  • sorry if I offend you, it reminded me of south park, an episode and I thought tourettes was made up until my gp only realised I had it -_-

  • Why does your "tourettes" not come through when you respond to comments on here?

  • @browncarp

because it doesnt show in writing

  • im sorry, u look like a nice girl and i hope that doesnt cause u too many problems, has they already suggested you, try to smoke weed, i know its not legal cause u sound british to me rather than american but still, do it anyway, i think it could help u! wish u all the best!

  • Have you ever tried medical marijuana? My son also has tourettes.Contact me at haro1981@live.com

  • Holy shit i got scared at 1:00

  • Interesting.

  • you are pretty and looklike a good person i wish someone can help you

  • 0:58 caught me off guard

  • Your Very strong

  • Awww...I heart you. :) What a load of crap you gotta deal with, but you keep your spirits up. More power to you!!!

  • i fucking jumps off the chair when she swear !

  • Hi Melissa, I love your videos, you help us so much. You're so brave. I would like to know if you ever swear in French? If I remember your other videos right, that's your first language? I just found your series of videos in French. I don't know what you're saying but I like watching because it's such a pretty language. Anyway, thanks again for being so brave and helping us. Coping with life is hard, but watching you really helps.

  • i have the same problem but only when i'm sleepy, i cuss uncontrollably

  • I'm pretty sure she's old enough to say what she wants whenever anyways... So it doesn't really matter. Why would she fake this just for a silly thing? Immature fuck.

    ( to: Mr69uptheass)

  • Stay strong

  • bitch needs some chapstick

  • I think your pretty strong for making a video. Thanks for sharing what its like.

  • Fake

  • @Mr69Buttcheeks

And how would you know that?

  • @idranktheseawater I can just tell.

  • @Mr69Buttcheeks

I guess that makes you smarter than my neurologist....

  • @idranktheseawater I've seen it all on South Park. You're faking it so you can say whatever you want, whenever.

  • @Mr69Buttcheeks Are you trolling or just stupid.

  • @Mr69Buttcheeks Hahahaha what a loser.. he gets his educational information from South Park! lmao!

  • @Mr69Buttcheeks Asshole. How the fuck do you know that??? Stupid shit.

  • @idranktheseawater OMG OMG, hey you remind me of south park. PISS ,, PISS in my ASS

  • My god that scared me when you sweared, I lowered the volume thinking it wouldn't be as loud, nevermind to that idea.

  • My god that scared me, I HAD EARPHONES.

  • I'm not trying to be rude or mean anything hurtful in anyway but when you said "Fuck, fuck, fuck!" that scared the fuck out of me.

  • i think i have a thing for chicks with tourettes.

  • your body has automatic rape protection "NO STOP! NO STOP! NO STOP! FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" rapist wouldn't know what the fuck to do

  • The best part of this video is when you got pissed at your sister for laughing at you.... because it demonstrated how this was no big deal (and a little funny) this was in your household. Please don't be ashamed or sorry when you have a tic in public. For 99% of the public we know what's going on and feel embarrassed for you. The next time you get a dirty look at walmart, take a moment and look around. I bet someone else will be looking at you with a smile and a sense of compassion.

  • When you tic, and say some kind of cuss word, does your mind also feel as angry as the word you are saying? Or do you only feel your muscles moving? I only ask because tourette's has got to be one of the weirdest things I have ever seen; I still can't make sense of it (I can't understand what a tic feels like). From simply observing, it seems as though it is just like a nervous eye twitch where you can feel the muscles moving but have no control over them moving. Is that what it feels like?

  • @flybyproxy

I dont feel angry at all. It just happens.

Yes, like an eye twitch. It's been related to hick-ups or a sneeze as well.

  • @flybyproxy I'll explain this one. Tourette's is a very weird disorder indeed. Most people do not understand it and a lot of people have trouble believing it's even real just because they themselves can't grasp it. The curse words are simply a very STRONG urge. The person does not even want to say them. I'll give you the best example of what it's like to have tourettes and feel it. Try not to blink for 5 minutes. How uncomfortable would that get. You would eventually blink.

  • @flybyproxy You would eventually blink not because someone is making you but because you feel like you HAVE to. That is how having these tics is. Why curse words?? Well, usually whatever word or noise that will draw the most negative attention is the word that gets flagged in the brain as "risky" therefore creating a HUGE urge to say. Remember, it's nothing more than a gigantic urge. When they release (yell the word), it relieves that urge buildup. Remember, it's like trying not to blink

  • @flybyproxy I have tourettes but not the swearing kind (Corprolalia) I have the urge to move and twitch... make small noises etc.. it's all got the same basis to it though. I completely understand what "idranktheseawater" goes through on a daily basis. It's very exhausting to not be able to control the urges you have to yell or twitch. But just to clarify.. this disorder is NOT involuntary like how a muscle spasm is involuntary. It's completey voluntary just like blinking your eyes

  • hehe you scared the life out of me! You were talking calmly then all of a sudden the volume when straight up! Must suck to have torrettes but at least you have understanding family and friends around. :-)

  • fuck

  • I feel bad for you. :/

  • FUCK!BITCH!

  • OMG hahaha so awkward right now i couldnt hear what she said so i turned it up and she yelled and everyone in my house is sleeping

  • jeus christ! i jumped out my chair when you first said fuck! hahah

  • I feel bad when people with tourettes apologise and look so guilty about swearing. You shouldn't have to apologise at all. You can't help it and there is something a bit funny about people shouting out the worst possible things. It's a shame people can't appreciate the lighter side of it

  • So, say someone with tourettes is raised in a remote area of the countryside, only with family. The family never curses, there is no tv or media outlet to hear swears from. Would they still curse or say normal words?

  • @imelroy

They would likely just say insulting, negative things in words that they know.

    I think.

  • If this is of any comfort to you, there is some degree of control u can take. You may not be able to control when "bad" words come out but u can re-define what a bad word is. There are people with tourette's everywhere but the ones who werent exposed to swear words dont use them during a tic. I dont think you should worry about saying the N-word if you never said it before the coprolalia started. Also, try to consciously substitute the "F" word with another word that you use alot.(Hopethishelps)

  • thanks for the info> :) really i didnt know this

  • FUCK FUCK FUCK!!! ...BITCH!!!!......... FUCK!

I'm sorry, someone had to.. Keep going in strong, girlfriend!!

    :DD <33

  • OH BOB SAGET!!!

  • OH BOB SAGET!!!

  • OH BOB SAGET!!!

  • I jumped when you started cursing, sorry!

  • You are a strong woman to come forward. Don't listen to those who choose to be ignorant and understand what it is that you are going through.

  • This isn't laughing at you in any sort, I just saw some of the other commenters being assholes. I just thought this could be a good answer as to why one person might have a tick, from repression, or whatever. He is a comedian, but you know. Have to find humor in dark places

  • 1:00 Holy shit o.o

  • I can't imagine having corpolalia. It must be incredibly difficult. To everyone who's saying that Tourettes is "fake": screw you.

  • People talk. If they didn't, they would be mute. Then, they would be envious of your ticks. I don't really have a point, but, it's just something to think about. =/

You're beautiful though. Even those that can talk are envious of that.

  • @ZeroPermission

    That's funny lol

    Thanks

  • yes it is attractive... o_o

  • i have to ask...have you explored music therapy? music and especially communicating through music mediums *singing included* uses a centre of the brain not associative with speech (go figure) but i haven't personally seen this therapy used on ts, but have read is effective in many cases. our case studies surrounded those who through brain trauma cannot speak but can sing like angels.

  • Oh god, it was so sad at the end when had that attack. I was frowning and then you just look up and smile... You're amazing

  • I guess, I just don't really understand how you are FORCED to swear. I somehow doubt that someone could have so much control over the rest of their body, but cannot control what words they say...

  • @TehSmellulare

Its some kind of malfunction in the brain. Basil ganglia.

Not sure I understand it much myself.

  • @TehSmellulare the very short short version is to explain it as an analogy. centres of the brain generate electrical impulses. these impulses are just that, uncontrollable but in the attempt to control them cause the physiological reactions to become more intense. the analogy is the speech centre is like your muscular system...when you get spasms, *tics are inclusive* just have to let it pass. holding back is actually very painful.

  • @TehSmellulare think about this, why would every single person with tourettes swear........IF THEY COULD HELP IT

  • @TehSmellulare It's involuntary. There's something in the brain that allows people to filter what they say before they say them.

  • @TehSmellulare I guess, I just don't really understand how retarded you are. I somehow doubt that someone could have so much control over their body, but cannot control the intelligence of their own brain...

  • 1:00 you gave me a fright lol

  • YOUR VERY PRETTY NO ONE MADE OUT OF GOLD

  • To all the idiots who think shes trying to do this, you will have a child like this at some point. You'll learn that it can't be helped.

  • She may have Tourettes', but she has killer beautiful blue eyes

  • You're a cute woman. Don't think about the other ppl. When someone loves you he don't care about your "illness". Hope, you'll have some better days in the nearest future.

And to the ppl. who're talking about "its fake". You should be happy that you're born healthy and don't have a neurological disease or smth. else!

  • WHERE'D THE ASSHOLES WHO BUILT THIS PLACE PUT THE BATHROOMS?

  • Having tourettes is just an excuse for people to cuss. Anyone can stop themselves from cussing. Just say other stuff. I dont get why people with tourettes hav to say those words when there are hundreds of other words to say

  • @L4ZySKATE

Its not an excuse to cuss. I dont want to cuss. Its highly embarrassing. But that is what the syndrome is. Its coproplalia. Look it up.

There is also echolalia where we repeat random words.

Thats a naive thing for you to say. Its like saying that someone with diabetes doesnt need insoline because nobody else needs it.

  • @idranktheseawater How come you only swore for a bit of the video?

  • @tuscantan4

because it doesnt happen every moment of the day. It comes and goes.

  • @idranktheseawater ohhh ok FUCK, that makes NO FUCKING SENSE SLUT. Omg sorry. FUCK YOUR UGLY FACE. ohh sorry. Ok yeah as you can see i have tourettes too FUCK FUCK. and my one goes for nearly every moment of the day YOU FUCKING LIAR. Omg sorry. It just comes out i'm sure you will understand YOU FUCKING LYING BITCH FUCK FUCK.

  • @tuscantan4

Not every case is like yours.

You arent helping yourself by behaving like that.

I'm not faking, and I think many with tourettes will tell you that they dont have it all the time either.

If you do research on tourettes you will see they describe the symptoms as something that waxes and wanes.

The way I experience my tourettes is simply different than yours.

I dont know why you have such anger, but Im not the one you should be angry with.

  • @idranktheseawater Sorry sorry i just can't help it FUCKING BITCH SLUT . Sorry, really, i just swear and stuff like you YEAH LIKE YOU YOU DIRTY SLUT. Sorry, i know how hard touretes is. You should look at my channel, FUCKING CUNT. and subscribe after all we both have Tourettes, YOU STUPID DUMB BLONDE

  • @L4ZySKATE i have tourettes but i do not cuss but if people have the cussing tick, they cuss because they know its bad so there body tells them to say it.

  • @L4ZySKATE you are ignorant & stupid.

  • @L4ZySKATE how ignorant are you dude?? lame ass

  • @L4ZySKATE you just said it, you dont get it! ... its not her fault or her choice,.. i live with a friend who has tourettes and everybody in my building wants me to kick him out of my house, because he yells a lot and says whore a lot, and he cries himself to sleep cuz he knows people doesnt want him near, well i want him near me, the day that you have to go through something like this girl is going through, or even to experience something like im , maybe that day yo get to comment about it,

  • @drivenapo

    You have moving words

    thank you

  • @L4ZySKATE wtf are you retarded

  • @L4ZySKATE Oh sorry, I didn't realise you had a medical degree.

Oh wait, you don't, so don't claim you know more about Tourettes than an actual sufferer of it.

  • @L4ZySKATE Um, b/c ur dumb?

  • @L4ZySKATE LOL you are NAIVE. It's sad. If you weren't taught or exposed to these words, you wouldn't say them, but if you are, you do. Tourette's is accessing memory, here. Please don't comment unless you have a proper education or a background in neuroscience.

  • @L4ZySKATE I agree with you.... I honestly thing it's made-up so attention-whoring teens can have an excuse for swearing.

  • THUMBS UP, IF SHE SACRED THESHIT OUT OF YOU WHEN SHE "FUCK, FUCKED" D:

  • WERE DO THESE YOUTH LEARN THE WORDS

    FROM

  • I admire your courage. Is tourettes exacerbated by anxiety about offending people? If so, perhaps if you didn't worry so much about it your symptoms maybe would clear. Just a naive thought.

  • Scared the shit out of me when you started swearing.

  • You're a trooper. Keep it up girl.

  • I would love to be your best friend, I need a person like you to hang out with... Not kidding...

  • i wonder what having sex with a girl with tourettes would be like...

  • @kallegroen i wouldn't wanna know

  • R.I.P. headphone users

  • I don't find you any less attractive. ^-^

  • Please respond: If I might ask, why is it always swear words that people with tourretes yell out? Why not words like "APPLE, BANANA BANANA" not trying to be rude, Im just curious.

  • @Mrleafsfan93

    We do that too

With echolalia we rereat random words that people say or that we say.

  • @idranktheseawater i have undiagnosed tourettes, some kid made fun of me today, and he screamed: "DONUTS" in my ear, so i smacked him xD

  • @Mrleafsfan93 actually there are some tourettes saying non curse words such as newest internet meme MASHED POTATOES!!!! golf video

  • Jesus I had my volume up a little to loud there haha. And don't worry what people say about you they are just insercure

  • You have the most awesome accent !

  • hey, check out meditation, I dont have TS but it helps me relax and focus.

  • Aw Ur sweet, Don't worry about the tourettes just live your life.

  • I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!

  • I dunno, I can't help but laugh when people with tourettes just burst out like that. Not laughing AT them, it's just funny knowing that was the little crosswire that was going off in their brain at that moment.

Wouldn't bother me having a mate like that in the slightest.

  • Fucking scared me at 1:00

  • I think think this girl is really cute. She's attractive. Plus, she swears like a sailor, and my friends and I do it for humor all the time. She'd fit right in. I love it! 8-D

    I like your haircut here!

  • So how come she didn't start doing it until she mentioned it?

BIG BALLS IN MY BIG BALLS FUCK NIGGER STOP HOLY SHIT GOTINONELITTLEFIGHTMOMSCAREDBELAIRE.

  • @SageOwl

because often, talking about tics causes us to have them.

  • is it just me? or she looks like tessa? meekakitty is her youtube channel.

  • I'm sorry, but I found this a bit comical.

  • FUCK BITCH SLUT WHORE NO STOP PENIS BALLS ASS ASSBALLS

  • BITCH FUCK US FUCK

  • BITCH FUCK ME

  • you are hot

  • LMFAO This was the best shit ive seen all day. HA HA HA HA HA HA !!!!!!!!

  • I'm so sorry that there are rude and ignorant people out there telling you that you're faking tourettes. They are such dumbasses. You've gone through so much in your life and I'm sorry you have to face so much opposition. People just don't understand because they've never experienced it. I don't have tourettes, but I have OCD. Very different things I know, but a lot of people tell me to just stop and it's not something easily controlled. Hang in there and know that there are understanding people

  • Your videos have helped me understand. You're one of my favorite youtubers :)

  • I feel like such an asshole for bursting out laughing when the tic started, it was just so unexpected...

  • That sucks..

  • Oh goodness. These negative comments just bring me such sadness! Keep your head up darling, stars guide you. xx

  • Bless your heart. Don't listen to these jerks that say it's fake or "learned behaviour." I hope you have better days.

  • ok i have tourettes and i just wanna know when you get a cold and its like a runny nose and the snorting that you all ready do and then you have the cold and you do that does anyone else hate that?

  • The best way to SUPPORT this video is to not give any attention to bad comments, which includes not replying to them. They will simply FADE away! You have done an excellent job documenting your life (not everyone does what you have done). THANK YOU!!!

    In simple terms:

Tourette’s - neurological disorder, dysfunctional regulation of some pathways that either excite and inhibit movement and behavioral patterns.

  • oh my gawd ur adorable 0.0

    <3

omfg ur so effing adoarble but yeah i have a form of tourettes as well but it making hummimg or meep sound random and i have this thing with my finger that do

  • oh my gawd ur adorable 0.0

    <3

  • your beautiful, with tourettes or without, dont pay attention to the hate.

  • I'm getting really sick of seeing the negative comments on Melissa's tourettes videos... If you wanted attention, there are many other ways to do it that would be more successful than this...

It's B.S. to say it's a scam when she clearly has a medical condition >:( Jerks.

  • Don't worry! You'll be okay! :)

  • you have really pretty eyes :)

  • That first tic Scared the Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, out of me.

  • ''piss out my ass''

  • hahaha at least it seems like you're good at being a good sport about it. like in the video, when you heard your sister laughing. you had a very good reaction, in fact i thought it was funny how you reacted

  • Super fake. You're using lame excuses to swear as you please, you pathetic attention whore.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan

And how would you know that its fake?

Are you an expert in tourettes?

Having people tell me that I am not going through what I am going through is pissing me off.

Its not your place to judge. I shared something important to me and you pissed on it.

  • @idranktheseawater

I am an expert on the area and have treated many children and teenagers with this condition, and let me tell you: this disease is a scam. They were all cases of learned behavior. It took only a few weeks of therapy to cure most of them, and the rest was cured within months. Bad habits are easily fixed, it's just a matter of practice and patience.

It's sad how the media has brainwashed so many people and made them believe this is a real disease.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan

Its not a desease, its a syndrome

How did you cure them? As I understand it, there is no cure.

  • @idranktheseawater

They're cured the same way as alcoholics and drug-addicts. Rehab.

That said, everyone thinks of tourettes as a disease. But it is indeed a syndrome - a psychological condition - which can always be fixed. A disease is biological. If you knew it was not a disease you should at least have known this too.

The fastest way to cure a patient is electroshock therapy. Give 'em a shock whenever they blurt out profanities. Always cures them within one day.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan I'm sorry NaughtySpaceMan, but you are wrong. Tourette's is a disorder of the brain and can be diagnosed using among others imaging techniques like MRI. It is a developmental disorder involving the basal ganglia, which, by the way, is also where pathologic processes leading to both Huntington's chorea and Parkinson's disease are located. Because of brain plasticity people can grow out of their Tourette's, but don't let this fool you into believing it's not an organic disease.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan

No one who is realy an expert on a physiological/psychological base would say something so generalizing relating to a medical field like the Tourette-syndrome. Especially after watching nothing more than a video. To tell someone his/hers tics are "learned behaviour" or just "bad habits" let the words fail me. Its not about some bad words, Tourette is way more complicated. And you should know, as you're an expert.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan

Someone who treats children with conditions and uses the words whore and retard losely, believes in the freewordcharter and is afraid of homosexuals.

    You made my day.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan "Bad habits are easily fixed" That just goes to show that you are not involved, in the slightest, WITH ANY HUMAN BEHAVIOR! If you're so proactive why don't you hop your healthy ass on a plane and go to this person who is clearly suffering of something you claim to know how to 'fix'. People who think they can 'fix' unrealistic things usually have a more serious mental health problem that follows them to their grave, being they are so DELUDED they think they can 'fix' people!

  • @NaughtySpaceMan I hate you. i would just like to get that out of the way.

Firstly, you lie. you have no idea what you are talking about.

secondly, you do not have tourettes and have no idea what its like to have the disorder.

    thirdly, you are incredibly inconsiderate.

lastly, you of all people are the kind of people who plague this earth.

  • @idranktheseawater hm...

i dont know much about tourrettes but maybe speaking your mind more might reduce the ticks

also if you feel one coming maybe try relaxing and banishing the feeling

again i dont know much but i hope that helps

  • @idranktheseawater

Don't bother, this guy probably heard about Tourette only by south park.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan Trololololololololololololo... Troll.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan How could you think this is fake? It's obvious it isn't and it's obvious that Mellisa doesn't want to cuss, so that makes NO ONE here an attention whore....except maybe you, but that's against the point. Just because you think you are an "expert" doesn't mean you are. You have no right to jump on people pretending you are about something you clearly don't know much about. It's sad how the media has brainwashed people into thinking they fucking know it all. grrr.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan Well you don't have to be a dick about it. Melissa isn't looking for attention or sympathy, she's letting us into her life and letting us know how she is and whats going on. Calling her an attention whore is going way to far. What i've learned about tourettes i've learned from her. If you don't like it, don't watch it. There are people on here, my self included, who care about her and are interested in this disease or disorder and whatever you classify it as.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan Not fake, However it is a bit over dramatic, Mainly because if you really were having tics at that moment, You most likely wouldn't have noticed it.

  • @TheCreativeUnited

How could I not have noticed it? When the tics are that severe its impossible not to notice it.

  • @NaughtySpaceMan so how the hell would you know its fake? your not her, you are not related to her and as @idranktheseawater said its not your place to judge. its a syndrome you can not cure someone from it. she is not pathetic nor a attention whore. grow the hell up and get a reality check. good day XD

  • @NaughtySpaceMan okay watch all of her 147 videos and then you can judge her

  • i feel like swearing when I am at walmart also

  • I feel really guilty saying this, but I'm a little scared to watch after reading the comments, could someone please tell me when she starts swearing... I'm really sorry

  • that first fuck scared the shit out of me, shes like talking all softly: "it was weird i started swearing...FUCK FUCK BITCH

  • Am I the only one that found this video strangely arousing? Yeah, probably...

  • i feel bad for this girl. having tourrettes must be awful.

  • this was very moving n Your EYES ARE BEAUTIFULLL!!!

  • That was moving. Stay strong dude.

  • ur beautiful

  • Good luck through your struggles

  • DONT WATCH THIS VIDEO IF YOU HAVE HEADPHONES ON.... YOU WILL GET SO FUCKING SCARED!

  • I had on headphones and the first FUCK made me shat myself

  • Bless you
