Any haka should be done with pride and passion. The reason why you see alot of our people upset by others performing it is, because those performing it overseas usually make a mockery of the haka which is a mockery of our heritage which in turn is a mockery to us as Maori. It's not being ignorant it's being realistic, however I do respect what you are stating. I am a Maori/Welsh girl and proud of my Maoritanga.

The Maori Haka was originally used by the Maori Warriors to seduce the other tribesmen into homosexual acts such as sodomy, cowboy butt sex, and ZJ's, The swirly-girly tattoo's they sport are an example of their homosexual pride, as they would also put swirls on their ass cheeks, to mark it as a target. Today it is used before Rugby matches and during Lu'aus to show that the Maori people still support homosexuality and all that good stuff... Fight On you Fierce Warriors of Homo-Eroticism.

Perhaps you did not watch the last World Cup in France. "Los Pumas" won two games against France. The second one was for the third place. France defeated the All Blacks. Do you remember this? Good day.
this video sucks there is no message but to sell the brand. the all blacks is the best team in the world and i respect that they love their culture and their roots too.
can't wait for Ngati Toa to get THEIR haka back. Maybe then they'll have more say on how it's performed. These All Blacks do it like some sort of contemporary dance. The words are garbled, the actions are like a mis-match (to the words) e.g 'whiti te ra' is reference to Te R leavng his hiding place, the closed hand action that reaches down below the left elbow then opens (to wiriwiri), above the hed/sholdr refers to the sun shining. AB's way off mark (maybe y they not so hot these days too!)
As a non new zealander we are constantly being told that performing the Haka is not an unfair advantage, that its meant to represent the spirt of new zealand, its people and its rugby team.......all bullshit by the looks of it - pay me enough cash and i'll sell whatever you got.......
some people are so STUPID!! let me first apologize as a maori for some of the comments that have been written about white people doing the haka. i am a brown skinned maori with dark hair and brown eyes , my brother is blueyed light hair and light skinned there are no full blooded maori left , let us share our culture , let others embrace it , dont be ignorant , increase the peace!
I totally agree. I'm African-American and proud of it, and/but there is something about Maori culture, particularly the haka, that resonates with me. I'm hesitant to claim maori culture as my own, but what I have for it is deeper than just respect. I agree that culture is meant to be shared, and that if you feel a connection with a culture or a people that you ought to be able to express that, just so long as you recognize and respect where it came from and why.
I read a lot of comments about how silly Ali Williams and Byron Kelleher look, but when they do the haka and when they play, I can totally see and feel how passionate and proud they are. That goes for all of them. They respect it, embrace it, and seem to have an understanding of what it means. Karamalkel is so right about letting people express themselves and sharing cultures.
@karamalkel, i know what you mean dude, there are still full blood's out there still, and good thing, really like the maori culture i been practicing the word's
@123MRwolfe no there arent. no maori's are still alive. maori's will eventually simply not exist any more in the near future. New zealand will always take pride in where we came from, though.
@karamalkel I just wanted to say thanks for your insightful comment. I'm a blonde, green eyed kiwi, born in New Zealand. I love this country and it's culture, and am proud to tell people in other countries about the haka and what it means. It's sad, you're right, there are no full blooded Maori left - so yes, let's share OUR culture, let others embrace it respectfully and definitely increase the peace. Kia Kaha.
We who come after should praise and respect even the echo of such a magnificent culture. And the All Blacks' use of the Ka Mate has shown the world that the Maori will not die, but live. Even if some of them are white, the Maori appear to have taught them well. And if the kids from Kelburn practice the haka, at least their not forgetting it, which seems to be what our modern world does best.

Yeah who wants to see Richie McCaw doing the haka? Thousands of white kids across New Zealand doing the haka. They should ban them and just make it for Maori kids. Please instruct your white kids immediately. As part maori you can do part of it, but a blood test will be needed. Very, very sad.
