They must be very rare. I've never seen black and white Pearl & Dean ads before. I suppose they could have been demo copies printed in cheaper monochrome to show clients what their finished ads would look like...minus the colour.
I was a cinema projectionist throughout the 1960's and these seem to be television adverts to me, as by 1960...indeed, by 1958...all Pearl & Dean cinema commercials were in colour. So why are these in black and white?
