Yes civillians still die but billions are spent to prevent that to the highest degree possible. I can't believe such a horrible thing happened. All the students and teachers who died may you all rest in peace. On 4/16/08 in 1 of my classes this is all we talked about in memory of the lives we lost.
Yes, I went there on 4/16/08. It was hard to be there considering two months before on 2/14/08 my school witnessed it's own shooting in which 5 people died. However, the Virginia Tech students embraced us with open arms on Valentine's Day and they continued to do the same when we came down to support them on their one year. We are Hokies and we are Huskies!!!

@xRipzo The US has and is putting in far more effort to prevent the deaths of inocent civilians than any country has in any previous war. Yes civillians still die but billions are spent to prevent that to the highest degree possible. It is far less expensive to lob a massive bomb into a general area than it is to send in a guided missile with a much smaller explosion. Now, wheather we should be there at all is a totally diff issue but we are making a huge effort to limit civillian deaths.

@xRipzo No doubt people are more poilte in Canada and the overall atmosphere is more relaxed but we do have areas where people are polite and the atmosphere is relaxed just not any city I can think of. lol Actually my only gripe about Canada if I lived there would be the taxes and index crime rates against women. In the US you only pay fed tax on what you make over $50,000 yr and state tax varies but is very reasonable. I have imported products made in Canada and regs&hidden tax are a nightmare

Well, I don't think people take the time to think about WHY School Shootings happen. Obviously, bullying and racism play a huge roll in the reason they happen. I'm not saying what the shooters do is right, but it's an only resort to deal with what they go through.

Well, I can kind of understand both sides, those who protect the shooter, and those who appose him. I'm not saying what he did was right. People feel the need to make fun of others to amuse themselves, or to feel superior, and some people who have been dealing with that kind of torment for a long time just get tired of it. What he did was wrong, but I don't think you should blame only him. If people were nicer to each other, then maybe something like this wouldn't happen...

I went there a week after it happened.
Still the memorials were on the ground, the flowers,the pictures, the buildings were bordered up, every one walking around including college students all looked very sad and depressed. I can't believe such a horrible thing happened. All the students and teachers who died may you all rest in peace. On 4/16/08 in 1 of my classes this is all we talked about in memory of the lives we lost.

Yes, I went there on 4/16/08. It was hard to be there considering two months before on 2/14/08 my school witnessed it's own shooting in which 5 people died. However, the Virginia Tech students embraced us with open arms on Valentine's Day and they continued to do the same when we came down to support them on their one year. We are Hokies and we are Huskies!!!
