you cant use equipment, because its replaced with the low light vision mode. you can still hijack vehicals to. And also the battle rifle is removed, for unfair reasons. But i think a scoped silenced smg and a supressed pistol is worth it.

They won't be any DLC when the game is released but they might be in the future.

Yes you can change your character, you unlock characters in the campain to play in firefight. You can't customize your armour, as every unlockable character has slightly different armour. You also have the option to have your helmet on or off.

The only armor permutations available to unlock is the Recon armor, which will be unlockable in conjunction with the Vidmaster achievements in Halo 3 and in ODST. In Firefight, I believe you only play as other ODST's, which all wear the same armor (save Dare, she wears Recon helmet).
