  • LETS GO DUEY ,LEGEND FARREAL

  • dat handshake

  • this man is a living saint..watching this during the espys inspired me to do what ever i dream of doing in my life...NEVER LET FEAR DETERMINE WHO YOU ARE, NEVER LET FEAR DETERMINE WERE YOURE GOING..i'll carry these words for the rest of my life and to this day when im scared or wanting to quit i think of those words and dewey's life and keep pushing even harder...

  • Fucking corrupt country

  • This is one of the most inspiring stories I have ever heard. I've seen this video so many times and the tears keep coming again and again. Dewey Bozella, God bless you!

  • Um, who did his hair though?

  • Standing O and he deserved it.

  • damn im grown ass 32 year old man and this brought tears to my eyes!!

  • @amzeedog there's nothing wrong with crying

  • Who could dislike this???

  • cant belive he got no compo! those bastards should get lockt up

  • Dewey Bozella #1

  • Dewey Bozella, God Bless you. You are an example to all of us!

  • hey friends, what he say about cus damato?

  • It pisses me off about the wrongfully accused who get ZERO compensation after years of wrongful imprisonment.Even the ones who do get chicken change compensation often just get minimum wage based on 52 weeks of every year they served at 40 hours a week and even then their attorneys get a cut as well as taxes taken out. It's inhumane to destroy a persons life then expect them to go out and start a career old and broke. These people should get a $ MILLION $ clear for EVERY YEAR served !!!

  • How come he has a wife? When did he get to know her, after he came out of jail?

  • Comment removed

  • I'm so happy for Dewey Bozella. Is it me or is Arthur Ashe reading the teleprompter? He kept on pausing every sentence.

  • This guy is the most inspiring man I ever heard about. It's amazing that he refused freedom to keep his faith. If all these so called celebrities sitting in the hall only to show off to each other their expensive cloths would donate just $1000 each to him he could fulfill his dream and open that gym.

They didn't. It shows how much they worth. This man worth more than the whole bunch of Hollywood celebrities.

  • @vacakpocok you are so true. This man spirits has been refined in jail for 26 years, inspiring man

  • @vacakpocok

    Did you send $1000?

  • if this man was white he would have got compensation for being jailed for 26 years of his life. and what did this fella get? $0.00 compensation. what a fucking joke.

  • this is the bravest man i've ever seen

  • this guy should run for president he's a great speaker and an amazing man!

  • @MrCOLTSR2 Agreed!

  • That's good people can find out about him and watch his speech. It's such inspirational man. Really big man.

There is that kiddo in 3:50 that none likes DAMN !

  • man i wanna meet this guy... what an inspriation !

  • @PHILLYHEAT215

Yeah I can tell. Worst speech I've ever heard.

  • @tuscaniman25 you're a tool

  • Dewey Bozella wins pro boxing debut since his prison time.

    Breaking news straight from ESPN.com

  • Don't know if he's innocent or not. I don't know what he has gone through and I'm sure it was horrible. But I do know that this speech was horrible and this guy's 3rd grade education doesn't inspire me or anyone I know.

  • @tuscaniman25 He's innocent, the man spent 30 years in prison for a crime he didn't commit. He was an amateur boxer that spent most of his life behind bars, he's not a professional motivational speaker you cunt.

  • @tuscaniman25 You hit on a good point as your third comment mirrors a third grade education. Your first two comments are more true "I dont know" and by the grace of God may you and anyone you do know never have to suffer the way this man has. 3rd grade educations and great speeches shouldn't define a man or women, but how they live or have lived their life is more a true measure of their greatness. 30 years in prison for a crime he didnt commit speak volumes more, than a 5 minute speech.

  • @tuscaniman25 I am willing to bet that the mans several degree's (one of which is a Master's degree) are a few more than you have. Also, when you get the chance to give a speech in front a few thousand celebrities - live - that is also broadcasted to millions of viewers, about a horrific injustice that imprisoned you for 32 years I won't critique your nervousness and emotion as you did this man.

  • Honor - Integrity – Courage; vital traits to be embraced by all. In the face of everything he’s been through he chose the path of righteousness to deal with it. This is a GREAT man.

  • How many innocent men have been released from prison early by pleading guilty and letting the state off the hook. Impressive human being.

  • Great role Model & inspiration, Never mad at the people that looked him up, Always had his composure even inside the pen.. Inspires me everyday to workout & live life at my fullest. Thanks Dewey

  • I will be watching the game tomorrow of a FREE DEWEY BOZELLA !

  • 3:50 LOL

  • @pinio108 i don't understand either

  • It was GREAT meeting you tonight at L.A.Live. You have been CHOSEN to do the WORKS OF THE LORD. Keep you Dreams ALIVE!!! and help OUR CHILDERN all over this WORLD. I WILL ALWAYS KEEP YOU IN MY PRAYERS. We may not understand now BUT by and by we will understand why

  • makes the west memphis 3 look like bitches

  • Broken system is broken.

  • Innocence is something not to take lightly, People please see that there's so many in prison innocently!!! God bless his life, heart and family and God bless the people the lawyers and people who fought on his behalf to see that day come!!! I shed tears man..... I know this mans pain :( i helped and tried and continue to try to help my friends behind them walls innocently accused for crimes they never committed.

  • THE JUDGE/JURY that wrongfully accused Dewey Bozella should have rightfully put Casey Anthony AWAY!!!!

  • they should give him 35mil $

  • i keep wondering what most of those celebrities in the room are thinking. i can't help but think they are yawning and thinking, you just some nigga that got out of jail, i am going to back to my yacht, lie half naked in the sun and have my servants paint my toe nails.

  • if i was one of these multi-multi-million dollar athletes.. and that's like one year of your salary.. buy out his fucking gym...make it a part of one of your tax right off charities for gods sake

  • This guy became a role model to me.. He is a hero to me

  • 0:20 thats real love right there lol

  • There should be a Dewey Bozella award for courage as well.

  • i started tearing/crying up when i saw this...

id love to meet this guy, gives me hope to not give up on my life i guess...

  • He deserves not only an award, he is owed 30 years of lost earnings if he was working with interest, then compensation for misconduct and abuse of power from the police authorities, that is his right! With that he will be able to have the Gym if he hasn't got it already. God bless Mr Bozella , his beautiful wife and lovely daughter !

  • isnt arthur ashe a tennis player back then.Anyway this is probably the most pridest stories ive ever seen.

  • this is good!!

  • 12222@ He is a great speaker too, speake good english well said mr. Bozella

  • good man right here because if it were we I know I wouldnt be as forgiving to those people that stole a man's life years he is never getting back and big up to Dewey wife for sticking by him, this is what true ride or die woman is not ridin out for some guilty ass criminal who cant stay outta trouble but, your man who in your gut knows for sure he's getting railroaded

  • Hes such a nice guy. I saw him today and told him I had no idea what he had gone through until I saw him on the ESPN awards, he put his finger over his mouth as if he doesnt want everyone to know that he won an award =) and then thanked me =)

  • @nise612 your so lucky, man I wish I could meet a man as inspirational as him.

  • "NEVER LET FEAR DETERMINE WHO YOU ARE, NEVER LET WHERE YOU COME FROM DETERMINE WHERE YOU ARE GOING" WELL SAID MR.DEWEY BOZELLA

  • Humans what a brutal species ! What a special species as we see through people like this man. If you have a soul any soul left; if life hasn't taken what you were born with do something good for some one else. It will restore what soul you've lost, and build a new you.

  • how will they give back all his years lost?

  • anyone who was involved in his case should be imprisoned and have their families killed, fucking disgusting. if you're involved in the justice system and you fuck up like that, no mercy for you at all, you should serve 100x what this guy had to, i guarantee it was some republican, christian fuck that was responsible for this too.

  • @Klank123 easy hitler

  • That was an amazing quote

  • Jack Bauer saves yet another innocent man

  • @abhi2791ify lol

  • Damn, I got a little misty eyed watching this and I rarely ever get moved by anything on tv much. But this guys stuggle was/is so real and the character he's dsiplayed in coming out of the other side an unchanged man is incredible. As a young man, I hope I can display the same humble, yet confident humility he has if/when all the chips are down.

  • veryproud that he made it to where he wanted to be so happy for him and his family

  • Hero. He's a great speaker too

  • does anyone know the song that they played when he walked up?

  • @jets495 Diddy- I'm Coming Home ft. Skyler Grey...same one played in the video

  • @billbixby007 i dont think it is

  • Dewey Bozella = definition of a real man. He gives me hope in human spirit. When you've fallen down the only thing you can do is get back up, after 32 years of struggling, perseverance, and faith he finally got back up. It makes me extremely happy to see that he is a free man. I really do hope he gets his gym.

  • @godofthisshit

his white lawyers gave him freedom. dewey is yet another black racist. terrible.

  • @duffy31311 HATER

  • @bradbodies

why am I a hater? I made the astute point that without his white lawyers, he would still be in jail. yet he (and others) choose to hate the white man for putting him in jail. if it wasnt for white people, the wrong would never have been corrected. black people didnt do shit to help him. yet he forgets who to thank.

  • @duffy31311 he thank whoeva he desires hater

  • @bradbodies

riiiiight. got it. thanks the blacks but forgets the whites. who got him out? oh yeah, the whites.

    makes sense.

  • They made a movie sorta like this, were the college kids help the prisoner out of jail i think denzel was it in or some black dude

  • @whoisjordyjoe

"The Hurricane" was the name of it.

  • i swear to god if he doesnt get a donation for his own gym that will be pathetic to the people that have the money to do so

  • Amen

  • Truly a testament to what the human sprit can endoure and overcome Dewy Bozella is a champion and if any knows where to donate to help his dream come alive please let me know

  • Absolute shame, what happened to this guy. People get massive amounts of jail time all the time; 15, 25, much less 35 yrs is nothing more than an inhumane way to kill a man. Nothing correctional about it, your mind is usually long gone. And it's overwhelmingly disgusting that this can happen so easily, carelessly and so often to innocent men. Some states don't even offer compensation when this happens.

It's the mark of a REAL MAN that he didn't take the bribe when they realized they f'd up.

  • incredible.... just incredible man and determination

  • Dewey Bozella is a role model for us all. His life's actions define what it means to be a man.

  • Unreal story. This guy isn't a hero like soldiers who fight for freedom. But he is a CHAMPION! a real champ.

  • @WushuDude13 actually he is a TRUE HERO for not taking the bribe to plead guilty and upholding his innocence. and while I salute the soldiers fighting in a war that may never end, I'd rather cheer for a hero who overcame a corrupt justice system in his own country and personal anger to better his life.

  • @WushuDude13

    He's a bigger Hero.

  • God bless this man!

    tmuzic63

  • He earned it.

  • not first.
