  • Happen Nippon Japan:) thx u Blondie@:D

  • What I've been loving about Blondie is that everything seems so easy. No TMj or tense forehead. I do not follow them anymore, but she is a Dame

  • Esa debe ser la actitud.

  • Debbie,will you marry me?

  • this is in no way rock. not even punk other than the fact that they started there (because it was the trend and when that ended they changed to the new trend new wave) very cool song though. cool band but not rock, more pop than anything.

  • @ahhhitsrob-I never bought into the whole rock/pop distinction. Early rock was pop, like the Beatles. It's when rock starts branchng off from pop, as with today, that it tends to wane and kids start looking elsewhere for music with a pulse. And they were a first wave punk/new wave band, going back to 74. They anticipated trends. There 1st album in 76 was one of the first new wave albums before the the term was even used. Beyond that it's all semantics (punk/new wave/pop/rock). It's just music.

  • @ahhhitsrob Check Detroint 442, one way or another, hanging on the telephone etc... But particularly I agree, many of their song are almost pop.

  • @chupimoth1 Well they were a pretty rocking band to start with, I'll give them that but yeah they're a pop act. A good one I must say.

  • @chupimoth1 Most of their songs are actually not pop, they actually have an equal amount of pop and rock songs and even quite a few punk songs. It's just that their biggest hits are pop and dance songs so most people and the media label them as purely a pop band but that's not accurate at all.

  • @ahhhitsrob This song is totally "rock" to me, not pop. It's quite aggressive and has a strong sharp biting guitar sound to me and her singing is very sneery and edgy and also the tempo is quite fast. A good example of a pop song from Blondie is Sunday Girl, if you can't tell the difference between this song and Sunday Girl then get your ears checked! Definitely a rock song in my book, not even close!

  • jesus christ all bleedin mighty - how fast does Burkey play those drums ? ? ? !

incredible group in every sense of the word ....

  • Raping the like button :3

  • Oh my God! What a super babe rocker!!!!! I LOVE Blondie!!!!! AND great music Holy shit!!!

  • I mean, check out those lyrics! "I can divinate your presence from afar" - awesome. She never gets credit for her lyrics. The most deadly mix of :

    - beauty

    - voice

    - lyrical writing ability

    - fashion sense

    - coolness and hip factor

in the history of modern music. And it all works because she is never trying to force anything. She just lets it all happen. Its almost criminal how talented she is.

  • She was able to sing *and* keep her clothes on!

  • Vandellas Accidents Never Happen can't compare; Shangri-las did better.

You sure can see the Maddonna....

  • The Influential Deborah Harry and Blondie...in this one song you can see who they influenced: Shirley Manson (listen to deborah's pharsing in this song), Elastica (spiky new wave/punk), a phase of Blur's career (see Elastica), and they even cracked the door a little for Madonna (in debbie's liberated fashion and attitude)...and on and on...

  • Deborah Harry at her best here, effortlessly wiping the floor with all who came before her and all who have come since and crawl in her shadow. A great performer of great songs, but it is her majestic prescence that sets her apart, a prescence by which I am, quite literally, touched. I fell in love with this lady at the age of 8 and I am still in love with her now. One of the handful of of people who truly deserve the mantle of "icon", and who induce the feeling of awe with their mere prescence.

  • Btw, the whole punk era needs to be reevaluated. Beyond the fact that people cannot seem to figure out that “punk” is just an invented term, all the major bands of that era experimented with different styles. (eg, The Clash w/ Sandinista!). Yet despite being false there is still the idea that being creatively stale was a virtue. It was the creativity of the era, the experiments and crossovers that made the era great, not three chords and a cloud of dust.

  • Honest to god I'm so sick and tired of these moronic d**ks who talk about one of the most influential rock/pop groups in history and say...they were fake, get this Kn*b rot away from here or else!

  • The late '70s boomed w/ new wave music before MTV came and spreaded out more.

  • Blondie

    Music: New Wave

    Style: Mod

    Attitude: Punk

  • bellissimo canale.. iscritta.. ti va di ricambiare??? ;)))

  • Well, once again you missed the point. I did like it. They were fake, everyone else, in the movement, was real, which is why "they" are remembered and Blondie is not. End of the day, they (like many others) did their best work BEFORE they got on vinyl. After that, it was all down hill. Those that "stuck to their guns" are fondly remembered, by anyone under 20, those who didn't got what they deserved. Forgotten. Well, I'll let you get back to polishing your Nickel back collection. Sorry.

  • @Roddog61 " 'they' are remembered and Blondie is not." Blondie is not remembered???? What planet are you from? One of the most influencial new wave bands ever. And ask any modern female pop star today about Debbie Harry's influence. 40 million records sold. Not to bad for a band that was big for only about 4 years. 78' - 81'. Broke up in 82'.

  • @Roddog61 Explain to all of us how Blondie was "fake"? Quite a statement there, I don't think Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are going to be happy when they found out they inducted a "fake" bank. LOL

  • @Roddog61-You are completely idiotic. Blondie seems to have a lot of views and gets a lot of press and accolades for a band no one remembers. LOL. And the idea that a band is "real" only if it never evolves and remains one-dimensional based on a media created label is laughable. (Were the Ramones "real" when they worked with Phil Spector and had string instruments in their songs?) People that lecture about "punk" and what is real or fake never seem to know much about it. Pathetic.

  • They were a fake punk band. I liked them best when they were pretending to be punk. That lasted about a year. After that, they just sucked donkey dicks. I wore out "Eat to the Beat" but was ashamed to admit I bought it one year later. That's my remembrance of Blondie. They had all the tools to be great, but they chose to be "commercial". They bought into that's "all THEY deserve". They broke my heart and failed musically for doing it. As they deserve.

  • @Roddog61 Blondie never pretended to be punk, give me a break. They were who they were, a band that was always changing and making new music with many different influences. I've never heard of anyone embarrassed to admit they bought Eat to the Beat, many including me think that's their best album ever!

  • @doetim Really? Well I guess that's why they're so successful today. I mean, I walk down the street and ask any random teenager "Who's your favorite Blondie?" and they say "Dee-Dee" or "Joey" etc. Because they never heard of Blondie, they think I could only be asking who their favorite Ramone is. Eat to the beat was their best album ever. That was my point. Their pre-album work was much better and they sucked to high heavens after that. That's my point.

  • @Roddog61-So because you didn't like it, they failed musically? Very egotistical. Your subjective opinion is just that, nothing more. But thanks for sharing. And what exactly is a true punk band as opposed to a fake one? It's just a media created label after all. The idea that bands have to subscribe to some musical orthodoxy is silly. Incidentally, I'm not sure the average teenager knows who the Ramones are/were.

  • @Roddog61 They always insisted they weren't a punk band...

  • PARA SEMPRE BLONDIE!!!

  • @shanilynmanson LOL! I really laughed hard reading that!

  • was für eine frau!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMG Listen to the drums... These are the faster ones I've ever heard :O OMG...

  • @CommodoreBasic i can play faster

  • probably my first intro to guitar solos... LONG LIVE BLONDIE!

  • Those 3 don't live in a perfect world,shit,they believe in luck!

  • dude, she is soooo freakin pretty!!!

  • No i don't believe in luck !

  • Yeah ! to "Ampheat 1" I absolutely loathed that "Disco and sappy Pop 70's era"

so called music! Thankfully Blondie spearheaded the forage into the punk rock and new wave transition; exiting away from that marshmallow epitome of junk !

  • These new wave bands revived the use of Gibson guitars way before anyone ever heard of Slash who got all the credit for breathing new life into this vintage gear. New wave brought a breath of fresh air to the disco and sappy pop 70s era and it sounded and looked good too.

  • Hotter than hell she was..............

  • the original MILF

    Always a skirt, yum

  • @JUSTEPOUR18PIGES same here... i hate those people, wish i grew up with blondie

  • WHY 2 DISLIKES ???????? WHY???????

  • It just seems that Clem does all the hard work and Jimmy just pushes buttons. I had a crush on them both.

  • I forgot how much I liked this song.

  • crazy clem burke! one of the first shows i ever went to as an early teen was with my older cousin to see blondie on their parallel lines tour. i remember he broke the tip of his drum stick.. just the tip bounced off the snare and i think it went into outer space! it was also the first time i was passed a joint so i was in outer space myself. - love blondie.

  • Deborah has the best lips of any woman, probably ever!

  • ^^ i know what you mean ...so sexy

  • I would have ran thru broken glass, stood on my head head and shit snowballs to have a night with blondie. She was the queen of my youth.

  • @cottonjeff Blondie is a band.

  • she's so ahead of time!

  • Clem goes crazy. Rock on Blondie!

  • 3:03 - Is that what they call a head drum? :D

Looks like they had some fun recording this clip.

Man, Debbie Harry is just *so cool*.

And this song was considered filler back in the day?!

  • LOVE this song :)

  • la beauté devrai être éternel !!

  • After watching this an accident happend in my pants.

  • I was born in '88 and I grew up listening to Blondie's music, my dad is a major fan. For my 11th birthday I got to see Blondie live in London arena when they made their comeback with 'No Exit'...was the first concert I went to. When I turned 21 my dad bought me a record player and gave me all of his vinyls that he'd collected since he was a teen- most of them Blondie's of course! some are still unopened in their original packaging.... I love my dad :)

  • If you want Punk go for Sex Pistols, Sham 69-Hersham Boys, The Clash- London Calling. Buzzcocks- Harmony in my Head and my favorite which is The Members and Sound of the Suburbs. If you really want to go for it the The Jam or the Boomtown Rats. We had ir all. God bless X Ray Specs that she died so young

  • This band was so good at its peak in '79 that this great song was considered one of the fillers of Eat to the Beat album!

  • It is now 2011 and this is more contemporary than the garbage that's out there today. This is very bad ass.

  • Fucking awesome!! they dont make bands like this anymore the queen of punk!!

  • Isn´t it amazing how much more sexy she is than all these fake oversexed idols of the lady gaga type they have today?

  • One of their under-rated masterpieces.

  • One of the 2 best Blondie Tracks. The other......Angels on the balcony.Infact 2 of the best ever.

  • She's (Blondie) very underrated. It's too bad MTV preferred the Bangles.

  • Blondie par none are the best band along with The Beatles.

  • I just freaking love that part that begins at 2:45 with Debbie's hand is right in our face and then she's like oh wait my shades are slipping let me adjust them for a sec! With anyone else it would look stupid and we all would be like haha you're trying to be cool but your shades are slipping from your face but with Debbie it always look like it's part of the act, just looks so cool and natural. I also love the irony of her hand attacking the camera while her face is pulling back.

  • this song reminds me of that ooh child song and the led zeppellin song, stairway to heaven! its cool though, its cool!

  • jhez every song from blondi is so good

  • I LOVE THIS SONG! Clem Burk kicks BUTT on that drum part!

  • She is Absolutely Perfect!!!

And Debbie, I want to wake up now!!

  • I FREAKN LOVE BLONDIE!!

  • An example of fine new wave music :D

  • I really think accidents happen: Blondie split up in 1982! :(

Thankfully they closed the nineties beautifully with ''No Exit''!

  • "no I don't believe in circumstance no more.... accidents never happen in a perfect world... so no... I won't believe in luck."

    Precisely.

  • wow what a women!!! still beats the shit out of the crap now days!!long live these bands!!

  • Classic

  • She will always be THE face of new wave!

The Empress of American modern rock.

  • The true goddess of American punk

  • Great band, great video with the great Debbie Harry!!!!! Thanx for posting! I love Blondie. I still have all their vinyl. Shame music today does not sound this good or this original.

  • Debbie's so cool

  • Awesome tune

  • These sunglasses are allmost illegal :D

  • that trippie one watch?v=YNoh3Xi8pvs

  • cool vid but she's obviously coked the fuck out...

  • @TheEarnold ahaha so wut!?

  • really great tune ........ makes me long for the old days wen bands were fresh, innovative & exciting.most of today's stuff is just a re-hash

  • 100 THUMBS UP MAN!..... Debbie Harry and Blondie FOREVER! LOVE IT!

  • clem burke

  • De lo mejor!!

  • Amo esta canción!! Accidents never happen in a perfect world. Complications disappear...

  • Awesome tune! One of my all time favorite bands from day one.

  • This era had the best punk sounds in my opinion. I think that the sound took a turn for the worse after bands like Blondie, Joan Jet, The Doors, etc. Not that I don't like any of the newer punk bands, it's just that I like the late 70's and 80's better.

  • She sure have a purty mouth...........

  • 2 people suffer from music retardation.

  • Yeah I really can't believe how old this footage is. She's just sooooo beautiful.

  • love them....blondie

    <3 memories

  • @SuperBadgurl9 I'm with ya on that.

  • @BananaJSSI I can tell you have good taste in your music. thx

  • @SuperBadgurl9 So do you! I used to be in the Official Blondie Fan club from 1978-1981, shhhhh!

  • @BananaJSSI ; )

  • she's amazing!

  • this song so reminds me of "Daria" the tv show in the 90's on MTV=p

  • Great tune. Timeless band :-)

  • you have never stopped being my favorite coolest chick on the planet since the 80's. you are more than awesome and this is one of my fave songs by you. you're beatufiul, stylish and ultimately cool.

  • Play this song as loud as you can in your porsche.

Drive well over 300 km/h in a pedestrian zone...

    Accidents never happen!!!

  • I HAVE NEVER EVER DONT ANY COKE.....THANK U AND GOOOOOD NIGHT

  • I really like to be there on the 70/80!

Too bad, my generation is jonas brother, bieber, miley and all that crap

  • @JUSTEPOUR18PIGES

I hear what your saying but there was a lot of crap back then, people's memories just become selective with age. In a decade no one will have the slightest clue who any of these bands are. Or maybe they are actually musical geniuses, I haven't the slightest clue. I count myself blessed with actually never having heard an entire song by anyone of them.

  • @JUSTEPOUR18PIGES - Your gen definitely got the shit end of the stick. At least you can watch some of the good stuff on You Tube.

  • @JUSTEPOUR18PIGES I was that generation! I used to dance with this with my Friends. It's nice to knowREAL music is still appreciated.

  • @selinakyle I agree; turn on the radio in the 70's & 80's and there was a lot of crappy songs that don't survive the test of time. The good or popular songs survive beyond the time they were produced.

Sometimes great music that transcends time, is rediscovered by later generations,

  • @JUSTEPOUR18PIGES same here :(

  • love the sunglasses!

  • @barbabart The sunglasses look great, but she has to push them up 5 times between 2:00 and 3:00. She doesn't have any trouble with the ones in The Hardest Part, or Union City Blue.

  • THOSE LIPS!!!!!

  • it reminds me Ramones... :D

  • imi place la nebunie gagica asta si melodiile iei

  • How the HELL Did this not make the Top 20 back in 1979? It is awesome that Blondie has so many Great songs that ther asre some like this that go some what unnoticed! LOVE DEBORAH HARRY AND BLONDIE!!!!

  • @msmdude68 It made the top 20 because talent and music were appreciated on a large scale back then, not studio tricks alone and lip synched "performances."

  • Love Blondie still. Great to see in her recent interviews what a down-to-earth, warm & humble woman she is. Still beautiful & classy.

As a teenager, I could never get over her lips, always with that wry curl & she doesn't move them much when she sings.

  • ive been a mad fan of Van Halen Ac Dc ZZtop the Cult Rolling Stones Queen Eagles Forigner etc. I grew up listening to all of these bands music except Blondie's But in the last 6 weeeks i have come to realise somthing. BLONDIE is the best band in the world!

  • @boltonox its about time, bolto! what were you DOING in 1979 but not hearing ms. harry's voice? :)

  • @jas22 oh i knew who she/they were jas. i saw the first time ever they were shown on tv in the world! Music TV show called Countdown in Australia 1977 with "In the flesh. It went straight to No1 in 2-3 weeks. They were huge out herelong before they got picked up USA or England, Europe. Australia back then, blokes were into tuff Hard Rock bands. Blondie came over as more pop act than power rock act. Until i listened on yt i didnt realise they had more to them. My mistake Deborah, u fuckin rock!

  • @boltonox i totally understand! i did know about "in the flesh", which was a B-side. kudos to the aussies for picking up on something that took a while to develop elsewhere, even in blondie's home country. i always thought it was cool if blondie was 1/2 british, though. always hoped clem and nigel, at least, were from the UK. (well, i was correct on nigel).

  • @jas22 No worries.. I think their managment blew it badly. they were sold as pop not Rock and in those days there was a huge status difference between pop and Rock acts. If detroit 442 and rip her to shreds had been promoted as singles instead of the boppy tunes i think they would have been looked at as serious Rock artists. It wouldnt have been as commercially successful but it would have gained them more valuble Rock status street cred for sure, Ive only just realised this as ive been on YT.

  • This video cost like 400 dollars but I think it's on of their best.

She looks pretty damn good here.

And that's some heavy drumming in the back...

  • @MrDunkJunk Maybe the whole Eat To The Beat videos costed 400, but they're too interesting and original!

  • @MrDunkJunk the funny thing is that the video would cost like 400 bucks today, but probably cost a couple thousand back in the day...hell, even VCRs were like a couple hundred bucks around the time I think...lol

  • @MrDunkJunk @MrDunkJunk I really like it too!. It looks super basic but it has some kind of rawness about it that makes you watch it again and again, or at least it has that effect on me. The face's she pulls in the opening few line of the song cracks me up!

  • great videos

  • tenk om kunne lage slik musikk i dag?

  • on peut retrouver quelque chose que l'on ressent chez Elli et Jacno...

Mais je souhaite écouter cette chanson en regardant une bande dessinée de Chantal Montellier

  • Clem is one of the best rock drummers... period!

  • by far BLONDIE is the best punk/pop band ever...no one can ever replace them!

  • I LOOOOOVE DEBBIE!!!

  • hellatious kick ass rock and roll voice, perfect sexy red lips,Monroe sexiness.......Debby is 1 of those chicks who has it all, there's really good entertainers, and there's the great ones like Harry......AND just like Raquel Welch who's still hot after many hard years,Debbie is still the fantasy of many.........thank you Blondie!! Jeroel

  • Buona e piacevole musica ...

  • this song really warms me up, here in cold sweden(snö suger!!)

  • debbie looks gorgeous :)

  • Joy!!

  • Debbie's too cool for school.

  • But she went anyway. LOL

  • sunglasses rules

  • This is my favourite one today.

  • That's my fave song (after slow motion) from the Eat To The Beat album

  • First, there was Debbie. And, then, came Madonna!

  • Nah, first it was Marilyn Monroe. She was Debbie's idol. Today, it is Lady gaga. (which sucks).

  • rock look...cool glasses...simply BLONDIE

  • Back then, I took Clem Burke for granted... but he's amazing. Those cheesy drum machines that took over in the 80s really killed new wave music. It's good to see so much appreciation heaped on him now by fellow old Blondie fans on YT.

  • BOPPERS!!!! ha caught you out.....dont blame you ....i would of done as well lol xxx

  • how amazing that blondie records still sound as thrilling today as they did back then?

  • @kevsickboy Amen brother!
