Just wondering if anybody could explain to me how a turbo works? I have a vague idea, and know how a normal 4 stroke engine works, so dont be afraid to give a detailed explanation :) Just curious :D
@cheeseywonder The exaust gases make the turbo spin. Spinning the turbo spins another turbine on the cool side of the turbo. That turbine has a whole different tubing system, and its objective is to bring in more air, wich will be forced into the engine with the fuel for the combustion.
So, instead of having normal airflow to the inside of the engine you have a turbine forcing much more air inside. More oxigen = better burn.

Its a little more complicated than that ive made it easy for you to underdtand how it works :). personaly i wouldn't put one on my bike, when a turbo boosts you get a surge of power, not a bright idea wen going round a bend.
@cheeseywonder if you match the 'finger print' turbo map up with your engine and tune it good it wont surge- unless you want it to- its all in turbo choice and application.

@Denime are you fucking insane ??? The turbo R6 will be shit around corners due to the steep power curve and abrupt throttle... a turbo bike is only good for going in a strait line... kiss your cornering abilities goodbye... It will be too easy to loose traction in a corner. You're also gonna have to undercut the first 3 gears if you want them to last... stock R6 bikes from 99-02 loose their second gear after time, I can only imagine a first gen. turbo R6.
@ninja6kid he coulda brought up the psi to wild levels and made more powa than a 1K, but thats assuming he brought up the internals with it to handle it too
I have a 99 r6 and I'm plotting on doing this... If I give you my email can you send me a brief "how to" beings you already did it? I know the basics and how it works and what not I just would like some type of parts list and brief instructions from somebody that's been through the process.. Ya know? I'd appreciate it if you have the time bro!
