  • Amazing! my younger years relived. All I can say is thank you!

  • This is really cool. Have you done any more of them?

  • @isleofthieves Hi, all the first 5 books of the Kai series are available at my download page (see the video description)

  • This is awesome. Too close to like reading the real thing though. I think I'd rather just do that. But the fighting feature is pretty sweet :) Some of the books would be hard as hell like this without a little cheating lol. "Castle Death" would probably kick my ass every time lol. As would "The Deathlord of Ixia". That book is so hard

  • hey is it still in stores? iv looked online 4 it for days and i cant find it. still, it looks like a rly awesome game.

  • @ODDFunnyFilms: Hi, well it's a free game, you can't buy it in stores. You can download it on the official page (see the video description for the link). But you'll need a flash cart to play it, like other homebrews.

  • This games are awesome, thank you for creating it for DS, thank you on your effort to make this happen, i played first 2 parts about hundred times already!

this concept is great IMHO, and i think that this game has potential as commercial game, i would buy it! as soon as i get some money on pay pal, i'll sure donate as i want to see other sequels on DS!

This is great, dude, thank you once again for making this wonderful job!

  • A great adaptation of a gamebook to the DS. Good choices of music and background for the text, and character burning seems to be very smooth. The dice roller is especially classy.

Add some production values, like music tracks and full-color art, then bundle the books as originally intended (with five stories for each level of difficulty) and I could easily see this as a budget title on PlayStation Network.

  • Thanks... it was realy fun to see that demo. Seems some are saying maybe you made the port? If so... congratulations! :-) I have the books (well US 1-20 and various UK of those.. none above 20) and nice to see new life put in them.

  • I had the chance to play the first two books you ported on the DS, and only one word came to my mind: MASTERPIECE.

So, I thank you deeply for creating these two gems of a porting.

And now for the hideous question: will you ever continue the porting?

Thanks in advance for your reply!

  • I'd love to see this done with the Steve Jackson Sorcery books. Ever think of making a retail game?

  • Thanks for the kind words. Well a publisher, who was interested in the LoneWolfDS concept, contacted Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone about this. But he didn't get any reply, so I guess they are not interested. Too bad, since I'm sure there is a high potential in this concept...

  • You shouldn't quit there. There's always the Zork books.

  • Wow...I love this. I can't even tell you how much I love this. It's better than most real DS games. Is book 3 in the pipe?

  • Well, the text is from the original books, so it should be pretty typo-free.

  • Does the game have many typos, misspellings, or grammar problems? I can deal with some, but a text game shouldn't have more than just a few...can someone answer this? :)

  • A Darklord of Helgedad will most certainly be the final enemy boss of the game.

    I guarandamntee that.

  • Awesome. I'm getting this dl now!

  • HELP: I want this game but can't seem to find where to buy it? any advice????

  • it's a homebrew... xD... you need a flashcart like acekard2i, R4, dstti, etc

  • By the way, how complicated is it to read/play the actual gamebooks?

  • If you ever played Fighting Fantasy you'll have some idea of what to expect. But the LoneWolf gamebooks are far more detailed.

I am unsure whhether to suggest reading The Legends of Lone Wolf before hand, it will spoil some of the surprises in the gamebooks but provide a lot of background infomation.

  • Good game, really good game.

I have just discovered this game one day ago, and played the 1st chapter, and now downloading the 2nd chapter.

    Keep your good work :-)

  • "Age: 15"

    HURR.

  • This game is not for childs.

  • If you consider reading to be boring, than yes I suppose it is... I remember a time when game developers would have to focus on actual GAMEPLAY, rather than simply relying upon flashy graphics. In the 80's interactive books were at their peak and Lone Wolf was one of the best of that genre. Anyway, this is probably my favorite ds game series.

  • Actually, I love this game. And I'm not much of a reader at all.

LoneWolfDS the best homebrew EVER. This got me loving Lone Wolf ALOT.

I really got to get myself the actual gamebooks, although I don't think they're as fun as this, especially since it's impossible that they are as convenient.

Lone Wolf is just about the coolest crap ever made. Huge kudos to everyone who helped making this lovely piece of homebrew (of course, including the original creators).

  • hah now that you mention it, I'm not really a reader either :)

The actual books are great, even thought it is obviously a little more tedious. I recommend the projectaon versions though, since they have an automated "action chart" of sorts on the website, so that makes it easier... even though it's not as streamlined as the ds ports.

Oh! "seventh sense" is sorta like a pc version of lonewolf ds by the way, its also on the website.

  • Thanks.

  • Interactive Gamebooks rocked !!

  • The new 1.4 version is available. Many bug fixes, and you can now play a fully translated version into Spanish!

  • I haven't been able to play my DS in a while and I have yet to get the chance to try left-handed mode, but I just wanted to say I really appreciate it!

  • I just downloaded this on my R4. It's may favorite homebrew I've downloaded yet. Great Job!

  • 1,3 version released! :)

  • Hi,

Version 1.2 is now available! The biggest addition is a left-handed mode! :)

Now that the game engine is stabilized, I'll begin to work on book II.

    Have fun!

    Michoko

  • Are there any emulators that will run this?? Because I don't have a DS but I want to try this. I tried some emulators and couldn't get anything to work.

  • Hey, cool that people have ported this to the DS :)

Love Seventh Sense for the PC as well!!

I can't wait for the PC game by Ksatria

  • great homebrew project, really...i hope you'll continue the series.

  • its very good!

    keep up the good job!

if i find any bugs ill contact u ASAP!

  • amazing. I hope to god this project continues.

  • This is amazing. I haven't been this immersed in a game in a long while. Very well done, cheers!

  • FYI, version 1.0 is now available for download. :)

For the left-handed option, please read my FAQ, but I'm still studying the question though.

    Have fun! :)

  • fantastic would really love more books to be put on to it. Just finished this the other night. I second the comment about a lefthanded option being put on.

  • I have a question though.

Are there any plans on making the game left-handed friendly? I'm not sure how the game is programmed, but if you could just flip the images so the system can be held upside down while playing it would make it much easier to play for lefties.

I've already beaten the game, so obviously I'm not too worried about it. I'll be playing a few more times before I put this bad boy away.

    Fantastic work.

Everything about it is just plain awesome! :D

  • ... wow.

    ... just wow.

    Damnit that's fantastic.

  • Woah!

looks extremely good, no action though so it's not my style.

but pretty darn awesome for someone who likes this kind of games.

    right on!
