Well actually He doesn't die,as you have just seen you gave that last right upper cut all he had and it causes a bit of a shock wave once he punches it,the finger starts to break down and it starts to spread up the Big bosses body (his finger starts crumbling and it continues like dominoes) and then he explodes in space and bits of shards of his body hit earth's atmosphere,and it only shows a few of his remains.. so from what i recall they both die unfortunately..

Sometimes, the more unrealistic it is, the more enjoyable the world is. Maybe that's just me, but I enjoy more fantastic worlds than grittier and less eventful worlds (Uncharted is an example, as opposed to Prototype which is gritty, but has loads of unrealistic beasts and powers).
