    Customer Reviews:

This is my first touch-screen phone. Did a lot of research before I settled on this one. The Marvel seemed to have the the best ratings amongst the phones in its class. When I received it, the language was Portuguese. I manage to sort it out though (I eventually had to sit and read the manual).PROS:The ...

  • aw man... why they showing broken phone??

  • Is there really any actual point / benefit to being able to bend it? I really can't see any real reason as to you why someone would even want this... it's not even "Cool" -.- Just dumb, really.

  • @bourky93 not really. humans only have two eyes, nowadays flat 16:9 monitors are perfect for us, can't really see more

  • @nixxxon18 I know, that's why I'm saying this contraption is stupid... In theory, it is kinda cool, but it's just another gimmick that will die out once people get over it and realize that there is no real point to having it.

  • @bourky93 It is cool, i mean, you can bend the god damn screen. it's actually quite awesome that they've made a screen that you can bend. I mean it doesn't have any real uses i guess but normally if you try to bend a tv screen or a laptop's screen or just any screen whatsoever, it breaks. So this piece of tech is just amazing.

  • @TerranWTF . There are many Applications for screens like this.

Imagine a wrist watch which contours to your arm.

180º viewing monitor for Aircraft simulators or Driving training ( or us hard core gamers)

But you are correct in saying that this screen will survive quite well when you hire some 3rd rate removalist to pack up your house. :)

  • @rowskey1 Except this isn't big enough for most of that stuff yet.. Except the wrist watch.

As a gamer i would love to have a bendable screen tho. (Don't even know if bendable is a word, if it wasn't before then it is now)

  • @TerranWTF But that's just it though =/ it just seems like a gimmick and nothing more. How do you advertise something of no real benefit? "Just like the old one, but now you can bend the screen"? When it comes to technology, the selling point is the UI, the power of the the soft/hardware, the life span, the memory, the speed and anything else you can think of. The last thing I care about whether or not the screen is bendable (yes, that's a word) which has no practical benefit that I can see.

  • @bourky93 Well if they make it smaller, they could make like wrist watch that you also can watch movies on. (Might be abit hard to watch movies but you could do other stuff too)

  • @TerranWTF A screen the size of a wrist watch to watch movies... really? That's more redundant than the 3d feature in the 3DS -.-

  • @bourky93 WEll... i thought it might have been a cool idea.

  • wow !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Enjoy your curved monitor You small brained fools don't you see if you cover a whole room floor ceiling and 4 walls add a suspended massage chair with a full range of motion in the center you have a freaking holodeck.

  • THEN APPLE WILL CLAIM THATS OUR IDEA AND WILL START SUING THEM

  • The new feature of future smartphones- Vibrator on demand..

Roll it, Shove it, call it! Insta Orgasm!!

  • WHY DIDNT YOU BEND IT? I think they were scared of bending it thats why they didnt do it

  • how much is it ????

  • purpose?

    you lack of imagination.

this technology can be used for anything

  • This will be amazing for 360 degree room cinemas, or circular cinemas, dome tv

  • @MarkoRuzinOfficial that actually wouldent be that good.

  • @MrTommyROFL Sure, you're free to think like that. Pessimism is the mark of the century. I still think this is an amazing concept.

  • WEIRD;;;CUZZ IVE NEVER HAD THE CUSIOSITY OF BENDING MY PHONE

  • Fold it up in your pocket and pull it out when you need it. Amazing!

  • if u blend it enough it becomes a watch ^^kinda stupid if u ask me

  • i appreciate the change in new technologies.but what's the point of this device?

how can you watch the videos if you BLEND or BEND the device?

  • For the people wondering about the point of this, maybe one day we could just unravel a whole screen the size of an ipad without actually having to carry a screen that large which just makes screens that much more compact and portable

  • WHEN THE FUCK ARE THEY GOING TO MAKE A HUGE ASS CURVED EXTRA-WIDESCREEN MONITOR FOR US GAMERS? I know alienware had a prototype but theres nothing new about that anywhere... I would totally buy a curved monitor

  • @kyle3420 gotta have your neck broken with this. You only have two eyes pointing at the front... a flat 16:9 screen is perfect. dont be a dum jerk

  • WOW

  • SAMSUNG ROCKZZZ ♥

  • i can see a really good use for it u can have it in your back pocket and not break it when u sit, wish Apple would grab that technology if it true

  • I think Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus use this screen

  • whats the cost of one of these currently?i know they arent out yet but just currious at the price tag to make these

  • whats the purpose?

  • Whoahahaha... wadafuck LCD that can bend like kungfu panda.. awesomeness + nothing is total fukin awesome... NICE :D

  • Start off... My original joke was "will it blend" not bend. Ask a joke! For people who doesn't know blendtec. Please feel free to google "will it blend...iPhone...iPad...etc" They blend all the new cool gadget etc.. So yeah instead of boring question bend. Of course it will bend. I want to see this phone blend! Lol. So yeah hope this will clarify my joke.

  • "ok so what are the benefits of this"

    "ummmm uhhhhh ummm uhhhh"

  • am i the only one who went whooooo when i saw it........ and yes i know.... im sad

  • can someone explain to me what is the point of this device?

  • wat this is pirated.i say sony invent one first.

  • Haha...when he said "what are the benefits of this?" I thought the guy was going to say "Oaahh?...oaahhh?" Then run for it. lol..IDK why I thought that

  • mainly two advantages 1.works like phone 2.once it is out of juice works like toilet paper pretty useful than rest of phones.

  • Why would you want that? Be pretty pointless having it bent around and not being able to see the other half of the screen :/ Useless IMO..

  • @StrickenHAWK666 im pretty sure its so that it wont break or crack

  • @stufoo I don't see how it would make any difference to normal screens if it was designed for that..?

  • @StrickenHAWK666 how couldnt you?

  • @StrickenHAWK666 Look up the iScroll. If you can roll up the screen, and have it stiffen on command, you can basically carry a laptop inside a TV remote sized form factor.

  • make longer one to wrap around face

  • Wow,

how about apillow that wakes you up with light???

or tv in your car seats that is flexible???

    wow the world will change...

  • We need this to have,

    1- Screens on books.

    2- Screens on clothes.

    3- Screens as wall paper.

4- Screens on our watch belt for information on weather, temperature, and time. (no need for a bulky watch).

    5- Screens as keyboards.

    and more and more....

These fuctions are what I was able to think of in 2 mibutes, how about giving scientest years to find functions for them??

  • but WHY?

  • Wow that is useless.. that is when the companies ran out of ideas to improve picture quality...

  • What a technical advance... JOKE! Samsung develops flexible displays hoping some day in the future will develop flexible phone while Nokia is already demonstrates a FLEXIBLE PHONE, the Kinetic Phone... :D

  • imagine that phone can bend like plastisine playdoh style and still be able to show that quality hd image...haha...

  • @azimhulaimi Check such a phone searching the Nokia Kinetic Phone. Is already here. :)

  • this pretty much could work as a child proof movie activity mini center. Imagine giving a kid and ipad to play with and drops it....problem solved. But still...i cant help to wonder if it blends? XD

  • What ever workforfoodfagget1!

  • But will it blend???

  • Man you ppl saying "what's the point of a bent screen" and not wanting a phone that bends are really shallow thinking people. This video only shows one aspect of the possibilities of that kind of technology . Look past a bendable phone jeez.

  • @01prepre the nice thing about these things are if you drop them you wont shatter them into a million pieces if thier bendable.

  • Search for "apple prototype mac life" in google images... you'll see what i mean. ;-)

  • benefits??? it truly opens the door for many possibilities. Just as an example... you can have a portable & super light "tablet" that can even have twice the screen-size as current iPad2 but "rolled" into the main chassis so that it's half the size (Apple's prototype in Mac Life 2011-Jan). OR if you're a gamer, you could have a flexible screen that surrounds you as much as your peripheral vision allows, while playing driving games or 3Dshooter!

  • Comment removed

  • Advantages? You make everyone around u fucking jealous that's what.

  • maybe the benefit is if the screen is on your phone, it can bend and curve so it makes the same shape as your face?

  • Flexible, now you can put it on your back pocket and sit with it. lol

  • "So what are the benefits of this?"

"Uhhh.... uhhhh..... if you have Hot Wheels you can use this as a racetrack too."

  • @sawlist lol

  • Very neat, but why would I need to bend my screen? I don't see any practical use...

  • @12345jack1

i think making it flexible will make it more durable. If the screen is too rigid, the screen might crack easily when dropped.

  • Camera Guy: so, what are the benifits of this?

Chinese Guy: uhhhhh ahhhhhh uhhhhh the benefits are uhhh uhhhh...

  • @schumaa4 Samsung is Korean

  • @Naturalrice No, it's Chinese.

  • I don't understand - why do we need to bend our phone screens?! O_O

  • Comment removed

  • shiny...

  • please make patent to flexible display, so Apple do not shit again.

  • MUTHA FUCKIN 2012 BITCH

  • OH SHIT DA FAK?

  • a phone that will contour to your face?

    megusta.jpg

  • @nintendoatarikiller what i'm talkin bout. now wear your phone on your face like glasses. wait a minute, Appleseed Ex Machina "Nexus-Technology" sweet!!

  • bad bad phone.....

  • Great.Remember I was here.Thai 4:07PM 12/5/2011

  • Cool

  • If it was shaped like a football, I would be interested ;)

  • looks amazing :D i just thing when will aple wil copy that ?

  • @soulbytes LoL true man btw i am a hp fan

  • later will be seeing news paper like in Harry potter

  • pitboy 3000!

  • nokia was the first to showcase flexi displays

  • Will it blend?

  • @iiialphaiii it may blend, but will definitely bend :D

  • @iiialphaiii I guess so ;)!

  • @iiialphaiii Actually, the question is, will it BEND? They kept talking bull, but nobody grabbed the phone and `folded it` so the viewers could witness the miracle. Disappointing.

  • @iiialphaiii Will it Bend?

  • @iiialphaiii no itll just be curved around like an elastic band

  • only need other parts to be flexible and we will have tvs on our toilet paper. Naaa just jk nice technlogy.

  • @diabloxxx400 no tv just ads lol

  • @diabloxxx400 I first heard about this around 2006.. the predictions were that the technology would be ready in 5-6 years.. Whoever said that was right... In not crazy about all this, but let us not forget that this is an OLED, not an LCD. The quality of OLED displays is stunning, as evident in this video. Time for the OLED to finally step in and take over. It can bend too??? SWEET! We'll be able to take our 42" TVs anywhere we go. Just roll one up and you're set..

  • Its broken basicly

  • wow sugoi

  • nice tech there don't get me wrong but who the hell wants that kind of display? what's next? bent keypads? :S

  • @kamenidriss Have you seen them sold anywhere? They are just for show off for the CES what Samsung can do.

  • @kamenidriss Dumb idea? I would be interested in a wristband phone...on wich I can read anything in good quality or watch movies while travelling. Interested too in a non-breakable sun-glass which can help find my way in the town while riding my bike. ..And the ideas are infinite.. Check out some concepts/ideas.

  • LUV SAMSUNG

  • but will it bend?

  • hit em wit dat flex

  • Cool but i dont see the need to a flexible display.

  • @Sungkawa yea you do, Military use.

  • @greensky01 military use maybe

  • i wonder how its will work in windy weather]

  • @jokerssd you will get a a very expensive flexible kite

  • Warning!

    maximum bends: 1000 times

  • why would i ever want a bent screen? If it bends thats cool cuz I know its durable but why would I want the ability to bend it?

  • @bobblackmantube because it's cool ? and also , they are not making it just for tv's , just think about it , a phone which you can bend , it looks from the future

  • @william69952 heck, when it was 2002 the iphone concept of being touchscreen (which 1st gen came out in alien year, lol 2007) i remember ppl would your crazy!! (in like 2002 or so.. the iphone was from "the future" lol

  • @bobblackmantube Are you really this dumb? You don't want to bend it on purpose, but it can bend and won't snap in half like other screens. That's the point, it's just a hell of a lot more durable.

  • Would be neat how having flexible led's would affect street advertising, such as having a screen wrap around objects

  • coolbeans, but what the hell would i wanna bend the screen for?

  • @eRadiated ever seen a cracked lcd screen? imagine, not being able to crack an lcd screen because its flexible.

  • these make the Nokia 888 concept look promising

  • Comment removed

  • Sorry, but I don't want to be carrying a bent up tin can in my pocket... who would honestly WANT to be straightening their phone out every time it get's bent out of shape?

  • @InvisiMan2006

    It's not a phone, it's just a display.

All AMOLED and OLED screens are flexible, Samsung is just showing off their own OLED tech: AMOLED.

  • @SimonFanTV I believe the intent is to use these displays in cell phones, which is why the specs shown at the beginning of the video are pretty much cell phone display specs. Of course, the application would be better if it wasn't a cell phone display, but they didn't demo a "large" screen to show it's potential.

  • @InvisiMan2006

They already use these displays in cellphones.

  • @SimonFanTV didnt it start mass production already?? i read somewhere that it has.

  • This is the technology the print industry should've been investing in, ohhh about 5 years ago. Not the Ipad.

  • So I may be mistaken, but this looks like it has to be pre-shaped. Is that true? It's not actually bendable?

  • @Simonific - They are flexible but they put them in those forms for display and example purposes. You could bend it into any shape. The problem i've seen with these displays are that they can end up kinda screwy if you bend them too much or fold them. It breaks the circuits and you end up with these lines that don't display anymore. So that's probably why they are in those forms.

  • Are they able to up the pixel density (dpi) to retina display levels? I would have already picked up a Samsung Galaxy if the resolution had been high enough to read a regular web page without having to zoom in. You can do that on the iPhone 4 but I'm not really keen on going down the Apple road. Slippery slope.

  • THATS SO FRICKIN COOL!!!! i would totally buy that if or when it comes out :D
