Yah, I've seen her play since I was there! I live in Cabool where this was and quite amazing. Not many strings players around anymore, but you can sure find them around here. There are select few mandolin and fiddle players I'd listen to around here and Ashley is one.
Yep she's quick. She learned from Bob Holt, a square dance fiddler who said "the dancers here like it a little faster than most". I think the dancers wear taps on their shoes and demand a faster tempo - 135+ bpm as opposed to the average 125 beats per minute. Bob's no longer with us, but he left a few recordings that are worth tracking down.
