  • It's shtick. The only agenda either one of them has is getting laughs. And Craig loves it when someone like Maher comes on his show and messes with him. Self-deprecation is part of Craig's shtick. Loved the body language when Craig attempted his 'defense' of religion. Two very different comedians, but both very funny, in my view.

  • Haha, this is HILLARIOUS.

Bill Maher and Craig are two VERY different hosts. I always wondered how the combo would work out.. Even AFTER watching this.. i'm still not sure what went on, but it was.. HILLARIOUS

  • bill is a dick. ignorant, bigot, full of himself.

  • this was filmed on a michael j fox camera.

  • just to be fair to hinduism, our crazy shit is no where close to the crazy shit of islam, christianity and judaism combined.

  • hhahahahhaha lmfao hilarius

  • Comment removed

  • At 6:08 i was disappointed Craig didn't counter Bill Maher's "i swear to God though" with "You swear to who?"

  • Hi, I'm from India haha

  • i think bill is high lol

  • What is up with that republicanish comment by maher at the end of the segment ?

  • I don't think ferguson seems at all like a dim wit, I have no idea who originally said that. He is very smart and quick witted. These two are definitely worthy opponents for each other.

  • Religion is not real, but love is. ahahaha. lol and craig "that's the most shameless plug I've ever seen!" I love how bill is not afraid to say literally anything on his mind lol

  • i was so happy to see this one come up. i know how defensive craig gets about his belief so i knew there would be some barbed wrangling. wrangling between two of the quickest minds around. totally awesome cuz you know bill will have none of it, maher is constantly attacked for his ridicule of religion but never backs down, you could sense craig knew he couldn't win this one.

and yes bill was on it early with obama being a sell out just like all the rest of them. great interview.

  • Bill's high :D

  • I am from India!!! lmao.. and Hindu gods r shit! :D

  • "Jesus Christ" and such is such a common saying because Christianity has been pounded in to American society.

  • Just like there are crazy religious people, there are crazy atheists too!

I think Bill just wants to belong

  • @wookieman7394

wtf are you talkig about? it's cbs. they are limited in their opinions, launguage and time, idiot!

  • Craig is god damn hilarious.

  • @DrinkSkateSleep

Not nearly as funny as bill. Open your ears and re-listen to this. Bill back handed craig so many times it's as pitiful as it is hilariious.

  • @brainboob Chill bro

  • Craig seems to be hesitant when it comes to religion and politics, which i think is a good thing. We actually get a show that doesnt talk about typical TV crap and sticks to just straight comedy

  • @LBJstevenash13

Straight comedy that's not even that funny. Like dane cooke. I'll take comedy with a message and some wit. Thanks.

  • @brainboob Ok...good for you...I dont give a fuck

  • guys bill doesn't hate craig, they're just messing with each other.

look at other interviews between bill and craig.

  • Brilliant men!!

  • "There are people who love marriage---they're called WOMEN" LOL--- Bill Maher must listen to Tom Leykis. Love Bill's views on marriage and religion.

  • This man might just be the most hopless idiot ever! I was a little upset that Craig didn't fight back on certain issues

  • @LoveSarasota Its spelled hopeless---not "hopless"---and Bill Maher isnt an idiot.He's brilliant.

  • Bill is such a idiot! I was a little upset Craig didn't fight back on certain issues

  • I'm watching it in INDIA!!!

  • 6:08 HE SWEARS TO GOD!! GASP! HE IS RELIGIOUS! lol.

  • Bill really speaks his mind. This guy is pretty cool.

  • BM doesn't seem to be Craig's biggest fan...

  • @johnkelly46

Why should he have to be his fan he owns craig in every department.

  • @brainboob I'm a Maher fan but to say he owned CF is ridiculous

  • @johnkelly46

It's obvious. He wittily back handed furguson so many times that Furguson was just sitting there like a dumb founded dimwit.

  • @brainboob 8:45 , Ferguson didn't seem like a dimwit.

  • never even heard of craig until now, hes pretty good

  • my cousin told me that craig ferguson is the best and i was like *cough* Conan.. but i'm drunk right now and i am laughing really hard at craig ferguson right now.. + 1v point

  • wow i love craig, and i always thought he wasnt afraid to be contreversial but he seemed really uncomfortable with bill here.

  • wow bill maher is quite the asshole, isn't he?

  • Bill maher is a pretty big to craig in this. calls him a fool and a foreigner.

  • 3:17 LOL!

  • i fuck hate bill he is a duchbeg

  • @paranoidandroid505 Why? Because he's real. He's not pretending to be someone he isn't.

  • I've been a fan of Bill's for a few years now however, I have to say I found him quite obnoxious here and a bit disrespectful towards Craig.

  • @scottydog1407 That's probably because he was trying to get back at craig for kicking him off his show previously after two minutes because he said something 'inappropriate'

  • @Aftersomerain - OK. I wasn't aware of any such event.

  • @Aftersomerain

Yea, the michael jackson comment right? That was fuckin hilarious. Fuck craig for booting him off. That network pussy.

  • @scottydog1407

I loved every second of his disrespect toward craig. I find craig mediocre at best.

  • the fact that bill maher said i swear to god does not mean hes ahypocrite....thats a figure of speach. i say holy shit, i dont believe in feces that is holy.

  • if harry potter was written 2000 years people would say it really happened. hell its got some of the same elements. talking snakes, magic trees, people dying and coming back to life. flying people.

  • difficult interview it seems. LOL

  • 8:02-8:04 they cut something out there I noticed hehe.

  • "Religion is not real...but love is." LOL

  • Bill Maher is so right about religion

  • @paranoidandroid505 sucks you don't see it, because you'll shit bricks when you do.

  • When the host said "Bill what do you think you're up to?" I thought my ribs were gonna break....LMAO!!

  • great interview :D i like them both

  • I was laughing so hard even when they were having quiet pauses...love these two :)))))))))))))))))))))

  • Bill Maher is a tosser

  • i like bill maher but its unfair to say all indians are batshit religious, i am not !

  • @jonno2019 Maher never said indians, Ferguson did. Maher said that Hindus were crazy as Christians and Muslims for believing in magic and stuff, then Ferguson said 'good bye india'. I think he's pretty careful about the line between religion and nationality: he insults enough people on purpose, there would be no point in alienating people he has no issue with.

  • Yeah Hindus belive in virgin birth a

god that rides a cow .

    half man half elepahant.

  • thats not the true story. if you actually went on the internet, or picked up a book, you would know the truth about Hinduism. Most astronomical, scientific, and mathematic facts have been discovered by Hindus about 5000 years ago, ie The Big Bang.

  • @dhruv494 I think I know more than you i have read ramayan mahabharat and gita. Hindus beleive world was created by a god called Bhrama not by big bang. India did produce a lot of good astronomers in ancient times but thier discovries are not the same as proposed by hinduism. Only thing i can say is they belived in a round earth though. Other than that hindu texts are very scietifically inaccurate.

  • @dhruv494 The Big Bang theory was brought forth by a Belgium priest....

  • @cheeseandbabys ...ya, in Europe. But Indian and Chinese astronomers/astrologers knew that stuff for millenia. Europeans are reluctant to believe it...I swear, look it up

  • @dhruv494 Ok, thats besides the point that a Belgium Priest first proposed it.

  • @cheeseandbabys ok...all you did, was discredit everything I said, which basically proves what I said about the europeans being reluctant to believe it. The Belgian priest proposed it...but way before that Asian cultures knew about it for millenia.

  • @dhruv494 All i was trying to say was that he was the first one to propose it..

  • @cheeseandbabys ...yes, but he wasn't the first to figure it out

  • @dhruv494 Then why didnt they say anything.......

  • @cheeseandbabys ...well it is in a tonne of books...but Europeans discredit them...pretty unfair if you ask me

  • @dhruv494 UHHH of well who cares.....

  • @cheeseandbabys wow...pathetic

  • @dhruv494 LMFAO. You are stupid. It does not matter who first proposed it. The Asians did not know it for "Milena" sorry. Also i looked it up and i did not find anything about how they knew it before him.( George Lemaitre) You are pathetic randomly making things up. SAD

  • @dhruv494 Also i'm not European.....

  • @cheeseandbabys so wat? you think just like them...

  • @dhruv494 Stereotype much? Where are you from?

  • @cheeseandbabys Canada

  • @dhruv494 Lol....... Funny country is funny.......................... I'm done talking to you because i have already won the conversation.

  • @cheeseandbabys wtf? how did yu win? you just kept repeating the Belgian thing, while I gave you hard facts. If you feel that you won, then whatever...in the end you just proved everything that I was trying to tell you

  • @dhruv494 IDIOT. Last thing im going to say.

  • i am from India , lol

still love both craig and bill maher.

  • Good that you do, but your first statement

"i'm from india" , i hope that doesn't equate to "people from india are irrational religious people"

    i'm sure a lot are, but i hope you aren't :)

or saying that you are from india as if it's something rare :)

there are almost a billion of you guys, so it's not that special hihi :)

  • @beebobox

    you are an idiot .

  • thx for showing me how intelligent and thoughtful you are, perhaps you didn't understand what i meant. if so. to bad for you, doesn't matter either way for me :)

perhaps you are sensitive and can't see the fun side of things, if so i pity you, i hope you grow out of that kind if thinking.

at any rate, cheers and i hope you have a good life :)

  • @beebobox

i know there are a billion of indians ,

the reason i wrote that i was indian because though there are many indians but not many know bill and craig,

as their shows do not come on TV in India and also Humor deals with things related to poltics of mostly USA .

i myself stumbled on their shows through youtube.

my comments were made in the context of above interview.

it was not a general statement ,

wish you had seen the above video before posting the comment.

  • saying there are not many indians that know the show seems a bit overreaching, i'm sure not all, not even most know them.

but they are quite famous world wide, most people i know, have heard of them or at least Bill, and neither of their shows are broadcast where i live.

but my initial reply to you was in good spirits and humor, and i if a reply was forthcoming was assumed to be something like.

"oh i know, just saying :)"

apologize if it came across as an accusation of stupitidy.

  • I am sorry too for causing any hurt.

  • no hurt caused, a simple case of overreaction and jumping on the defense.

the curse of internet dialogue :)

  • they're only well-known in the US and a coupla other English speaking countries. certainly not world wide heh

  • not saying they're super super famous but most of europe will have heard of them, i.e. the part that's in some way aware of the outside world

the way americans are not :)

but the cultural dominance of the united states worldwide is quite far reaching.

i agree that craig isn't much known outside scotland and the states, but maher is well known to most parts with access to mainstream u.s. media.

where are at least 50 % of most TV programs from in most parts of the world.

  • ?? where did you get that from? they don't get American talk shows in most of Europe. American programmes in general take up about 5% of tv time.

  • i misspoke, wanted to say sitcoms

and i stand corrected about the 50 %.

my point was supposed to be this.

    i live in iceland

i can name you a seemingly endless amount of names of TV shows, sitcoms, movies and reality shows that are american.

a good handful from the UK.

i might be able to name 1 or 2 from germany, france etc. at the most.

and the same goes for people living in germany, they dont show french tv shows if they're showing something foreign.

    but american shows

    why?

  • My God this was friggin hilarious!

    "I do fart jokes Bill...."

  • 'you started it' hahaha

    priceless

  • "I do fart jokes Bill. But listen he may be wonderful but the man farts, and when he does i'll be there!" LMFAO XD

  • Many people who don't believe in God use that as just a figure of speech...jesus christ i hate people like you<-----see my example, hope I helped.

  • @SGTAnimeTV OH MY GOD

  • @SGTAnimeTV GOD DAMNIT!!! Also works. Maybe we should take a hint from South Park and start saying "SCIENCE DAMNIT!!!"

  • @SGTAnimeTV It's true. I'm a former muslim and my native language is Arabic. I use the word Allah in alomst half of the sentences I say, but it's either a figure of speech or just an interjection that is similar to the word "like" (I know it doesn't count, but I think you get the point) or "umm"...

  • its an expression

  • this is comedy gold

  • Wanna have commercials and makeup sex?

    Ferguson owns.

  • ferguson owns this interview.

  • I am a big fan of Ferguson but I disagree, I think he rolls over to try and let Maher shine. Of course Maher comes across as condescending and irratible the entire time.

Of course he has the appearance of makign jest, but his comments and demeanour are frequently maintained as hostile and cold in this interview. The way he dismissed Ferguson as a foreigner was distasteful and cheap.

My view is his general curmudgeon-esque stance to life reduces the currency of his values on religion.

  • @Serpico69

uh what? Bill maher back handed him countless times.

  • I'd watch these two together in a show on a daily basis.

  • lol.. bill says "i swear to god".. aha..;)

  • Bill Maher makes good points. But unfortunately he is too extreme in the way that he expresses himself. People are NOT going to forsake ALL vestiges of religion because Bill Maher says that they are stupid. I do like his points about the separation of religion and politics/government. I understand his frustration with organized religion...it's a bit mad when you actually look at it. But he comes down hard on even individual spirituality. I think there is such a thing as moderate sprirituality

  • I soemhow agree with you, and here's another idea: Atheists have 1 point terribly wrong, just like the religious fanatics: both groups advise other people unilaterally and offer no answer to people that don't find one. If all people suddenly became atheists, I very much doubt that overall their lives will improve...because both extremes are very limited in their approach.

  • yeah i really hate the vile, ugly truth as well

  • Great interview. Both guys were on their game.

  • do you ever google your self ? haha

  • yep it didn't play in SC. I saw it a couple days ago. LMAO I love it cuz he makes you think and ask yourself why do you believe what you believe? B/c u know it's true or b/c someone told you so...Good for all faiths tho it seems to focus on muslims and Christians. Hilarious movie!

  • i loved his movie :)

  • "Do you wanna go to commercial and have makeup sex?" LOL!!! As someone else mentionned before, great "chemistry"... LOL!!!

As for Bill's comments on marriage and everything, well, I'm a married woman who's very much in love with her husband, so I guess the two CAN go together, but the thing is, I would have been happy not to get married. We did "bring the government" into our private affair or however else he phrased it. It's true, really.

  • "what.. i've never been married fool", HAHA awesome.

    This is a funny interview.

  • Craig Ferguson is the best of all the late night shows. He really has come into his own.

  • @freshprince512 "frequently" - carlin

  • @freshprince512 Yes he definitely has what it takes..

  • I understand what you mean by consistency but the word God or even Jesus is so ingrained into the society as an expression of certainty that people even Bill Maher still use it to express a certainty to things they say. Stump your toe oh Jesus Christ that hurt its just an expression to some people it gets the point across to everybody by saying it. "I swear to God" thats just an expression not a statement of belief in Bills case at least.

  • he's tryin to get the ppls attention

  • I always want to like BillMaher but he is so virulent about everything- he is always infallible in his own mind. I can't take that kind of stupidity, even in someone as witty as him.

  • hes usually right though

  • and what exactly do you think hes wrong about? I think thats the problem w/ america, more people should listen to him. If Bill Maher had a following like Rush has the world would be a much better place

  • Bill Maher is a sad sad man LOL

  • great chemistry

  • What...........an intreview.
