It is not only cool to fly so close to the water but it confuses any heat seeking missles shot at you because of the thermal stratification of the water immediately below you. If the missle is radar based then that is what chaff is for. Your ECM pod will tell you what is which. Good hunting!

I have seen the longer un-censored version, they use civilians walking along the beach as targets to lock weapons onto.......although no weapons were fired, I guess the idea of using your own civilians as targets to lock onto doesn't go down too well with some :-)
Considering those planes are like 20 feet tall themselves, the planes are more like 50 feet off the ground. Not 10 feet, which waves themselves can easily reach...
And these guys get PAID to do that ... I'd do it happily for free. :D
