The NES version was much harder, and had a lot more combat. Probably the best one they did was the first Battetoads game on the original Gameboy. Best mix of combat and varied levels.

Worst part was this game literally COULD NOT be done in multiplayer due to a glitch. One of the many reasons I stopped at level 3.

Are you sure? I'm aware the NES version has that glitch (on Clinger Wingers), but are you sure the SNES sequel does as well? Where is this glitch?

One thing worth noting: the PAL version has that bug fixed.  I'm curious if the PAL version has the level changes like the Famicom version does, though - the Japanese version is shorter and easier than the NES one.

This game feels like a cheap knock off of the nes version. The original had so may great ideas but this one added nothing apart from a change in graphics.

The banter in the original was witty too. All the text throughout this game just made me cringe.

I bought this game along with Sf2 and a brand spanking new SNES,hell yeah!!Graphically stunning game with great musics aswell,too bad that it was so difficult,noone that I knew managed to beat it,and the same goes for its predecessor on ye good olde faithful NES.

Still,these games rocks!!Back then you knew what you were waiting for,but the same kind of anticipation for games these days is rarely experienced...Sometimes in the past lies the truth.

Same here, still can't beat it even with an emulator, stuck on the damn rollercoaster level, its so damn frustrating, i'd expect a little more of an ending though, super metroid is more my style, battletoads was too much like a bad addiction! I'd die over and over, and keep on trying. lol
