Definately looks like an Imbellis to me, and he won't "Flare" or attack, Imbellis meaning Peacefull fish, they do have mock fights with other male imbellis from time to time but no harm is done to either fish.
your betta is sick, thats why theres no color and he dont flare, what you do is put him in warm water not hot, put stress coat i the water, then feed him everyday, put him in bigger jar, in a few weeks he will be ok
wat u hav my friend is a verry scared plakat.. it was probably put in a fight before being sold(probably lost the fight) or its verry stressed out frum the shipping... its not an imbellies.. i think u should put it somewere dark. like a closet or sumthing for 3 days or so n dont let it see any other betta. .then wen u take it out let it chase females.. this should help the fish settle down.. if u try this u should be able to figure out wich betta species it really is...
you funny i thought u were professional and all.. that betta on the right is a plakat... what i am trying to say is they change colour and looks.. his looks right now show that he is scared .. put him in a dark place and holy he will attack
no hes pretty healthy its just for some reason when i have him shown with another male he loses is colors and doesnt flare back. i'll post another video soon with him actually flaring
The color change and the Horizontal lines means he's scared. So I think you shouldn't make him see any other males.... Try females that are smaller then him, like one that isn't breeding.

oh okay i was confused because the way it acted and its color of its scales.
in this video it doesnt really show much of his colors because he was recovering from an illness.
