This was a good video until the preacher (I think from "Network") who said that reading books and newspapers is the answer while "the tube" isn't. You can just as easily read an incorrect opinion in a book as you could from listening to one on TV. Meanwhile I learned about Ron Paul and Peter Schiff via "the tube" (youtube). So, we have less purchasing power because our dollars aren't worth what they were yesterday, last week, last year, or ten years ago. This is the reason that a 5 cent candybar in the 50's now costs a dollar. It's why a one cent pound of nails now costs 3-5 dollars. And it's why the dollar used to be a large percentage of an ounce of Gold and now gold costs 1200 dollars an ounce. This is the problem with fiat money. It's worthless and that over time becomes more apparent as it keeps falling.

If you had, you'd have had specific responses instead of repeating debunked nonsense. The dollar has devalued into negative worth. The fed fixes prices to hide the worth of the dollar. Bernanke has said as much in revealing that it is part of their job to fix prices. Does it bother you at all that America wants some payback over this? It should.
This is what happens every time the fed prints more dollars, the overall value of the dollar falls because there are more of them with the same overall value. The number of wedges increased but it's the same pie. The fed prints and then loans the money to business as capital. The public is then also TAXED on the new bills because the fed loans them to everyone; but, to banks specifically. We get robbed of value, then we're taxed on that as well in payments to the fed.
I might also note that a bicycle at that time cost more because of the difference in cost and availablility of raw materials, suppy and demand, etc. That said, the average person can't buy a bike with one day's wages. The average person in this country is earning less than 20k a year and has little or no disposeable income. To save up enough to buy a new bicycle for those people might take a year. And as a result of free trade, that class is expanding by leaps and bounds.

The price of Gold is a good indicator as the dollar was originally defined as being worth a specific weight in gold. As the two have traded against each other all along, the comparison is very enlightening. Dollars are worth 1/600th of their worth in 1913 when considering cost per ounce. 4 cents is optimistic. And every time the fed prints money, the dollar devalues even more.

@Foundingfatherfollow I have to agree with the Health care bill because taxpayer will have to pay for people medical either way. Before the Health care bill, if a person doesn't have insurance, they wait till they hit the emergency room. If they have insurance but the insurance companies call it pre-condition, they lose their medical insurance. The emergency room is way more expensive then a check up or preventative. And that cost get added to everyone premium.
@ClaireLe the problem is it is pulled from your pocket to pay for it. you will pay more taxes so that everyone can get it. insurance companies were selling a 60/40 plan before the bill was passed. now it's a 80/20, which means you are paying 80% of the bill. and if you don't get insurance you get jailed. This was a good video until the preacher (I think from "Network") who said that reading books and newspapers is the answer while "the tube" isn't. You can just as easily read an incorrect opinion in a book as you could from listening to one on TV. Meanwhile I learned about Ron Paul and Peter Schiff via "the tube" (youtube). And personally, I feel like the music cheapens these types of videos. The words (and the words alone) are powerful enough when they're from Paul and Schiff.

yeah he passed the new health care bill which will make it much more expensive for everyone.. The gold standard does work because it provides sound money.. So, we have less purchasing power because our dollars aren't worth what they were yesterday, last week, last year, or ten years ago. This is the reason that a 5 cent candybar in the 50's now costs a dollar. It's why a one cent pound of nails now costs 3-5 dollars. And it's why the dollar used to be a large percentage of an ounce of Gold and now gold costs 1200 dollars an ounce. This is the problem with fiat money. It's worthless and that over time becomes more apparent as it keeps falling.

If you had, you'd have had specific responses instead of repeating debunked nonsense. The dollar has devalued into negative worth. The fed fixes prices to hide the worth of the dollar. Bernanke has said as much in revealing that it is part of their job to fix prices. Does it bother you at all that America wants some payback over this? It should.

This is what happens every time the fed prints more dollars, the overall value of the dollar falls because there are more of them with the same overall value. The number of wedges increased but it's the same pie. The fed prints and then loans the money to business as capital. The public is then also TAXED on the new bills because the fed loans them to everyone; but, to banks specifically. We get robbed of value, then we're taxed on that as well in payments to the fed.

I might also note that a bicycle at that time cost more because of the difference in cost and availablility of raw materials, suppy and demand, etc. That said, the average person can't buy a bike with one day's wages. The average person in this country is earning less than 20k a year and has little or no disposeable income. To save up enough to buy a new bicycle for those people might take a year. And as a result of free trade, that class is expanding by leaps and bounds.

The price of Gold is a good indicator as the dollar was originally defined as being worth a specific weight in gold. As the two have traded against each other all along, the comparison is very enlightening. Dollars are worth 1/600th of their worth in 1913 when considering cost per ounce. 4 cents is optimistic. And every time the fed prints money, the dollar devalues even more.

Before the Health care bill, if a person doesn't have insurance, they wait till they hit the emergency room. If they have insurance but the insurance companies call it pre-condition, they lose their medical insurance. The emergency room is way more expensive then a check up or preventative. And that cost get added to everyone premium.

@ClaireLe the problem is it is pulled from your pocket to pay for it. you will pay more taxes so that everyone can get it. insurance companies were selling a 60/40 plan before the bill was passed. now it's a 80/20, which means you are paying 80% of the bill. and if you don't get insurance you get jailed. It's not your responsibility to take care of me. I don't want it, i haven't a need for corporatism.

Also, how come Canada can have universal health care system and not the US? In Canada, the gap b/w rich and poor is small but huge in the US

Because America is no longer a free market it is federally regulated into a corporatist society that forces you to deal with the corporation. license's to do business was a scam to take your right to do business. now you have to pay to do business which is protected that you can't freely start a better business with out one. nobody in congress is protecting your rights.

However, with the emergency room concept, money is being stolen anyway. Again, at the emergency room point it get more expensive. If doctors turn away, they will get sue because no State can deprive any person of life (Bill of right). Look, you may not sue the hospital, but someone else would.
