  • i rlly wish i could sing Lol but im bare out of tune when i try to do ANY note that is higher than my normal voice(which is quite low)

its annoying cause u see it on tv and thing oh yh thz EASY

then wen i tried it came out funny :(

  • I KNOW, I would love to have an amazing voice! but it comes out LALALAfufufhaha

  • ye lmao i still cnt get the hang of singing :s

  • How the hell do you extend a note for ages without running out of breath? People say that's because you're singing with your throat. How do you not sing with your throat??

  • sing frm th base of ur lungs ......it makes it waaaaaaaaaaay easier 2 sustain a note.....the throat is jus whr it comes out ;)

  • how do u sing from the base of ur lungs????

  • @SSLostSoulSS Actually, you're probably just breathing in your chest, rather than in your stomach. Breath so that your stomach inflates instead of your chest. Take a deep breath, then hold a note. I don't understand the whole "singing with your throat" verses singing with-- what? Your diaphragm? I don't remember ever singing with my throat, unless I still am and don't know it! Oh, no!

  • rate this comment +1 if you went heeeeeeeaaaaard after watching this or during it

  • how I wish he could be my singing coach!

  • thnx. this helps alot. i can pronounce my consanents but i have trouble with going a little too loud. so i try to calm my voice so i dont destroy it. but thnx again

  • I think you make a very good point in this video for aspiring singers and some popular singers. There are some singers out there who do not understand singing diction which makes it hard for the listener to distinguish between the consonants. Sometimes it's even impossible to hear the consonants. And that's very annoying. So thank you!

  • wow, thank you captain obvious!!!

  • i think he said "S"

  • theres no good information in this lol

    but thank you anyway ^_^'

  • I think there was a little bit of good info for some people.

Even I find some of his vids helpful even though the things he teaches I pretty much know already.

  • thanks-i need to strengthen my sound.

  • HE ACTUALLY DIDNT SAY ASS..HE SAID aaa SOUND.TALK WHAT THE HELL U KNOW.

  • 0.35, he said ass. funny.

  • Are you 5?

  • GOOD JOB!!!

  • I can't even focus of consonants, its weird. Im with jedeyegypsy with the vowel thing.

  • up then feel that energy releasing into the following "a". the example("ammmazing") is random here, to explain the approach: the best performance is achieved by shaping the emotionally important notes(and words) of the phrase through the friction of their consonants.

  • I disagree - I am a vocal coach and I emphasize focusing on the vowels. Try this: sing "Amazing Grace" and focus on the consonants. Then do it again focusing on the vowels - which sounds better?

  • He means that people who ONLY focus on the vowel tend to sound muffled. He means that you have to eunciate the consants for clearity. He's not talking about sustaining consonants. Just making your singing sound clearer.

  • Dear jedeyegypsy,

please listen to the greats of all genres(Callas, Elvis, Jacques Brel - Pavarotti's "che gelida manina" with karajan is a perfect example for what i want to point out) you will find that great vowels are framed by even greater consonants - they have the friction in language, they create the sticky surface of a memorable performance.

hold "m" in amazing grace a quarter of a second longer than you would and feel energy building
