its just a joke-- people take the piss out of English accents all the time. you shouldn't take yourself so seriously, the guys singing it obviously don't. I speak Gaelic and have no problem with it-- its funny. Try to see the fun in things rather than searching for problems with it. it was created to amuse.
Ny gaelic class was told to find a youtube video tht was gaelic i showed this everyone thot it was hilarious i got sent out of class and detention but it was well worth it to c the look on my gaelic teachers face :L thanks
@5by5wisher Ní nach bhfuil sé do locht nach féidir le do mhúinteoir ghlacadh roinnt greann, áfach, go raibh sé ina rang ghaelach agus amhrán seo go díreach gaelach
@robsargent4 its not joke, its not funny, its fucking stupid bullshit, and noone would be able to make fun of chinese by saying "ching chang chong", so why is this allowed? Its racist bullshit.
@Pawnbroker00 Gaels are not a race, so it's definitely not racist. You could call it xenophobic if you really want to, but seeing as it's definitely possible to find this funny & respect Gaelic culture (you are conversing with someone who fits that description) I'd call it poking fun at people who us English-speakers actually have lot in common with, in a light-hearted, not particularly nasty way. If I'm not mistaken, the person performing this is called Howie MacDonals - I don't know about you,
@Pawnbroker00 but I think his surname sounds a wee bit Gaelic. Just calm it, Janet. If people made a joke about the way people speak where I come from in such a light-hearted, inoffensive way as this, I'd probably find it funny! Oops, I meant to type Howie MacDonald, not MacDonals.
Thanks for posting this historically important classic Cape Breton milling song ("Dh'un Dh'ai 'S Nhàinta").
It is amazing that this song was nearly lost from the gaelic music tradition. More amazing that it doesn't appear amongst other classic milling songs from that era.
As I always say: "Tha mo bhàta-foluaimein loma-làn easgannan."
Haha! Gu math eibhinn!

@tonytracy Question -is your boat full of fish or eels? Anyway, you need a good song to keep the mill wheels turning and I reckon this fits the bill.
