PS- i posted a link to FGM but youtube wouldn't accept it grrrr, so you'd better google The Few Good Men to get to their forum, then click 'Post-WW2' and 'Vietnam War'
it looks like an anorexic TH-55 Osage...dude you have to low crawl out of the thing if you are more than 3 foot tall...i am still upset they did not turn dudes book into a quality movie.
My father was a helicopter pilot, and a civilian flight instructor at Ft. Sill 1962-63. I just read CHICKENHAWK and wonder if my daddy ever read it. Can't ask him now, he died too young in 1992. Superb read, but if I can, I'll use it to DISSUADE my youngest, a 23-yr-old army sergeant, 2 tours in Iraq, from becoming a helicopter pilot.
Bob , its GREAT to see you fly again sir. Greetings from New Zealand. If I may say so , it looks like you have not lost your touch ! ! ! I will email you through Constances website. Thanks again Bob.
A four rotor configure would make it a lot more stable, but with more back weight you may need a little more fuel. That heli right there will give the person about two or four hours worth of flight time, depending if you use it right. What sort of fuel is it using?
Probably never - wouldn't they have done it by now. And Mason is probably one of the few pilots that could make flying this thing look easy - still looks like a death-trap to me.
Yeah its an awesome Book, Alot of Humor though dark at times. You would have to be a Great Pilot to live through what him and others lived through. I'm 23 years old and I can Honestly say after reading his book, He's one of my Heros.
Hey Bob! Great to see you back in the air and still can do "the most basic of human functions; hovering a helicopter". Thanks for what you did in 'Nam!!! We appreciate your sacrifice.
And it was 2011, not 2010, duh..

The RR500 would be a better turbine, also equipped with a four rotor config.

Respectfully I say. Belt driven/transmission, what a shame.
However,
I do realize I could be wrong, perhaps belts are the future but perhaps not?????
