Here in NY, we got TV-38 on our cable system until mid-1994...though that was prolly for the better, given they became a UPN affil not long after, which is when they started going downhill.
I was looking for the other ID where you hear Dana Hersey say "Regularly scheduled programming will not be seen so that we may bring you, Boston Bruins hockey".
Boy, do I miss independent stations. Here in Southern CT we received channel 38 on our Cablevision system. It was taken off in the mid 80s because we started getting TBS, and Cablevision did not want to carry both stations. I liked channel 38 better, although I heard they later became a UPN affiliate.
It is not that cablevision did'nt want to carry both it's that a new law prevented them from doing so to protect the rights of local stations. Had that law not been passed TV38 might have risen up in popularity and pulled ahead of WTBS Atlanta.
I used to love seeing this TV38 logo and jingle appear right before the first piano key of the "One Day at a Time" opening or the jazz tones of Linda Lavin singing the theme to "Alice". Both aired in reruns for most of the 1980s on WSBK weeknights at 7 and 7:30

LOL... which is funny because they barely had any "regularly scheduled programming" outside of Sox and Bruins games!

I some good 80's WSBK material that I'd like to post, including an ad for Borateem bleach, and another ID, unfortunately I can't.
