I'm in agreeance with most everything, but I'm confused about the battery rating. I always thought androids had poor battery life (at least the mid-level devices), while with the berries, even though the new devices aren't as good, the battery is still above average in talk time.
The 4s sucks , android is ok and for me BB is the best I do agree it sucks cuz of the screen and the apps but the battery and signal are the best trust me I've had all 3!
the Blackberry is crap with a tiny screen and who's wants button its old. Android just looks like a mess with the shit layout and cheap look build quality. iPhone big screen, easy to use and amazing build quality.
Excellent review, but, I disagree with you on value. You cant have the same build quality that u get on the iphone on that price. Android and BB are cheaper because their materials, technology and overall quality is good but not quite as good as the Apple products.
I personally like the Android and the iPhone but seriously.... We need a real phone device! That will go for bb. The phone was always used for calling and texting. The other are just fancy phones.

I think it was a very knowledgeable and well put together test. I don't understand all of these people denouncing one platform to the others. They all have their pros and cons. Plus competition between these giant corporations will only lead to better devices for us the consumers!

ive used android(nexus one) than iphone 4 than blackberry curve(8900) than the torch(9800) and now after all this im back at iphone. even when ive use blackberries the most but the blackberry has nothing at all other than bbm, so much lag and freezing but android and iphone beat it by far.
I like my BlackBerry curve 9360, except the battery life is terrible. Also, I wish the Facebook application was a lot more innovative. Being my first smart phone it's not bad. I need a keyboard though, touch screens just won't cut it.
Iphone is still the winner here though in its most default settings. Jailbreaking is not an hour away to do. And majority of ios users jailbreak their device coz it is easy and it is legal to do. So it should be included in iphone's feature nowadays. I think nowadays customization is not anymore an issue to ios.. Great scoring though!

I watched your couple of review videos and noticed that you're only using trackpad for Blackberry 9900. The main usage of trackpad is for improving the accuracy of your selection because bold offers smaller display but bold offers nice touch screen to navigate your menus and pinch browser. Just to point out that Bold is hybrid of touch and physical keyboard.
i think that ur score for applications is wrong, android should have gotten last place, like a majority of androids apps are 3rd party apps, don't work or freeze. i mean kno nothing about bb apps but everything with android just seems a little to "open"
for those with battery life problems, its called a battery app, on my HTC Desire HD i have up 1.5 days worth of battery with medium to heavy usage. I have my battery app as Juice Defender and i have it set to Aggressive battery control. Before i installed the app i was lucky to get 6 hours battery life. Also any MSN software will kill your 100% charged battery in less then 4 hours.
I disagree with the Reception test and blackberry getting it. My mums blackberry sound aweful and looses signal easily. Android is way better volume and quality. iPhone is smoother and faster than blackberry and android and the browser is compatible with the desktop version. I could go on forever but I don't want to give away the rest of the vid.
I used Blackberry before.. Now I'm using Android.. I have to admit I miss my Bold a lot.. For voice calls, messaging, networking you can't beat Blackberry.. Simplicity.. Buy Blackberry and if you want to play games buy a itouch ^_^ bb battery life just buy a extra one if it dies switch it out. You can't go that on a iphone. If you traveling also you can unlock the bb and slap on another sim card in there like me when I go philippines ^_^ saves lots on money.instead of roaming international. Bb you can text or write email with one hand. I love that feature ^_^ I can sip on my drink and reply to my email, text and chat the same time ^_^

I've used blackberry since the pearl and I've always been a fan, then I decided to use the iphones to see the hype...it wasn't that great...so, I sold my iphone 4s for this blackberry (and got an ipod touch 4th generation for fun apps but a third of the price of the iphone) and I could NOT be happier with this blackberry! It's the best both fast and functional and this keyboard is crazy amazing in comparison to other blackberry phones (and so much better than the iphone's touchscreen keyboard)
Middle school kids use android phones.. just by saying that means how much of a phone it is. It is a great phone, but honestly, the fight is between iPhone and BlackBerry. I've owned all those 3 devices and BlackBerry is by far my favorite hands down. BBM is the best..
Good review. Very fair. BlackBerry would win if not for battery life category. It has best phone clarity and highest security. I might mention that it is the only phone with a back that BBM uses. (it's own wireless relay). Odd that the BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) is little known but, when a BlackBerry is activated to a BES, it is a virtual remote control for Outlook, Lotus or Groupwise, (the corporate class email) I'm lovin my CrackBerry!

great review, i think simply put: if you want a phone with no boundries, get android
if you want a phone with the most apps to play with ur friends, get an iphone

this is an excellent review very fair and honest. The one point I would like to make is on the scoring system. I think you have to take each of those categories and rank which is most important to oneself. some may feel security/email are most important to others the camera. so although apple came out on top it does not make it the best phone for everyone, that is what people must realize; the best phone is the one that fits your needs as a consumer not what is "coolest" to have is.
Do agree with the reviewer, the only thing which is not true - battery life! BB is better than both iphone & all huge screen high end android devices. I am an iphone user for the time being but previously i owned 9900 and i can say in terms of battery bb was 100% better! Thanks for a great review anyway

This was a good video. However I find the BB browser to be quite good. This video was more useful than most because this guy managed to stick to an OS comparison rather than starting that way and ending by comparing the phones themselves. Seeing as you actually know what you are saying it would be cool if you made a similar video comparing tablets. One last
thing....when BB 10 Superphones come out a lot of this could change.
Email depends upon what you are using as a service. I keep hearing how great BlackBerry email is but with Gmail it sucks. Android is by far the best for Gmail when using the application. You have full searching, star flagging, and access to all your labels.

If so, be sure you check out every phone you think you might be interested in, and have the sales associate turn on those phones so you can get a feel for them. The Droid Razr is a great phone, but the Galaxy Nexus would definitely be worth a look too. That being said, there's nothing wrong with iPhone either if you just want something you can turn on and go with and aren't bothered by lack of customization.
iphones r #1 for entertainment, but whn it come business and actual phone performance u have to go with the blackberry. I just got the bold 9900 and i had the last 3 iPhone n i like the bold. And i wouldn't buy any Samsung phone from my experience maybe HTC. In everyone complains bout there battery life cause if u use ur phone for a smart phone not a laptop u will get better battery life thats y i got a bold 9900 and a itouch 4generation so i can facetime n still have great apps

just tested the galaxy s2 from my friend, the phone is big, i put it on my jeans pocket, my goodness, it was annoying! its so noticeable. thats w/o case. he bought holster with clip, so I tried and clip it on my belt. geez that thing looks so funny, its huge.!. I showed my bold 9930. and he said, damn this phone is sexy. so he immediately return the galaxy and replaced it with Blackberry. this was just my experienced, no disrespect.

I completely disagree with you on:
1. Android phones have a bigger screen causing it to be more pleasurable to view webpages. Flash lag is a simple solution lol, disable flash!
2. Androids is a gas guzzler with battery and so is iPhone, Blackberry should get that, especially with the new 7.1 update.
Overall Android should've got it. Though iPhone is ahead of the game and jailbreaking it just flies by android.

i agree with everything you said because i have owned both blackberry and iPhone i think androids are crap so never had one but from the things i've seen and reviews i've seen out there its spot on of what you said so the only thing i do disagree is the battery life i think its Blackberry iPhone and Android anyways good review!

great review, i think simply put: if you want a phone with no boundries, get android
if you want a phone with the most apps to play with ur friends, get an iphone
but if you want a phone that is focused on managing your life and being a great "communication device" which is what a phone is. blackberry is like old faithful and it why, even though i have a droid now, i'll probably get a berry as my next phone

@2182864 I would get a BB 9900 because it does quite a bit that the current generation smartphones do but still supports a physical keyboard. I get mine in a couple days. :)

this is an excellent review very fair and honest. The one point I would like to make is on the scoring system. I think you have to take each of those categories and rank which is most important to oneself. some may feel security/email are most important to others the camera. so although apple came out on top it does not make it the best phone for everyone, that is what people must realize; the best phone is the one that fits your needs as a consumer not what is "coolest" to have is.

A couple of things which the reviewer should have added is hardware quality and open source / closed source operating systems.
Realistically, Android is #1, iPhone is #2, and Blackberry is barely even considered a smartphone.
Blackberry's are just bad.

Do agree with the reviewer, the only thing which is not true - battery life! BB is better than both iphone & all huge screen high end android devices. I am an iphone user for the time being but previously i owned 9900 and i can say in terms of battery bb was 100% better! Thanks for a great review anyway

This was a good video. However I find the BB browser to be quite good. This video was more useful than most because this guy managed to stick to an OS comparison rather than starting that way and ending by comparing the phones themselves. Seeing as you actually know what you are saying it would be cool if you made a similar video comparing tablets. One last
thing....when BB 10 Superphones come out a lot of this could change.

Email depends upon what you are using as a service. I keep hearing how great BlackBerry email is but with Gmail it sucks. Android is by far the best for Gmail when using the application. You have full searching, star flagging, and access to all your labels.

I currently have a blackberry and I'm kind of getting tired of the way it scrolls and the typing because the buttons are so small and they come out. I don't really have to do business seeing as I am a high school student and was wondering if switching to a Droid would be better. Any suggestions?

If so, be sure you check out every phone you think you might be interested in, and have the sales associate turn on those phones so you can get a feel for them. The Droid Razr is a great phone, but the Galaxy Nexus would definitely be worth a look too. That being said, there's nothing wrong with iPhone either if you just want something you can turn on and go with and aren't bothered by lack of customization.

And i wouldn't buy any Samsung phone from my experience maybe HTC. just tested the galaxy s2 from my friend, the phone is big, i put it on my jeans pocket, my goodness, it was annoying! its so noticeable. thats w/o case. he bought holster with clip, so I tried and clip it on my belt. geez that thing looks so funny, its huge.!. I showed my bold 9930. and he said, damn this phone is sexy. so he immediately return the galaxy and replaced it with Blackberry. this was just my experienced, no disrespect.
