  • There a bunch of Hall of Famers in this game

  • Floyd Little was great in the pros but Csonka had a more prolific pro career. Csonka had three 1000 yard seasons to Little's one. Csonka was also the MVP of Superbowl VIII, Little never played in a Superbowl.

  • My dad was at this game.

He was a freshman at UT that year.He can't remember anything about it because it was 45 years ago.

  • What was up with the sign incident?

  • Just another great moment in Southeastern Conference football. Richmond Flowers Jr. was a very special football player, and his father was a great human being.

  • Wasn't the reason Richmond Flowers played for Tennessee was because his dad (who was Attorney General of Alabama) opposed Gov. Wallace's segregationist policies?

  • @ebf1957 - a movie was made about Flowers and how he was persecuted for his political views.

  • Wasn't the reason Richmond Flowers played for Tennessee was because his dad (who was Attorney General of Alabama) opposed Gov. Wallace's segregationist policies?

  • @ebf1957 No dummy, it was because of UT's Track program. Sheesh, what a bunch of bullshit.

  • @Ghenghy

No need for name calling asshole.

  • @ebf1957 Sorry douchebag.

  • @travellinman321. Tennessee integrated their football team in 1968 with WR Lester McClain. He wasn't the first to integrate that belongs to Kentucky with Greg Page and Nat Northington who were signed but they didn't play much or at all.

  • @travellinman321 ..no the SEC wasn't integrated until the late 60's/early 70's....

  • Excellent video. Brings back many great memories.

  • It's strange seeing Larry Csonka with a straight nose! LOL

  • wow this is great, thank you for putting this up

  • My Dad went to this game.

  • Dewey "Swamp Rat" Warren.

  • nice to see old school football without the excessive 'look at me' celebrations players exhibited back when

  • there all white lol

  • Guess who won?

  • @Stronghurst the vols, its funny to see that. cuz you will never see that again

  • Floyd Little was a better back than Larry Csonak in college and the in the pros.

  • Eh.. 2 different types of running. One thing's for sure though, they both could still play in this day and age.

  • I not talking about styles. Floyd could kick, catch, and return punts. He did it all. Larry could ram through but in college and his first two years with the Dolphins, he lead with his head which made him susceptible to leg tackles but small guys. Then Shula taught him to lead with his forearm. Of course, Larry had Jim Kiick and Mercury Morris while Floyd had nobody till Otis Armstrong came later in his career.

  • I didn't realize Little played long enough to play with Otis Anderson. I'm guessing it was in Otis's days with the Cards???

  • No. Otis Armstrong from Purdue University who played for Denver from 1973-1980.

  • @Ariamaluum Floyd did good all by Himself,He was all AFL in 1969 and went to the NFC-AFC Pro Bowi in 1970-1971.

  • @volswaff My first year at UT was fall 66,,,Missed this one but wow what a game. Imagine beating anybody who had Csonka and LIttle?

    DEEEEEEEE FENSE !

Tom Loughlin Jr- UT 1966-69 Syracuse 69-72 (yeah...conflicted on this.)

  • No he wasn't.

  • @HaywoodZarathustra. Floyd didn't have Jim Kiick or Mercury Morris. When those guys were gone, just another bruiser. Floyd is in the Hall.

  • @Ariamaluum Are u kidding me...

  • @gern2000. Just take a look when he was with the Giants in 1978.

  • @Ariamaluum Well, did you ever read Jack Tatum's books? He says he never got the better of Larry Csonka, who used to routinely punish him. Regarding Floyd Little, he says he used to beat Floyd to a pulp, LOL. Paraphrasing, "I'd hit poor Floyd and his eyeballs would roll back into his head. Floyd would wake up on the sideline with train whistles blowing in his ears."

  • @HaywoodZarathustra. Herman Edwards. Larry was 6'3 while Jack was barely 5'10 and that is not including the offensive line of the Dolphins like Bob Kuechenberg, Jim Langer, and others who kept him in line.

  • @Ariamaluum that means nothing jack tatum always hit guys bigger then him what are you even saying? daryl stingley was alot bigger then him look what he did to him , larry csonka was a animal

  • @panthers7775. Darryl was only 6 feet and 185 Ibs compared to Larry Csonka who was 6'3 235 Ilbs. But Jack did hit Earl Campbell. Maybe, he had a white guy complex. Who knows?

  • @Ariamaluum or that TE the lions or rams had who was like 6'4 240 and he lit into him like theres no tomorrow

  • @panthers7775. That was Dick Butkus laying on Charlie Sanders for the Lions. But he did hit Riley Odoms and nailed Rocky Bleier with a forearm which he was fined 750 dollars due to the fact that Howard Cosell went crazy on that one during his MNF telecasts and called for his punishment. Maybe, he could go against big guys but not against Howard and his lawyer skills.

  • @Ariamaluum i was wrong it was riley odoms now thats a nice hit he put on him.

  • Tenn dominated. The final score was deceptive.

  • our 1966 offense looked more modern than our 2008 offense....sad.

  • There is nothing quite like the "2008 offense." That was one offensive offense. :)
