesday morning last September. I did work hard to shoot around people though and had many walk through my shots. Also, if you watch carefully, there are some crazy body surfers on those 10-12 foot faced waves.
