It is absolutely possible to speak German fluently whilst one is residing in, for example the US. It really has a lot to do with the medium used at home. Germany, the Netherlands and other European countries have a large number of second and thrid generation Turkish people who speak fluent Turkish while fluency in German or Dutch is almost absent. And not every language is easy to learn and German is a particularly complex language. Give Cinta some credit,she is after all an entertainer :)
