just checked this vid out as per your other video with amanda voting on which vetiver fragrance she liked most... to me, tonka is a pleasant earthy vanilla that is round on the edges, if that makes sense. but the smell of the tonka bean might also be dependent on what type/geographic location the tonka that the essential oils are being extracted from. do you know why people dont seem to like this? is it because its less of a mainstream smell, or because it's more of an earthy smell?
@ratiocinativeness Thanks for your input! I really need to review this frag again. This was early on in my vetiver journey and I have some more things to say about this one now that I'm better versed with vetivers.
Finally wore this one,12+ hours projection stopped 6 hours and became a skin scent, I cant help but to continuously sniff myself, the guys compliment how good i smell while the females just smile =) fragrance going in my top 10.
@warriordiscus7 I need to review this again and do it some justice now that I'm more experienced with vetiver and just more experienced all around. Still my favorite!
Its kinda funny that Amanda doesn't like your favorite one. But, that seems to be the way it works sometimes. Kinda sucks too though, I know. ..But, still funny.
I have all the bottles from Hermessence. Veiver Tonka and Ambre Narguile are on top of my list, Vanille Galante and Paprika Brasil are on the bottom of the list.
Pantera fucking rules...great music choice. Tim "Sweatballs" is a pansy that plays shit for his background music during his reviews, it would most definitely get his ass kicked at my hardcore gym. Joe DeFranco best fucking trainer in New Jersey.
Big fucking props on the music...Pantera Forever! That metro-sexual Tim plays some of the gayest music ever, and I've told him so. He needs to man-up. And his little bodybuilding bullshit is just simply "pussified". He needs to get a real trainer like Joe DeFranco out here in New Jersey. Props again for the music.
I watched this review again, just to see, I think be careful when / if you purchase this. there might be a discrepancy between samples or something. I feel like sending you my sample of VT, just to see if you feel the same way or not.
I really liked this fragrance when I tried it. I thought it smelled really earthy and sweet. If I was a big collector I would definitely buy a bottle. Good review man.
My Dad has photos of Black Sabbath doing one of their first ever gigs about 40yrs ago over here in Carlisle in the north of England where i live, Ozzy used to live in Carlisle for a while before the fame took him away.
@MyMickers Yeah he was a fan back in the day, hes 60 now though and doesnt play music much anymore, not sure why lol. i will try and scan the photos and upload them if he will let me borrow them.
This was my favorite of the Hermessence Line. I thought it was the only one I would pay the hefty price tag. It's also my favorite vetiver based fragrance. So soft and smooth. Great review Dan!
Wow! I'm surprised that no one liked this fragrance. I thought that it was a nicely made vetiver and more tolerable than most vetivers. Vetiver can smell very medicinal - to my nose at least - and it's a difficult ingredient to tame. VT did a nice of taming the root by tempering it with sweetness. Thanks for the review! Thumbs up!
