I highly doubt Martinez-Williams III. If their second fight had been similar to their first fight, then a rubber match would have been viable. As it stands, Martinez would have nothing to gain from fighting Williams for the third time.
i agree with robbery on this fight and lennox vs. holyfield but the marquez vs. pacquiao fights were judged accordingly. they were close but marquez shoulda knocked pacquiao down instead of hitting the canvas himself for a split-decision victory.

A freak of nature. Antonio Tarver and Glen Johnson too. They've whipped guys who are more than a decade younger than them. The reason why I'm saying that Sergio Martinez is one of those guys is that he is the type of fighter who I think will still be fighting at the age of 40 or so, and one of the reasons for that is that his first boxing match ever was at the age of 22. Thus, he isn't worn out that much.
My bad. Pacquiao used to fight fighters who were in their prime. As of recently, he has fought a 40-year old Mosley, a battered Margarito, and he will fight a 37-year old JMM, which is absurd. He should have made the rubber match years ago. Right now, Pacquiao will most likely beat Marquez. Marquez might make it competitive, but Pacquiao will probably win in the late rounds. Which is why I'm going to pay for Mayweather-Ortiz. More competitive, and better undercards.
My bad. I didn't realize that Mayweather would stoop that low to one-up his opponent. As you can tell, I really don't like Mayweather that much. I respect his skills, nothing more. I do think though that if Mayweather didn't sucker punch Ortiz, the fight would have been more competitive going into the late rounds. But, that's just my opinion.

@merksperk2 I don't know what fight you guys were watching but Mayweather had completely outclassed Ortiz up until that point. Ortiz didn't lay a glove on him in any of those flurries. Which is why he headbutted Mayweather out of frustration. Mayweather just exchanged dirty tactics. Ortiz should have puth his hands up after the first left hook. I have no idea why he was looking at the ref. Floyd would have gotten better as the fight went on and cruised to a UD or a late round KO.

Floyd was in another class, just like all of his fights. If he fights Manny I still think Floyd will win. He's the bigger man, and Manny's weakness is counter punchers (see Manny vs Marquez). The straight right and the lead left hook will be there all night for Floyd. Easy UD.

Plus Armstrong has over 150 fights contested. Mayweather & Pacquiao's achievements don't seem as impressive.

At this level of the game, it is not about fear/ducking. there are many layers to fight negotiation. Mayweather and Paquiao(roach) have BOTH avoided each other and are both responsible for playing games with the media. and smartly so. Williams and Martinez are probably the two best fighters in the world, currently. They have not had the luxury of superstardome, and thus, have not been able to carefully select a list of opponents that are taylored to their styles.

The only reason Martinez went to 160 is because the fights weren't coming off at 154, and he was offered Kelly Pavlik.
You're correct in saying the Marquez fight no longer makes sense, Martinez is the only fight that make sense imo.

My bad. Pacquiao used to fight fighters who were in their prime. As of recently, he has fought a 40-year old Mosley, a battered Margarito, and he will fight a 37-year old JMM, which is absurd. He should have made the rubber match years ago. Right now, Pacquiao will most likely beat Marquez. Marquez might make it competitive, but Pacquiao will probably win in the late rounds. Which is why I'm going to pay for Mayweather-Ortiz. More competitive, and better undercards.

Which is why he headbutted Mayweather out of frustration. Mayweather just exchanged dirty tactics. Ortiz should have puth his hands up after the first left hook. I have no idea why he was looking at the ref. Floyd would have gotten better as the fight went on and cruised to a UD or a late round KO.

He won't surpass the achievements of Henry Armstrong a 3 weight division World Champion, when there was 1 recognised world title in each division, and only 8 divisions. Plus Armstrong has over 150 fights contested. Mayweather & Pacquiao's achievements don't seem as impressive.

At this level of the game, it is not about fear/ducking. there are many layers to fight negotiation. Mayweather and Paquiao(roach) have BOTH avoided each other and are both responsible for playing games with the media. and smartly so. Williams and Martinez are probably the two best fighters in the world, currently. They have not had the luxury of superstardome, and thus, have not been able to carefully select a list of opponents that are taylored to their styles.

Guys, there isn't going to be a match up with Pacquiao vs. Martinez because Pacquiuao is a light welterweight at best and martinez is a middleweight. Martinez isn't too big for pacquiao if he could make welterweight or light welterweight.
