Why don't you play the game regularly and record a demo(in-game) of yourself playing. Then turn on fraps and playback the demo you recorded earlier. That way it doesn't interfere with your actual gameplay.
happened to me before on goldrush, the sucky thing was WE WERE ON DEFENSE D:

Next time do a demo. Just have it start and keep playing. Much better than fraps.
Just stop it when you want it to end. It records EVERYTHING near you.

well it was all of a sudden, didn't really have time to start a demo and then re-record it, otherwise i would have missed out most of the stuff
