  • I remember 1999, couple was shot to death point blank in front of me in Kosovo

    no bravery...

  • wow

  • I'm using him as an example in my media A level exam of an artist that does more than just perform and make singles for the money and fame only. So I was wondering if anyone could tell me where this was performed so I can use it as a reference. Thanks. :)

  • Genial

  • I'm sorry for my ignorance, but, could someone say who is "he", that "has been here"?

  • @asweetBelieber I think he is trying to personify war/conflict but I don't know tbh :/

  • @asweetBelieber 'He' is all the evils that come with war and war itself. 'He' is the death, the despair, the famine, the destruction. The devil for the religious. He is war and everything related.

  • @asweetBelieber It seems to be to be Death.

  • You could tell at the end of the song that he was having some deep thoughts about it. You could tell just by the way he moved the mic away from his face and his body language. It's no secret that wars are terrible, but he's been through it just like every other soldier at the time has. They can look at this song, at him, and realize that there is someone who can sympathize with them.

  • James Blunt is crying on the inside, and people cheer.

That's a sad state of affairs.

What is wrong with this world?

  • Be brave don't let the sadness overcome you. Time to rise up and challange the oppressors.

  • Emocionante!!!

  • James Blunt sings this song with such emotion because he has seen what has happened In Kosovo during the 1999 war...things that no person should ever have to see...STOP THE WARS

  • Awsome song, it makes me cry :(

  • amerika and Albanian is king of world

  • I listened to this when I heard my mate died seving Britain in afghan R.I.P mate...

  • Thank you Amerika , Thank you Europ and all Friends of Albanian

  • JAMES BLUNT, ONLY!

  • thank you so much for sharing~ every song of his touched my heart

  • HONEY, THIS IS MY TRUE COLOR, MY AND UR TRUE STILE..

  • "since ...he's been here"

  • @polumasno

    I know that i made a mistake :)

  • arrepia

  • thats because its what they want you to belive billy

  • I think he's angry that he didn't get more applause for the only good song he's ever written.

  • this song reminds me of times i was in Bosnia in 93 and Rwanda 94, ... brings me too tears each time !!!

  • a lot of times applause and cheering is to show support and agreement, even if it seems an unfitting response. perhaps it's the only thing the audience knew to do.

  • @MrStarchild90

    My mistake :)

  • James blunt was in the gulf war so he knows what he is on about

  • @GreenGhost494

That was NOT the gulf war!!! That's about the war in Kosovo!!

  • @GreenGhost494 he was in Kosovo, and he wrote this particular song at that time.

  • ^at 0:51

  • @Sargenturnip96 Haha I know, he gave them the nastiest glare. I felt like he was glaring at ME!

  • Did anyone else see the look he gave when someone in the crowd whistled? It's obvious James Blunt feels very strongly about what he is singing. He's trying to get a message into the crowd, he even used a presentation.

  • Great song for the victims of war, thank you SIR James Blunt, europe´s sweetheart!

  • As a Gulf and Balcans vet this is MY SONG. The desert's another world but what I saw in Croatia and Bosnia was something I wouldn't wish on my enemy. Iraq was different as in sand and a different world. Bosnia? Walk out of your house and look next door. Like that house? Picture it with the neihghbours you know lying dead!! Men, women, kids. Babies! No escape! Raped! Destroyed!!! That war hurt of us that were unfortunate to have been there. James Blunt was there!!

  • i have been here

  • What an amazing performance by James Blount! Wow, sooooo much Bravery in his words and his empathy....

  • @DL355

    wtf? james who?

  • Awesome :)

  • KOSOVO JE SRBIJA!!!

  • Comment removed

  • theres so much emotion put into this song. you can feel the frustration in the way he strikes the keys. beautiful

  • i think the 'he' is Henry Kissinger

  • @moomin468 I always thought "he" was just a personification of war.

  • what more does a performer need to do in order to invoke the tone of this song into his audience? He gave a video presentation, and emphasized pain in his voice at times. I think the proper response at the end is silence, not applause >.>

  • @atwspoon There's so many difference way of looking at thing. I believe you think the audience is idiot by applause at the end of the song, but I look at it as the audience is smart enough then you gave them credit for. I believed the audience get it what this song is all about. I believed the applause him for his "BRAVERY" by voicing his opinion because he is just so well know and he care enough to stand up for what he believed is right thing to do.

  • @atwspoon its his own footage too... from his own camera during his time in Kosovo... no song could not be any more personal to someone than this song is to him.

unless you have served overseas, you couldn't understand it the way he does.

  • It brings memories it has been now 11 years from the war and wounds still are not healed, it was a terrible time we were taken out of out homes and killed our brothers and sisters. Serbia burned everything to the ground but finally we have the independence and we are FREE finally. Kosovars suffered too much we deserve some PEACE.

  • Somewhere I commented on insightful his

Music is....can't find it BUT if y'all run across it I could go on forever how profound beautiful haunting One of best artists etc BUT I accidentally wrote I thought Serievo ? now I know it was Kosovo ....sorry but it sort of brings a running theme n his music about war...the enemy. He looked like me etc.... Just sadness

  • omg amazing!

  • Isn´t this an amzaing song, really, i love it so much!

It is so wonderfull, about peace and justice, it is so peaceful,

and ooooo, it just takes peoples breath away, those who are bravehearsts!

Love to mr. Blunt in the name of God

  • Such an amazing song, I am stunned! God bless all good people out there in the name of Christ, Amen. Thank You mister Blunt, thank you.

  • where was this concert?

  • we can feel his emotion in his voice...

  • watched it 10 times crying my eyes out , love it !

  • kosovo loves you james blunt

  • this song sould have been played more, makes you think what has he seen with his own eyes when he was in the brittish army in bosnia

  • @jdg1314

    when he was in kosovo

  • An amazing and talented musician and singer. Hope he makes more albums.

  • I GUESS MY WACK IDEA ABOUT HE HAS BEEN HERE BEING A SLIGHTLY SARCASTIC ANALOGY TO GOD ALMIGHTY HIMSELF. WATCH HIM - HE LOOKS UP SEVERAL TIMES LIKE ASKING GOD WHY AND HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN. imho

  • Genius!! No mere.

  • JB (Justin Bieber) ... Not even in my worst nightmares!!!

JB (James Blunt) ... Absolutely yes !!!

Whats the diference between this 2 guys?

The first one is a bad singer, just hunting for the money and fame.

The second one is best emotional singer ever, who is not hunting the money or fame & is the best songwriter ever. He can make everybody so more sensitive and emotinal than they are. He is singing the songs with heart, his songs can touch the heart of any human being. He is JAMES BLUNT !!

  • Worlds best singer!!

  • Loving it =)

  • This song always gives me shives :S

    I love it

  • Mr. Blount must have seen some nasty stuff in Bosnia/Herzegovina.

One of very few artists today who have real experiences like his to propel his emotions.

Greatest Artist- This is the sound of music.

  • @billybxox

    yes yes hahah in kosovo

what is up with you people

he wrote this song in kosovo

where he fought in the war

  • Kosovo loves u James Blunt

  • He's such an emotional singer. I hate to see song with such deep meaning just becoming songs to the artist. But you can hear and see the emotion so clearly when James Blunt sings.

    This song is so sad.

  • I LOVE JAME BLUNT

  • THANK YOU JAMES BLUNT!!!

  • Somehow, when the crowd cheers at the end, and he pushes the mic away, James Blunt looks frustrated and depressed, almost as if he's thinking "You didn't get it." I don't understand how the crowd can cheer this song like it's entertainment. Every time I hear this song it tears my heart out.

  • @kirinrex I completely agree with you. However, as a performer I know it's the audience's responsibility to clap at the end of a performance. Applause can mean so many things. To most, it was probably "What a fantastic song/singer." To others it could have been "Wow, that moved me." Some people may have been saying "I get it." And to some it may have been because they're just fans. Some people may have just wanted to be polite. But applause always means one thing, and that's "Thank you."

  • @kirinrex Exactly how I felt.

  • i want to marry him im crying cause i love him so much.. is that normal?

  • quelle émotion dans sa voix ... et dans mon coeur !

  • JB should stand for James Blunt, not for justin bb.

  • Great Song dedicated to the war in Kosovo

  • @shkumbini00 and also dedicated to the bosnian war

  • My grandfather served in Korea, and my friend and two cousins served in Iraq and Afghanistan. I let them hear this song the other day. Ive never seen my grandfather shed a tear in my life. Hard men are like that...But on that day, i saw tears...My cousins and my friend were silent the entire time. You looked in there eyes though and you saw what was going through there minds. James spoke to them that day, and what he said they knew all too well.

  • Woah, goosebumps guaranteed!

  • Kosovo has strong suport for james blunt

  • wow! he can play piano, guitar, and he is the best singer ever!!!

  • @thefriggit and he could play me jajaja joke... he´s great!

  • I served on James tour, plus NI, Gulf etc etc... His captured it, what we all want to shout out.

  • Hit by the floor...

  • I love this song

  • this is a very powerful song, and he is just pushed to the side, dose anyone here his voice, its like an angle.

  • This almost made me cry...

    So beautiful, full emotion <3

  • Everyone who watches and listens to this song emotionless ist brutally cold!

  • to alekbillov: sure serbia took birth in the battle against the empire of ottomans, on a place where kosovo is now. But it was not a war between christians and muslims, it was just a kind of resistance of serbs. You use your history to send a message that is false, we all know that are many different populations in this area. All the people must have the choice of their destinies, it's why our occidental nations have helped the kosovar men. But war is never a solution, you know it, don't you ?

  • @piouxe32 off course bro. War creates problem, it is never a solution. Peace on you!

  • Great Soldier - Great Singer!

  • This is a great song, but it almost pains me to see him perform it. Its almost like torture for him to sing about it...

  • now everybody can see what pieces of shit you are,you did what you did time is coming for SERBIA PAYBACK!!!

  • Honest to god I have never heard or seen anything like this before. James honestly has some of the best live performances ever. You can FEEL what he is singing. By the end he seems like he has reached into a deep dark place and is singing with a raw, real emotion that NO other artist can match. My hats off to you sir. THIS IS MUSIC folks.

  • and i think that reaction of the croud was not right. and not actualy what he waited.

    Song is powerfull.

  • I was Infantry between 1989 - 1997 This song TAKES me Back to Bosnia and the Horrors we saw There LOVE THIS SONG. James SIR I think we were over there at about the same time. Wish I could meet you one day and Talk. All the Best Kev Phelps.

  • look what albanians did to Serbs in Serbia, and u gave them independence...

  • @AlekBillov what the fuck are you talking about.. that were the serbians in kosovo.. if you dont know what you're talking about please shut up... james blunt was one of the biggest general in kosovo and did defend kosovo against the serbians.. and so stfu you ****ing idiot!

  • @kulio12 Kosovo was always part of Serbia, google it around if you don't know.So how can he defnd it from the people who belong there.U are saying that shqips belong there??hahahaha, bunch of bullshit America put in everybody's minds.KOSOVO IS PART OF SERBIA!!!

  • @AlekBillov

Serbs are assholes, which go against a country that had almost no chance. but fortunately it has justice on this earth. Kosovo was never a part of Serbia. you Serbs are simply too stupid to realize at that. You're only as an asshole, which has no idea of war and presents itself as a patriot. Listen to the text and say you're proud of what you have done to the Kosovars. you probably say you're proud of it but put yourself in one of us and say that it was right, what you did.

  • @kulio12 hahahahhahahahahahahahhahaahahaha,i'm not proud but that's war. They done it to us,we didi that to them.Killing is part of every war unfotunately. But to say that Kosovo wasn't part of Serbia,is just bullshit. Our first state was found in Kosovo in 12th century. We fought in Kosovo for christians against muslims in 1389.But that is something you don't know because it hasn't been said by the USA.

  • @AlekBillov

First there was no reason to fight in kosovo. USA helped us, because that was not fair what you motherfuckers did and now shut up and dont post so shit on my canal or i will kick your ass. FUCKING SERBS go die!

  • Fuck war!....

  • Beautiful x

  • Waouh ... C'est fou l'émotion qu'il peut véhiculer .

    Magnifique chanson, magnifique interprétation.

Un artiste comme on n'en a pas beaucoup sur Terre. J'en ai des frissons .

  • Does bieber seriously sell more records than this artist who's material literally tugs heart strings effortlessly?

  • @craiglackenby You can't always tell by the records sold. That being said, to compare Beiber and Blunt is to compare... well, there is just no comparison. Beiber sells to young girls. Blunt writes and sings music.

  • This man defies superlatives - such passion and such powerful presentation of the truth. He is both a great musician and poet of this century!

  • 2 dislike ????

  • 2 serbians sure dislike this !!!

  • LOVE YOU KOSOVO .

  • @usalbanya You too were victims of Genocide, it is very fair and respectful your comment . You said enough with only 3 words. Thank you Albania for System of a Down! Love you

  • i`m stickin with you people from Kosovo, cause i always choose what my soul tells me to, and without any doubt, this should never happened

  • Actually this might be the first song he wrote, while he was in the army playing the guitar :)

  • @darkinis it has been so...'While in Kosovo he wrote the song No Bravery, which would later appear on his debut album.

"I wrote it lying by my tank in my sleeping bag with my boots on," he said. "The song is pretty fatalistic. The rest of the album is fatalistic." '

  • This is one of the greatest, it tells much of how parts of the world is today, how people are living their daily life, while I`m here listening to music, they fight for their family and friends to survive!

  • Comment removed

  • my favo singer.....james u are the best !

  • True talent. Tears just keep flowing every single time. What heartless person couldn't like a song with such soul? This song really makes you think.. It's touching.

  • @remmytemmy A song for the heros

  • hauntingly beautiful

first time I heard this track - I knew he was singing about the Balkans

  • so talented

  • THENKS 4 ALLL

    KOSOVO 4 LIVE!!!!

    FUCK Serbians!!!!!

    JAMES BLUNT 4 LIVE

  • @Boxery yeah...keep hating, bitch, you'll get far with that...

  • @Boxery Please don`t Blame all serbians for what happened in Kosovo... We are all controled, and most of the people are against what governments do. I`m Portuguese by the way, i`m no part in this awfull conflict, but saing what you said is like blaming all germans for holocaust and all Americans for the atrocity commited by the Illuminati.Point your gun to who deserves it, not to all, your being unfair

  • @migpedroso We are not blaming everyone Miguele. We are blaming those that are to blame. As you may be aware, since you seem to be, NO ONE from the Serb side ever apologized for the genocide in Kosova. That's the issue that's keeping us petrified. Germans at least apologized and showed enough remorse to be forgiven. Those like you who are so keen to defend the Serbs should try and see yourself in the position of someone who lost everyone and everything because of Serbs. James Blunt does it

  • @dardha I do to, and i really understand your part, and i swear that if i was on Kosovo when all of this happened i would feel just the same. What i`m trying to say is that maybe not every serbs think that way.I totally agree that the serbian government have to assume and apologize for what they have done, i cried the first time i realized why james wrote this and how. i`m just saying that there is surely (maybe wont admit it) lots of serbians ashamed for what their leaders did.

  • One more thing, i`m not defending the Serb side, there`s no possible defense for this genocide attempt. I feel nothing more than hate too, for their responsible at the time (especially that sick bastard that is Milosevic).I remember asking myself for about two months why no one would interfere. We also need to apologize, cause we otan should be there since the news started to denunciate atrocities .Many lives could be spared and were not cause of other interests rather than humanitary

  • @migpedroso That's noble of you mate. Just to make it clear from my side as well. I would love it if there are good Serbs and I hope they are. But all I hear from there, even today, is how they desire to come back to Kosova and commit the crimes all over again.

Under those circumstances, you have to understand us, brother, when we are very very of anything which says that we should forgive and forget.

Respect from this side of this beautiful song :o)

  • @dardha Most Serbs are good people, and Serbs were victims too, if each life is worth I do not understand that the Serbian victims no one mentions.Never heard that people want to go to war again, war never brought nothing but suffering

  • @nedameda100 My friend, you don't seem to get the point. They were aggressors who, in order to achieve their territorial goals, have attacked and killed more then 250.000 people, children, women, men. During their campaign they have used rape as a military weapon for territorial purity. Only in Kosova they have burned and destroyed some 150.000 houses(according to UN).

Do you appreciate the magnitude of this?

I'm not saying that there are no good Serbs. But there is no Serb remorse.

  • @dardha No remorse means that they are nor sorry for their crimes. Of course there are Serb victims too. There have to be when they decided to kill and destroy everyone around them.

But, to say that everyone is a victim and everyone is guilty is inhumane, sad and pathetic.

  • @dardha I did not say that everyone is a victim and everyone is guilty, but guilty is he who made crimes regardless of the nation. I know that the president of Serbia sincerely apologized to all victims who were killed in the name of Serb people. I pray that you do not understand me wrong maybe I'm sad and pathetic because I think so. but I am not inhumane because I think that the victim is a victim no matter what nation

  • Not all Serbs went slaughter and rape and kill everybody, and as for the number of casualties, the number is the total number of casualties along with Serbs do not misunderstand me, it would be terrible even if it was one victim, believe me when I say that all used rape as a weapon because the entire Balkan believes that a child inherits the origin of the father, it is horrible and all of these bastards should burn in hell

  • stunning, every time I hear it.

  • that girl in the crowd got a NASTY look from him at :53 for cheering

  • respect

  • love this song

  • this song and vid is fantastic.

  • Wow i like this song too much it is really descriptive and thats what i like about it.

  • wow. he is truly amazing.

  • you can see he's really into the song!!

  • He was a Soldier in the Kosovo War, he wrote this Song in this time. He knows about what he tells...

  • It is so sad to see our young men and women, some, just out of high school, being taken from their families and thrown in this hell hole!

  • @deadobrasil There's no draft, I signed up because I wanna do it. No one is obligated.

  • @deadobrasil i am not geting in to a fight witth this. but when you go and sign up you know what you are going in fore. i would have ended up in Ireland but i did not pass 1 of the test so i did not get in. but at the time i new what i was going on fore.

The problem with this war is know 1 no what it is fore.

  • This is and most all of his music is life! Thank you for this post and thank you even more to James Blunt. James has made a difference and his music continues to have an impact. Peace...

  • They say there is greatness in all. Some have been and seen, Some don't know what they saw, others closse there eyes and hide but some SOME change the world.

  • whenever some1 slates him i always say listen 2 this song and tell me the mans not a fucking genius.

  • I don't think he gets the respect he deserves

  • @hi262779 to fuck with those who don't respect JB. You and me do and we are the name of change!

  • @hi262779 Of course, as long as cheap singers like Miley Cyrus exists, people that do real work are not really appreciated among our youths.

  • @hi262779 Of course, cause he doesn't write cheap songs like "Party in the USA"!!! In all his songs there is real meaning.

  • He's a great man. Such a powerful song.

Poar Serbians their Churches destroyed lifes ruend.Сербы держитесь! Получат эти паганые Албанцы по заслугам!

  • he wrote this song for the albanians who were massacred, mothers stomachs ripped open, men, children, elder, killed without remorse.

  • i have been there

  • Heartbreaking

  • Powerful.

This man has a talent for song writing, not to mention musical talent.

    Powerful.

  • #ℒℴѵℯ ♫*

  • He has been here

  • I´ve been here *;o)

  • just Listen .. thats real music

  • i see no bravery...

  • i have been there ....

  • Kosovo loves u James.......thanks a lot

  • i see much bravery in your eyes, only greatness

  • I was in the British Army in both Bosnia and Kosovo and this song so symbolises the tragic waste of human life that happened in both those wars. It takes me back to the smell and slaughter that was the Balkans. I sit here crying at my own failure to stop the killing, I wish I could of done more the faces of those I failed will haunt me forever.

  • it's not you're fold! blame the one's hwo wanted war not the ones hwo came to stop it!

  • @frenckebben We could have stopped earlier, we have failed and badly cause other interests rather than humanitary

  • it's not you're fould! blame the ones hwo wanted war not the ones hwo came to bring peace!

  • YOu never failed brother.

You had no way of steering the ship

The so-called UN mandates and the NWO enforcing them was an illusion. You have those memories to this day gripping your body. I pray you know that the whole commonwealth cares for you. One day our soldiers will be used properly and paid properly for their emotional sacrifices. Much respect and appreciation from a Nordic-ANglo Canadian.
